And now, let’s get started. Mitchell Robinson claps back at Nick fans. Mitchell Robinson has been a major topic of discussion this off season specifically because he’s eligible for a contract extension. However, after New York resigned Mikuel Bridges, it made it even more challenging to resign Mitchell Robinson unless he takes a pay cut. While many fans believe he would do this, Robinson recently confirmed his position on this matter by clapping back at a Nick fan. Let’s see exactly what he had to say. The following exchange between Mitchell Robinson and a Nick fan happened on Instagram. Here’s what this fan had to say about Mitchell Robinson. He said the following. Big Mitch, we need you to also take a pay cut or else you are sadly getting shipped. Hash New York Forever. Robinson saw that comment and he left the following comment in response. Laughing emojis. Well, the Nick fan didn’t like that and he responded with the following message. Come on, man. New York has had your back for seven years and you don’t give a damn. And then Robinson continues to laugh at this fan. But he didn’t stop there. After the laughing emojis, he then clapped back with the following response. And question mark, I went out there numerous nights fighting my butt off doing all the dirty work for the city and still got talked down about. Lol. Why would I give a damn? We have to mention to everybody that Mitchell Robinson will make 12.9 million next season. That’s also the cap hit for the Knicks. All of that money is guaranteed. And this will be the final year of his 4-year deal. That’s why he’s currently extension eligible this off season. He’s going to be an unrestricted free agent next summer in 2026. That’s why New York has to make a decision. Do they extend Mitchell Robinson now or do they wait, see what he can do next season, and then make a decision on whether they’re going to extend him or not? This is Mitchell Robinson’s final year of his current contract. And it doesn’t sound like the Knicks are going to resign him, especially if he’s not going to take a pay cut. And it sounds like Mitchell Robinson will not take a pay cut. And we all understand why he has not been given the respect that he deserves. He believes he’s been talked down about even though he goes out there each and every night and does the dirty work on defense for this team, for this organization. Now, many fans, they actually see it and recognize what Mitchell Robinson can offer, but other fans, they do downplay what he does on the defensive end. That’s because offensively he sometimes is limited and a lot of fans don’t like that. Here’s what I think about Mitchell Robinson. He is a great player, nearperfect fit for this Knicks team because he does everything that this Knicks organization needs him to do, especially on defense. I think next season is going to be his year to prove to everybody, including the Knicks, why he belongs to stay in New York for a very long time, maybe for the rest of his career. If he shows out and has a monster season next year and he stays healthy for the majority of the season, I can almost guarantee New York will extend him on a new contract. However, I’m just not sure how much that new contract is going to be. That’s because New York, they’re already limited in terms of how much money they can give him while trying to keep this core intact. If they want to extend Mitchell Robinson and keep him on this team, they’re going to have to make some very hard decisions moving forward. Some players are going to have to be waved and they’re not going to be able to stay on this team any longer. But if Mitchell Robinson doesn’t do what he needs to do next season, then that might give the Knicks everything they need to say, you know what, I think it’s time for us to move on from Mitchell Robinson and allow him to go to another team. Now, maybe that means New York trades him at the deadline. Or maybe that means they sign and trade him. Either way, New York will make a decision on Mitchell Robinson come next season. And if it’s up to Mitchell Robinson, it looks like he’s going to get that contract extension with the Knicks because according to him on his social media, it may be a little bit cryptic, but he still said it. He promises big changes are coming for him next season. As you can see here, and shout out to Mitchell Robinson for posting this on his Facebook. It is clear. Robinson may have big plans for next season. He stated the following. Big change is coming. Mark my words. I’m tired of being labeled as this bad guy. Now, if we go back to his previous exchange with that Nick fan, maybe he’s being labeled the bad guy because he doesn’t want to take a pay cut. But maybe that first part is why he doesn’t want to take a pay cut. Because big changes are coming for Mitchell Robinson. One of the biggest changes I think all Nick fans have been waiting for is for him to develop more on the offensive end with his game, specifically his free throws. And all off season long, and you can check the channel, we have been covering it. He has been working on his free throws. And if I do say so myself, he’s getting better with his free throw form and being able to be more comfortable as he shoots those shots. But there is one surefire way that Mitchell Robinson can guarantee himself getting a contract extension for the Knicks after next season is over with. if he can help New York win 60 plus games next season, it’ll almost be a lock that Mitchell Robinson gets re-extended. So, I know what you’re thinking. What are the odds that the Knicks will win 60 plus regular season games next year? Well, shout out to channel sponsor FanDuel for giving us the odds for if the Knicks will win 60 plus regular season games next year. And according to FanDuel, they have the Knicks odds in order to win 60 plus games next season at plus 360. Those are some very good odds for this Knicks team with new additions and a new head coach. And that gives me a lot of hope and it should give Mitchell Robinson a lot of hope as well. if he can help the Knicks get to 60 plus wins, and it’s because of his defense, his improvements on offense, his ability to stay healthy and stay active for New York, that’s going to go a long way with Leon Rose in this Knicks front office, giving him a very significant contract extension, which I know he ultimately wants. He doesn’t want to leave New York. And news flash, New York doesn’t want to lose Mitchell Robinson. However, at this stage, it’s all about the money. Will Mitchell Robinson take a little bit less? Will the Knicks try to find more money someplace else by creating that money, trying to give Mitchell Robinson a little bit more? Hopefully, they both can meet in the middle and get a deal done next season because I do not believe a contract extension is coming for Mitchell Robinson this off season. that contract extension, if it happens, will happen after next season. And that makes the most sense, especially when it comes to Mitchell Robinson. His injury history, the fact that you never know what you’re going to get from a seasontose season basis from him. That’s why it makes a lot of sense to wait and watch what he does. How many games is he going to be active and available for? How many games is he going to miss because of injury? How many games is he going to change the course of? Be that impactful player that helps us win the game when it looks like we were going to lose the game. All of these factors, they’re going to come into play at the end of the season for Leon Rose. And based off of next season, that’s going to determine whether Mitchell Robinson remains a Nick or whether he gets traded and goes elsewhere. But honestly, I love this move by Leon Rose and this Knicks front office. Don’t give an injury-prone player like Mitchell Robinson a contract extension right now, especially after last season. Let’s wait and see what he can do fully healthy to start off the season. How long can he last? What he can do? What’s his impact going to be? How does he help this Knicks team? and what is our record at the end of the year thanks to Mitchell Robinson. Let’s wait and see what all of those things are because based off of that, that’s going to determine whether Mitchell Robinson gets a contract extension and stays with the Knicks or gets signed and traded to another organization. But either way, I can promise you changes are coming. And by the sounds of it, those changes are very significant, especially when it comes to Mitchell Robinson. But what about you guys? What do you think about Mitchell Robinson promising big changes are coming? Mark his words. Let me know how you feel about that in the comments section below, guys, because honestly, I would love to hear from you. But that’s going to do it for this episode. I hope you enjoyed it and if you did, go ahead and smash that like button, leave a comment below, and of course, guys, please subscribe to the channel. Until next time, Nick fans, take care of yourself, your families, and each other. Peace and love.
The Knicks have a decision to make on Mitchell Robinson and his contract extension. Many fans believe that Robinson will take less to stay with the Knicks. But in an exchange with a fan, we see what Robinson’s feelings on taking a pay cut is. And it seems that he won’t be accepting one. Which likely means the Knicks will not extend Mitchell Robinson until after next season. Robinson also promises BIG CHANGES are coming next season… Troy Mahabir breaks all of this down!

Lmao, not even gonna watch this video. I've heard enough, Mitch got some nerve, never let nobody disrespect you but was it disrespect? I'm sure not all comments were. Knicks fans are smoking crackroids, him & y'all both bugging, he get got nerve to go off on fans(I'm from New York so you know we don't play disrespect but hear me out) when most likely what they said was the fact that he is often injured, has no free throws & no offensive bag & is only good for ONE thing which he never available so that ONE thing he good at isn't even that valuable when you think about it, we can replace someone who's good at one thing(a one trick pony) a lot easier then replacing someone like a all around player like Mikal or some. He's only good for one thing & that main thing doesn't help us when he's just ALWAYS INJURED, then when he's out there, he's holding us back & limiting us, being a liability cause he can't shoot free throws & isn't a scoring threat so he allows our better players to get doubled, that alone is reason enough for him to get a pay cut(not to mention traded if our goal is to be the champs), but when you factor in the fact that our best player in Jalen & our 3rd or 4th best player in Mikal took pay cuts who are both way more RELIABLE & AVAILABLE & are TWO WAY PLAYERS, there's no way that you can even argue that he needs to take a pay cut, he literally gets hack a Shaq done on him, I haven't seen that in a long time like come on lmao.
I don't see why we don't just trade him for Walker Kessler, or throw him & Kat with 2 picks at the Bucks for Giannis or in the meantime develop Huk & have him be our C, we need him practicing on his free throws & offensive game, we don't need another liability like Mitch, it would be pointless to move on from him just to get a Mitch 2.0 out there.
& here I thought us New Yorkers keep it real, they all delusional & blind like they don't see his often injury prone history & the fact that he's only good for ONE thing. Y'all can live in Disney, I'mma keep it real, I got nothing against him as a person but as a player, he trash on offense, being good at one thing even if that one thing is important isn't being a good basketball player especially when he's always injured so he never available for us to use the one thing he good at 🤦🏿♂️
This is stupid – would anyone take pay cut with day to day job
I respect Mitch, no pay cut. Get the money you deserve
Idiot fan smh
Keep him at all cost.
Mitch needs to take a pay cut since he keeps going out for 3/4 of the season. And it's not funny with his emojis. With limited scoring skills. HE'S NOT ALL THAT…
Fred Katz described Mitch perfectly, "The things that Mitch is good at, he is the best but the things he is bad at, he is the worst."
We need Mitch without a doubt. Embiid hurt him don't forget Knicks will regress without him
Mitch will get paid. Somebody on the bench will have to go.
He needs to stay healthy and hit his FTs. He plays 65+ games next season and near double double with 1-2 blocks per game and he gets a $25-30mm contract
If Mr Leon Rose & HC Mike Brown see their Knicks young centers perform better than Mitchell Robinson. The knicks can trade Robinson easily, If Robinson stays as a bench player with less money.
Knicks fans have to wait and see,
Uh…. he shouldn't take a pay cut
😂😂😂😂 in the last 2 season he was not out there each n every night look mitch is cool n all but Knicks made it this far with him mostly hurt n coming in end of the season the value would come if he can shoot free throws we will be where we at with or without mitch idk play the contract out n show up for the season n playoff then maybe
Look at what happened to Isaiah Hartenstein, Mitch wouldn’t be to sad
Troy, can we clear cap space for Mitch this summer by using Deuce as a trade asset if Kolek breaks out?? I know that sounds improbable from the Kolek standpoint, but just a scenario Iit's thought of because of how guard-heavy we are and iportant Mitch is to the team. If not maybe Iheart would take a pay cut to come back if OKC declines his team Option🤣
Lol. We as Knicks fans all value Mitchell Robinson. We're not disrespecting him. The guy can rebound, block shots, finish on ally oops, finish on pick n' rolls, set screens and defend. If he didn't have health concerns, he would be a lock to get a big contract. One of the biggest issues with Mitch is his chronic injury issues and the length of time it takes for him to return. That's why we were looking past him to Ariel Hukporti or pushing the Knicks to get Moses Brown. However we knew that if and when Mitch was available, he would dominate in a really powerful and unstoppable way. He's definitely talented on the defensive end. But he can't dominate in street clothes.
Another issue is his lack of moves on offense. I agree that he can finish on pick n' rolls and ally oops. His low scoring total wasn't his fault. That was on Thibs. Why? Thibs could have used Josh Hart, Jalen Brunson, KAT, Tyler Kolek, Cameron Payne or Mikal Bridges (who can all pass) to get Mitch the ball in the paint. When that was done (especially after he complained about his lack of touches), his scoring total increased. However why hasn't he worked on doing other things? He could have learned how to:
1.-do hook shots
2.-to drive to the rim
3.-do post up moves
4.-use pivot moves around the rim (footwork)
5.-pass the ball out of double teams rather than forcing the ball up to get it blocked or stolen
6.-do spin moves that could help him get around defenders in the paint.
That would make him a better player on offense…in addition to learning how to knock down at least some free throws consistently. Big guys can shoot free throws. Look at Jokic, Joel Embiid, KAT, Nowitzki, etc. Even Giannis has improved. If necessary, why doesn't Mitch work with Olajuwon. I guarantee if that's done, Mitch would improve on offense…just like OG Anunoby is doing.
I think Mike Brown will help Mitch improve though. Why? There will be more movement without the ball, passing out of double teams, less forced 3 point shots, more sharing the ball, a faster pace and getting out in transition. That should lead to easier baskets for the entire team…especially the centers who were often forgotten on offense in Thibs' system. Mitch can still become a star. Look at Ben Wallace and Dennis Rodman. But he could become a generational name if he works with the coach on offense.
Bro stop it I've heard the same thing every year about him stop it. You know he's goin to get hurt
Wallets closed. If you can't play a full season you don't get an extension. The history of long injuries is brutal with this guy. Play a full season and then we can talk about it. If you're a GM you cannot give big contracts to players that are gonna be sitting down.
I still believe KATMAN and ROBIN SON can be a DYNAMIC DUO!!!!!😂😂😂❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
Peace and Love Troy ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕 💘 🎉😊
He needs to show he can stay healthy, improve his shooting including free throw shooting. Show us and then NY will show you the money
I see 56 wins this year. If Mitch can play 60+ games then you have to pay him.
Mitchell Robinson was held back offensively by that fraud of a head coach tom tibo-doo-doo
Pay that man
Mitch has always been loyal
And for all the years there
He has never had back up
Until hartstien came and
He got paid and help OKC a ring
So yes Mitch is worthy of it
From a real new Yorker
Kool Keith 😎
When was the last time Mitch played a full season?
I am a loyal guy and like stories that a team stands by its player and the player stands by its team. Having said that, I understand the business aspect of the industry and let's be honest, neither a team nor the player have great incentive to be loyal in the story book way. It boils down to money. MR has proven when he's healthy he can contribute in a big way, yet given his liability on the offensive front, especially his free throw shooting, it behooves the NYK to explore trading him for serious draft picks and/or a serviceable player of size that can give you minutes, defense, meaningful points and 75% free throw ability. For crying out loud, we are not talking Willis Reed or Patrick Ewing here. And with salary cap considerations the NYK need to either get MR on a discount or move on. I totally understand if MR wants to move on. He has a right, that which he has earned, to maximize his financial situation and that of his family's accordingly. I trust both sides will do the right thing. GO KNICKS!!!!!!
Because Knicks fans are fucking stupid. He only got hurt because Joel injured him out of frustration since Mitch was locking him down that series but what do knicks fans say?…"he would've gotten I jured some other way"…dumbasses…way to show your appreciation for the guy who helped us win whole playoffs series
Most real knicks fans dont want mitch going anywere
If Mitchell Robinson can develop a spinning fadeaway jump shot or a jump hook shot he would be very deadly
Possibility of Knicks being interested in center Thomas Bryant of the Indiana Pacers as per Empire Sports Media
This is all nonsense. What we’re really talking about is extending him, not re-signing him. He’s not getting the max so idk what a pay cut is even supposed to mean. He’s a vet who is one of the best in the league at a couple things (despite massive flaws elsewhere). He’s gonna get paid, especially if he proves he’s in shape and can stay healthy this year. Gotta just let things like this play out and see.
He hasn't been given the respect he deserves? Lmfao, sorry bro I'm not with that. Mitch is a beast when healthy. But tell me when hes healthy? He's played in 337 regular season games is 7 years. That's 48 games a year. That's not acceptable. And 3 of the last 5 seasons hes played in less than that. As a big man, that likely won't improve. As much as I like him as a player, I wouldn't commit big money to a big man with that health history. I dont want to see him leave but I'd absolutely trade Mitch.
This isn't the first time we've heard Robinson is working on his free throws int he offseason. It didn't work well the last time. I love what he brings to the Knicks on the rare occasion he's healthy. I do believe this is Robinson's last season with the Knicks.
I think they’re gonna re-sign him
