he was like a father figure there’s there’s it’s it’s so many stories if if he was able to to come sit here and talk he’d tell you he’s never had a player come in his office that cried on his shoulder from how many murders he had to deal with back home in Seattle how many funerals I had to pay for it was so crazy a lot of my people don’t even know this from family friends and the penitentiary popped in want me to go to Seattle when I first got drafted I wouldn’t go to Seattle and that was a man that cared about me that was a man that wanted me to reach my full potential in life first but then as a basketball player he’s so real he tried to move my mom to San Antonio with his own money after she got shot my mom was shot in the leg my rookie year he called her himself without me knowing until after the fact we want to move you here no no not with his money with my money that sound like a dude that care about me and love me right

  7. The NBA needs more coaches like Pop, like Pat Riley, like Steve Kerr, like Phil Jackson. Coaches that value players and want them to succeed as men outside of the league

  9. Born in ‘96 into Spurs fandom….I just CANNOT imagine our Spurs organization without Pop…now that I’m older I appreciate him SO MJCH more and all the memories I had with friends and family watching/attending Spurs games….
