Q&A with Sandro Mamukelashvili: Why he signed with Raptors, 1 thing we don’t know about Wemby

Okay, anytime you’re ready, Rod. What made you want to sign with the Raptor? Um, the growth, the team. Um, you know, a lot of guys who want to grow together. Uh, a lot of teams who want to develop, win a lot of games, and, you know, organization is amazing. Uh, head coach Arco, a great guy. Uh, knows European ball, American ball. I think he can unlock a lot in me and, uh, showcase everybody that I belong in this league. You know, it’s been uphill battle for me. So, I’m really excited to be part of the Raptors. um young group and uh kind of develop together, grow together, and win a lot of games together. If you could take an open shot from anywhere on the floor, where would it be? Open shot from anywhere on the court, where would it be? I would say or 45 on the left side of the floor or the corner. Okay, makes sense. You’re lucky. Uh your biggest inspiration in life? My brother, my my middle brother, amazing guy. Uh taught me a lot a lot in my life. how to be first and foremost how to be a great human being, how to respect everybody, how to treat everybody how you want to be treated and you know um how to take a deep breath sometimes. So I look up to him and uh he’s definitely one of my my favorite people in this world. So shout out to my brother. Uh your favorite program? Uh Tony Coo uh yeah big guy, lefty, uh can pass, can shoot. I feel like he was a modern big before modern big came to the league. So you know uh he definitely helped me out be where I’m at today. Europeans have such a big in influence on basketball as basketball as basketball as basketball as basketball as Yeah, I agree. Uh, one thing that we don’t know about Giannis. Giannis? Yeah. Uh, I’m pretty sure he loves donuts. Yeah. A lot of people don’t like he likes food that like I would never think he’s eat some junk food. Sometimes he does. I feel like it’s unbelievable how his body still looks, but um, you know, um, he definitely likes some food. Some good food. That’s a good one. Yeah. One thing we don’t know about WBY. One thing we don’t know about WBY, uh, um, oh, he likes Georgian food a lot. So, I took to I took him to Georgian restaurant in in New York, and since then he’s been there three times by himself, and he always sends me a selfie with Georgian cheese bread. So, okay. I was going to ask what he’s ordering. Speaking of Georgia, favorite Georgian basketball player. Favorite Georgian basketball player? I have to say Zaza Pulia probably. Yeah. Not Yeah, but he too. Think about it. He been in the league for I think 14 or 15 years. Amazing player. Um knew his role, played hard, won championships. That’s all you can ask as a player. Favorite Georgian soccer player. I think there’s a lot more to pick. Uh Guania. Yeah, for sure. Uh you know, he’s uh my generation, he’s young, achieved so much in his life, and the first and foremost talking to him, he’s such a down to earth guy. Uh last question. You speak four languages, English, Russian, Georgiaian, and Italian. Yes. Can you say hello and welcome in Oxford? My god. Hello. I’ll say hello in 04. Uh, all right. You’re more welcome in 04.
