Ben Simmons… to the Knicks?! 👀 #Shorts

Ben Simmons… to the Knicks?! 👀 #Shorts

It’s getting real. Multiple NBA insiders are reporting strong mutual interest between Simmons and New York. Ian Begley says Simmons is certainly a candidate for the final roster spot, and the Knicks are still in on him as of this week. Meanwhile, NBA reporter Brett Seagull says the Celtics signing Chris Buché makes the Knicks the new front runner to land Simmons. But here’s the thing. A lot of Knicks fans, including myself, do not want him. Between his spacing issues, health, and how he would handle the pressure of MSG, there are serious question marks. Still, Mike Brown reportedly liked them a lot in Sacramento, and the Knicks may believe that they can unlock something.

Reports say Ben Simmons is now the frontrunner for the Knicks’ final roster spot… but is he really the right fit? 🤔 Some fans want Monte Morris instead. Here’s what we know.

  1. Yes, I like it. Low risk …high reward. Worst case he gets benched…were deep enough that it won't hurt us

  2. We need a big defensive pg off the bench so that Mikal and OG can stay at the wings guarding the perimeter. Brunson can't be our only ball handler. Look at what happened in the Indiana series. Those traps killed us

  3. I think we should kick the tires. If he can refund his defense and playmaking, it’s a BIG win. If he can’t, bench/cut him and keep it moving.

  4. That's what they been saying nothing yet . That is a good thing guys it's getting old . Really up the street Dnt want him at MSG .

  5. I would love Ben Simmons on my knicks! We already have scorers. He gives a versatile defender who can push the tempo on fast break

  6. I mean he can pass he can defend we wouldn’t necessarily need me to score but he could off the bench I mean why not honestly

  7. Heck no he ain’t been good since he left Philly it’s a mental thing he is still going through and if can’t overcome it then he will never be any good

  8. From a strictly basketball talent perspective, void of emotional personality likes and dislikes. Ben Simmons can fittingly describe, "A GEM" of skill talent. who's by far, a gifted treasure for the incredibly unbelievable sale discount of the veterans minimum. Shying from and lacking media efficacy, is in no way a qualifier are a reflection of his basketball skills and talent. So, Media needs to realize critiquing, criticism and commentary are not a necessary in assembling a winning basketball team.

  9. He seems like an emotional player. He wouldnt give all he can until hes confirtable. Nyc takes respect and lack of ahead of talk from the side of someones mouf. He needs to learn to say.. " suck my d🤬" all yalls d ridin for what.. Practice?

  10. Why not? Especially, in a small ball lineup, u can stagger enough to keep enough shooting. Def could provide something unique if aggressive..cmon, we talking the final roster spot, minimum risk n contract

  11. I would give him a shot. There's a high reward to risk ratio (RrR). I've been a Knick fan since the late 80s. I've wanted to see BenSim resurrect his career and fulfil at least some of his potential for a few years now. What's better than seeing him do it at MSG? Knicks fans, as maligned as we are, have a history of cheering for and support players who have struggled and persevered. If he outperfoems expectations- even by a fraction, players like BenSim can sometimes become sentimental fan favorites. That could boost him and the team. 🟧🟦

  12. Simmons –> Biggest risk but biggest upside (faith NYK can ease his yips).
Brogdon –> Good fit, useful veteran, injury concerns.
Shammet –> Safest choice, contributor, familiarity, good locker room presence.

Any of these guys would be nice.
Not much risk, but expectations should be curbed.

Question- Is Coffee still available/ an option? I can see him playing out well.
