The NBA schedule makers are giving the Cleveland Cavaliers A LOT of national TV games in 2025/2026
Alright, the NBA schedule is being released this week, and we’re getting some early releases and so far on each of the nationally televised events the NBA has announced, the Cavs have been part of all 43 of the 4 games nationally televised thus far are on the road, including part of ESPN’s Wednesday night season opener. It’s the 2nd night of the season, but the first games on ESPN. They’ll play the Knicks in New York City on Peacock. They are taking on the Detroit Pistons later that week. On Christmas Day, they had to face the Knicks in New York again, and then on Martin Luther King Day, they’re home against the Thunder for a 2:30 matinee contest, their only home game against OKC this season. GSC is shaking your head, but it’s 4 primetime games for the Cavs, which I think they had 8 total last year. They’re 4 for 4 so far. I gotta imagine that number is gonna be high. It’s kind of cool in my opinion, to see the NBA giving the Cavs some of the respect they probably deserve in some regard. But they didn’t do it in the playoffs, so I understand why you’re shaking your head. No, I ain’t shaking my head. I’ll take any games I can get. But here’s the thing, let’s not act like they received those games because they was respecting the Cavs. They just feel like, you know what, the Celtics aren’t gonna be good anymore. OK, we need to pivot. What do we got next on the on on this? Well, uh, I, I, you know, Milwaukee Bucks can’t put the Pacers in there. Pacers, uh, we got any other options? We got Giannis and Dame. Oh, Dame’s in in Portland again. Um, he’s out for the year. Well, let’s let’s kind of fall back on these Cavs. Maybe, you know, listen, I know they wanted a lot of games. We can always sell it. They are not, they need some games, to be honest with you, like the Cavs games on here. I’ll take what they can get, but it’s kind of like you’re leaving college, you’re going back, you get home, you, you got a new job and you see the girl that’s from high school, you’re like, ah, she wasn’t, she wasn’t that bad in high school. She’s a little more mature now. Let’s go on a date. I feel like they did back and came back and got the Cavs. They weren’t trying to show no love last year. We was playing on NBA TV. We had playoff games blacked out. We was getting playoff games where they’re like, yeah, the Cavs was playing the magic, but it’s uh it’s on a Tuesday and so You’re not even gonna show that. You just get scores and highlights. Yeah, look, I, I’ve got an interest, not, it’s not interesting. It’s just like I, I feel like we’ve been having this conversation about all Cleveland teams for the last like 15 years that I’ve worked in the media in Cleveland. Yeah, I’m a media member Tyvis. That’s a shame. Uh, you are too. No, I’m, but no, he’s all I wanna say is like who cares if we’re on ABC or ESPN that night outside of Christmas Day. Like Christmas Day, I feel like you, you earned the right to be one of the top teams to be in like in in that window. We finally got there, but like out of, out of unless you live in California or somewhere out of this market where it’s hard to see the Cavs play every, every game, every game’s on TV, every game’s on TV like what what’s the big deal on a Friday night if they’re on ESPN versus Fox Sports Ohio or or whatever the hell is or or Loandle, big fan fan. Loanle. We loveanu. Um, but I’m just saying like, who cares about the respect? All I care about is like, are we gonna hold the Larry O’Brien trophy at the end of the year? — I don’t give a shit about playing on ESPN on Friday or Saturday
— night. Is it a is it a is it a fair validation thing? Yes, it’s like, — it’s
— like we want you to talk about us because no one talks about us. We do be in our feelings. It’s unacceptable. You know it’s sad because I wish that I didn’t work with Bull so much he has rubbed off on me. See you, see you in April. Dang. Look at these. They come to the Cavs. Talk to me in April. Now listen, — I’m sorry because after what y’all just did see me
— in April. See now this is human nature what it is. I see why this chair is devastating because two people said something that I should just, if it was Bush middle chair, I’d be like, Man. Ain’t nobody cared about none of this but it’s left here. I’m like, uh, can we really say that? Yeah, we can, but God. Are we not going to, we, so, OK, if say for instance, — let me try to sell this
— to people unless they go 20, I don’t. Can I sell this to y’all? If if if Evan Mobley, right? Evan Mobley come back and he looked like he had, he in this different bag. He looked like that AI, yeah, yeah, he looked like the AI picture. He played like AI like and he getting 25, he giving you moves, dunks and his game’s just different and you like, well, Donovan is still nice too, like, and the Cavs is rolling. Does that change your approach? Because when you, you can say that now. But if it’s a Thursday night game and it’s the Knicks and they come out there in Madison Square and destroy the Knicks and Evan Mobley get 40, I’m gonna be like, We’re gonna be excited, right? We’re gonna be bumped. Of course, yeah, like I, I don’t, I don’t, — I think
— I don’t get me wrong, it’s nice to be on national television. It is. It’s, it’s cool that you get the good broadcasters, not that ours aren’t good, and we are, but they’re local, yeah, yeah, — but it’s cool to have like Mike Breen once in a while and
— bang or you get it in. That’s two pauses. Like his, his whole celebration is pause worthy bangs and put it in like that’s crazy, but you know it’s cool to have have those guys once in a while. But, but no, like, look, I look, I came from Mac school back in the day. See y’all, y’all boys was all raised on y’all had a whole network. Ohio State came on. We had to move our games to 2, just just be like, listen, we play, we used to play at random 2:30 games. They said why does that. 2:30. We gotta get out. We gotta get, we gotta get out the way of that Ohio, Ohio State buzz buzz saw. You got every, everybody in the bars, ain’t nobody at these games. But let me tell you what, we play a big team and they bring ESPN Plus down there. You tell everybody, hey, hey, ESPN Plus, they’re like, listen, you know it’s 5 ESPN TVs, ESPN 1, ESPN News, ESPN 2. People don’t know about the old school plus, ESPN Plus, the regional television channel. — I mean this was on like your local
— ABC. It looked like I remember, I never, I never forget. Being on my first ESPNU game, I got a brand new visor, and we had military coaches. I had to run for days because of that dawn patrol because I had a visor, and I came out there was it worth it? No, we came out there on ESPNU and we played the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Now you may say that’s not too bad. — Did they
— have Marian the barbarian. — They
— play, they came, they came to Ponsold it out. You know, Rich Rod’s going to Pon this year. I’ll be there. I’m, I’m calling the game. I got to pull up on you. Guess what? they not only had Marian Barber, and he got 2 175. They had a young dreaded creature. Lawrence Lawrence, and he got about a buck knife and then guess what, we went in on Monday to see that film. They said we just gonna concentrate on that play, fellas. Didn’t even watch the film. Y’all gave up that much bro. 150 and like a 170 per player. No, they had like 150 and guess what? And we was great at stopping the run. That’s what that was our motto. They came in and shredded the whole film. We didn’t watch film. We was like we’re going on to Western mission, guys.
The Cleveland Cavaliers will be returning to the Christmas Day NBA slate for the first time in nearly a decade. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, they will take on the New York Knicks for the first of five games that day. Christmas Day games aren’t what they used to be. The NFL has come in and taken much of the NBA’s shine away from those matchups. However, this is still a time when the league tries to showcase its best times. The Cavs are clearly one of them and are rightfully being recognized as such.
It is noteworthy that the Cavs and Knicks are the only Eastern Conference teams with a Christmas game. The other eight participants are in the Western Conference, which speaks to how lopsided the balance of power is between the two conferences.
The rest of the Cavs’ schedule is expected to be released soon. We do know that they aren’t one of the opening night showcase games, as those slots were also taken by Western Conference teams.
Cleveland took care of business against the Knicks last season. They were 4-0 against New York which included two impressive wins at Madison Square Garden.
This will be the 15th time the Cavaliers have played on Christmas. They’re currently 7-7 in those games while being 6-0 at home and 1-7 on the road. | https://sports.yahoo.com/article/cavs-play-christmas-first-time-221048771.html

3:48 – “When it comes to the Cavs, talk to me in April.” But when it comes to the one of the worst franchises in the history of American sports, you’ll be tuned in to all 17 losses this season. Yea, last season was a huge disappointment for the Cavs, but they had injuries against a Pacers team that proved to be FAR more legit than we thought they were at the time of their series with the Cavs. They took the effing Thunder to 7-games in the Finals and had a legitimate shot at winning had Hali not gotten hurt. Absolutely no way you can judge the Cavs for that series now the way we all did during / immediately after that series.
Primetime games absolutely suck for NBA fans. I have the NBA league pass but games are blacked out and they expect you to get a subscription to espn, prime video and now peacock….WTF!
Sure I want the 1 seed. But I dont think we we are getting out of the second round. Regular season still doesnt matter
I need to know if Cavs have a home game on Halloween night this year because if so, I am so there.
