Corey Kispert on growing up within the Wizards organization 🏀
You are. You’re looking at us as white dudes. It’s cool. It’s our whole life. First of all, not since you said that. I got a question. Don’t say nothing. Did you know who he was before we came in here? Absolutely. Try to tell me. You probably don’t know who he is. Stop it. You’re ridiculous. I watch basketball, man. I’ve watched for that long. Everybody know the broke back three-pointers. Don’t shoot. If you don’t know nothing about Mike Miller, you remember that moment. He tried to tell me before you got here. He probably don’t know who I am. I should have bet you. You should have took the bet, too. Talk about, you know, obviously leaving Gonzaga. 15th pick, right? Yes, sir. Awesome. Congratulations. Thank you. Growing up inside this Wizard organization and seeing the changes, one thing you learn real quick is once they start paying you those paychecks, it’s a profession. It’s a real job. Who did you lean on as a rookie there to help you kind of guide you through this? And now seeing these changes, you’re going to have to start helping some of these other young kids. So, it’s a full circle. Yeah. I mean, you have to you have to learn how to be a pro fast real quick. We’ve changed multiple times. I’ve played for two coaches. I’ve had two front offices. Change every year pretty much. You have to separate the business and the game and you have to learn that really fast. The two guys that I leaned on for that specifically were KCP. Yep. He was one of my vets. That’s a good one. Great. Great guy. Helped me a lot through the struggles of the first year. That was the year of me like trying to get on the floor, trying to find minutes, make an impact in other ways besides shooting in order to stay on the floor longer. Like KCP was my guy for that. And then do you guys know the name Anthony Gil? Oh yeah. Yeah. One of the best teammates I’ve ever been around. Full stop. And he works his tail off. He is always in the gym. He’s the in the best shape of anybody on our team. Any barley any barely plays. Love that. [Music]
