Salary Cap Breakdown – Miami Heat

The Miami Heat’s three highest paid players are Andrew Wiggins, Tyler Hero, and Bam Adabio. And with those three on their salary cap for next season, the Heat were approaching the luxury tax. But then they made several moves this off season. First, they were part of a three-team trade with the Clippers and the Jazz. Essentially, they just gave up Kevin Love and Kyle Anderson and got back Norman Powell in return. That’s a pretty good deal, but it did add a lot of money to their books. So then Duncan Robinson opted out of the last year of his contract as part of a sign-in trade with the Pistons for which the Heat got back Simone Fonteio who’s making much less than Robinson was going to. Then they also gave a new 2-year contract to DaVon Mitchell. And finally at the draft they selected Casperis Yakonis with the 20th pick. So, all things considered, the Heat have had a pretty solid summer, except for the Terry Rosier situation, which is still sort of unresolved. Even before all that had come to light, he was not exactly playing up to the level of his contract last season. Anyways, so now that the Heat are indeed just over the luxury tax, we’ll see if they make any more moves before next season begins, as I’m sure they would prefer to extricate themselves from the Rosier contract if they were able Do

Here’s everything the Miami Heat did this off-season, and how their salary cap looks heading into next season!

  1. The kj pick, davion extension and powell moves were great. How we move on from wiggs and terry will be important for the future

  2. Tyler, Powell, Wiggins, Bam, and Ware with Davion as the sixth man is a good six man rotation. If they somehow find a good Rozier trade, they could be dangerous

  3. I would love to see one of these videos for U.S. Government spending. Maybe starting with the ten biggest chunks. Then a video for each chunk.

  4. can you make a video explaining the floor, cap, tax, and aprons? the pistons were under the floor last season, how does that make sense

  5. Can I just say, thank you so much for making these videos! I never really understood the NBA salary cap and all the aprons. These visuals help explain every team's financial situation with such clarity. I love it!
