Miami Heat work out a former first round pick, Kai Jones. He was drafted 19th overall in 2021 by the Charlotte Hornets. It’s been an up and down career for Jones so far. He was waved out of the league for a year, then joined the Clippers and Mavericks last year where he was actually pretty good for Dallas in the final 12 games of the season, averaging 11 points and six rebounds and about 21 minutes per night. Miami has four open preseason roster spots. So, that is where this contract would be. Miami also has a two-way open, but he is not eligible for one. So, if they do bring him in, it would be on a preseason spot. It is reported that they’re not going to go further into the luxury tax to bring in Kaijones.
