Sacramento Kings TRADE DeMar DeRozan To The Brooklyn Nets? | NBA Trade Rumors
So, could the Sacramento Kings be trading away Demar D Rozan to the Brooklyn Nets this 2025 NBA off season? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself. But this trade would see the Sacramento Kings receiving Nick Claxton, the Brooklyn Nets receiving Demar De Rozan, a 2027 first round draft pick from Charlotte, and a 2028 or so, sorry, 2027 second round draft pick. So to me, this doesn’t make a ton of sense from the Brooklyn Nets perspective, giving up on a player in Nick Claxton, who arguably carries the most trade value on this team currently for an aging Demar Rozan, a draft pick in 2027 for a team that’s wanting to get better. And a second round draft pick just seems like pretty poor asset management if you ask me. Now, I could maybe see this a little bit more if the Kings were giving up Demar D Rozan plus attaching a bunch of draft picks to him. So maybe if this was Demar Rozan plus two or three draft picks, I could see it a little bit more. But for the Brooklyn Nets, who are going nowhere and nowhere quickly getting Demar De Rozan, who’s a pretty tough player to trade, I would imagine due to his age, etc. Uh despite the fact that he still is a pretty good player and giving up your most valuable trade, you know, chip in my opinion, in the form of Nick Claxton, this just makes no sense. Like Nick Claxton should remain on this team for the foreseeable future. He’s a very important part to this team. He’s a very efficient scorer and as I mentioned before, he’s pretty young as well and he’s a really good player. But if you’re getting rid of him, you have to get back a ton of a ton of draft picks or young talent. And this just would classify, you know, this would sort of check off none of those boxes. Like Demar Rozan still a really solid player, but him going to Brooklyn makes legitimately no sense. Maybe if they had a third team in line or maybe he’s a a trade candidate later on, then I guess that could make some sense. But uh given the direction of this uh Brooklyn Nets team and the buildup of this roster, getting to Marty Rosen just makes zero sense. And getting rid of Nick Claxton, who’s a good young player in the prime of his career getting better each and every season doesn’t make a lot of sense either uh from the Nets perspective. So for the Sacramento Kings, I love this deal. Like yeah, there’s a chance that maybe that Charlotte pick in 27 is somewhat valuable, but they want to get better. They want to get back to the playoffs as early as next year and solidifying the starting center position and having a front court next year of Nick Claxton as well as to manus a bonus. That’s really good. Plus, you’re keeping someone like Zack Lavine uh and maybe make another move. This is a really solid deal in my opinion uh from the Kings perspective. So, if I had to pick a winner of this deal, without a doubt to me, I’m going to go with the Sacramento Kings. But, as always, leave your thoughts.
