Portland Trail Blazers TRADE Jrue Holiday To The Sacramento Kings? | NBA Trade Rumors
So, could the Portland Trailblazers be trading away Drew Holiday to the Sacramento Kings this 2025 NBA offseason? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself, but this trade would see the Sacramento Kings receiving Drew Holiday and the Portland Trailblazers receiving Malik Monk and Dennis Rutder. So, this would be interesting because there’s still some speculation about whether or not uh Drew Holiday will actually play for the Blazers this season. Now, all signs point towards him probably staying because I think that if they were to if they were to flip him, it would have happened earlier this offseason. So, I think all signs point towards uh Drew Holiday remaining on Portland for the foreseeable future. But if they wanted to get rid of him because he is somewhat expensive and I would say at this point he is a declining asset uh due to his age and his regression offensively etc. it could make some sense to trade him and get back whatever you can in return. So in this case here the Blazers would be getting back Malik Monk and Dennis Shruder. Two pretty solid players like Malik Monk had himself a really good season this past year. I think that if the Blazers want to get to the playoffs next year, they’re going to have to, you know, rely on their depth as well as players like Scoo Henderson, etc. taking that next step and being really solid players in the NBA. So, if you want to surround Scoot uh and Shaden Sharp, etc., uh with really good players like Malik Monk and Dennis Shruder, two very solid veterans, uh this is actually a pretty good move in my opinion. Plus, they potentially get out of a a pretty bad asset in the form of Drew Holiday if he regresses, gets injured, etc., uh as he is an aging player who is quite expensive. So, I actually like this trade quite a bit from Portland’s perspective. Now, from the Kings perspective, they’re banking on Drew Holiday being still a really solid player and a bounceback candidate uh for the 202526 season. Last year was not pretty for him um in uh you know, in Boston. He still had a pretty good season, but his numbers did go down quite a bit. Um and you know, Boston wanted to get rid of him for a reason because they wanted to, you know, save some cap space. So, he’s still a pretty solid player. And I think that if he were to go to the Sacramento Kings team and play alongside Demar, uh, De Manis as well as Zack Lavine, it could be a really good fit because offensively speaking, those guys can take control defensively speaking. He can be a bit of an anchor in their back courts and still play at a very high level. So, he actually fits the Kings quite a bit better, I would say, than he does with the Blazers. So, it’s a pretty intriguing trade. But, in my personal opinion, I think the winner of this deal to me, just by a little bit, would be the Portland Trailblazers. But, as always, leave your thoughts.
