Los Angeles Clippers 2025 Offseason Recap
Yo, what’s going on, guys? Today, of course, we’ll be doing the Los Angeles Clippers off off season recap. I don’t know why that word just was a struggle for me to say. Now, if it’s the first time you’re on this channel, I would like to hear your guys’s thoughts down below in the comments section. What do you guys think of these moves? And if you guys agree with me, they were the right ones in the sense that this team, I know it’s the oldest roster by average age, not by average age, by minutes played in being the oldest squad of players collectively featured. Now, I think they’re deeper than they’ve been since the first year or two of the Paul George Kawawaii teams. And let’s get right into it. Before we start today’s video, as always, I’d like to hear your guys’ thoughts down below, what do you guys think of the Los Angeles Clippers and how they’ve been able to get this roster deeper in an era that is the prioritization of depth. Now, besides that, if you en enjoy this type of content, go to hoopsite.com where I work for more NBA content. But like and subscribe because it’ll help out the channel a ton. So what were the moves? Yanakon and Netherhauser the man from Switzerland was drafted with the last pick. He was the most athletic big man available. And now not only do they have a Vika Zubatz but John Collins and Brook Lopez but they have Yanakon and Neerhouser who they can bring along slowly or he could come on fastly and maybe be a similar player to like uh Derek Lively. dare I say h I feel like that’s like really high expectations but that’s what they hope and then they got former point guard turned Swiss Army knife swing man Kobe Sanders from Cal Paulie and then transferred to Nevada and is coming out of Nevada played point guard in college but he’s going to be more of this like Swiss Army knife utilitarian type player they were able to resign both James Harden and Nick Batum to two-year deals which was obviously expected to happen but it’s good that that it it happened and that it didn’t change the offseason. Now, who did they bring in? They turned Norman Powell into a very cheap Bradley Beal, who is a guy who averaged like 18 and like four assists basically for the Suns. Yeah, the biggest concern is availability, which is the best ability. And if he can be durable, this is a guy who still plays at a at times at a fringe all-star level. Not only did they get Bradley Beal, but they brought in John Collins, which is great because John Collins can be their starting power for, but can be their small ball center at times. Give them the athletic look that they need. And Brook Lopez and Collins now, who but Brook Lopez being the other guy that they brought in is going to be able to allow them to go ahead and be like, “Okay, we we don’t have to rely on Zubots 100% of the time.” And if you guys know what happened last year by the E playoffs, Zubots just looked at times sluggish and like burnt out. Chris Paul makes a homecom return in Taai Washington with Pat Bev Pat not Pat Bev, Pataldwin. both signed exhibit 10 contracts which could be turned into one-year non-g guaranteed deals or they would sign with the G-League team after being waved in within 60 days they would get a $50,000 bonus pushing that their basketball earnings for the season to north of $100,000 who left well to get the deal for John Collins to work and to create cap space to sign Bradley deal they traded Norm Pal and wave the $4.5 million of non-garanteed salary that Drew Eubanks had. How did this fix the team? Well, Riley Beal’s also a guy who doesn’t really turn the ball over. That’s something that I feel like people don’t talk about, but they brought back the point guard. Chris Paul is going to be a backup, but they have now a lot of veterans, a lot of guys who are going to help take care of the ball. Bradley Beal, John Collins, and Chris Paul can all and Brook Lopez can all shoot the three-point ball. This is one of the worst three-point shooting teams last year and one of the worst offensives in the league. And guess what? bringing Bradley Beal and Chris Paul. Chris Paul is going to create easier looks for everybody while Bradley Beal is just going to give you an efficient score. Then you also have some size and athleticism brought with John Collins and Brook Lopez. Both who can also shoot the three-point ball. So you’ll be able to stretch defenses now, which is something that we knew they were struggling with last year. And then of course adding size and the versatility with Neerhouser and Sanders on the back end was huge for a team that was still able to retain the star power of James Harden Kawaii and bring back a veteran in Nick Batum. So to me that’s big. That’s big. You have your veterans, you have your leaders, and you have everything. So how does the 2025 the 26 cap look like? This is a team that their payroll is $194.6 million. Their tax line is basically $6.77 million over the tax line, which means their projected bill as a repeater will be two $20.6 million, just under, and they have about $1.2 million in space before the first apron. And the second apron is about 13.1. They might make a move to get out of that tax line, but I think they’re cool paying it. Steve Balmer has enough money. So, what did all these moves do? Well, I think if you look at the roster, which I thought I posted a picture of the roster right here, but I didn’t. So, I’m just going to say it out loud as I’m kind of upset that we we didn’t do that. But, I’m going to mention the whole roster here because usually that’s what we do at this point. But, the current roster they’re they have three two-ways filled with Jordan Miller, Trendon Flowers, and Kobe Sanders being their three two-ways. is they have one roster spot open and that is being clearly duped out between Taai Washington and Pat Baldwin as they’re all their two ways are fall filled and I believe Pat Baldwin and Taie I don’t think can sign anymore to two ways as they’ve I guess exhausted their eligibility now James Harden Bradley Bquad Leonard John Collins and Zubats makes the starting lineup with Chris Paul Chris Dunn Bardon Bardonovich who’s expected to get traded that’s I think they could get below the tax line. Nick Patum and Brook Lopez making up the next five guys in that 10-man rotation. And you still have Derrick Jones who’s probably like maybe the guy who pushes Bogdan out of the rotation and then you trade Bogdan in a salary dump move. And oo just dropped the remote. But yeah, so with that being said, I think Tai Tai and Baldwin are duking it out. Tai Tai might have the edge because Trenton Flowers and Mr. Kobe Sanders and Jordan Miller all play the same thing. Even though Pat Baldwin’s more of like a Steve Novak guy, but look, bringing in Chris Paul and Bradley Bill gave you playmaking. Bringing in John Collins and Brook Lopez and Yanakon and Neerhauser and even Kobe Sanders gives you the size and versatility. And they got athleticism. This team just needed some more athleticism. They needed some more shooting and they needed to make moves without gutting their rotation. They kept the team together. that they kept the continuity goes. We’re assuming that Kawaii is going to be healthy. This is a title contending team and the upgrades that they made means that they want to win a title. They want to win a title and it’s age versus experience. The roster is older, the oldest in NBA history, but I think their playoff readiness outweighs long-term concerns. And matchup wise, their front court and that they actually have a point guard directly addresses the concerns that they might have had in the 2025 playoffs. So, I think that’s the biggest thing that they wanted to fix right here, and they were able to do that with these moves. So, with that all being said, what do you guys think? That was it. That’s the video, guys. If you made it to the end, I hope you guys did enjoy. I think they did great. And I think this team, if they stay healthy, they’re good. Now, could they be gassed by it? Maybe. I think Cam Christie, Derek Jones, I don’t know what’s going on with Kobe Brown. Could someone tell me if Kobe Brown’s ever going to get minutes? I love Kobe Brown coming out of Missouri and Missou, but you know that just didn’t happen. Who’s going to get this the job? Tai Tai or Pat Baldwin? We’ll make we’ll do our preview prediction, not preview, but a predictions video in a little bit. I know a few weeks. But that’s where we’re at on this one. Hope you guys enjoy.
The Los Angeles Clippers had a busy 2025 offseason, reshaping their roster to push for a championship run. In the draft, they selected Yanic Konan Niederhäuser (#30) and Kobe Sanders (#50) to add size and versatility. The Clippers re-signed James Harden and Nicolas Batum, while making major additions with Bradley Beal, John Collins, Brook Lopez, Chris Paul, and TyTy Washington.
Key departures included Norman Powell (traded to Miami) and Drew Eubanks (waived). With improved ballhandling from Beal and Paul, upgraded frontcourt athleticism in Collins and Lopez, and retained star power in Harden, Kawhi Leonard, and Batum, the Clippers addressed weaknesses from last year’s playoffs.
Operating above the tax line, the roster is built for immediate contention — veteran-heavy but playoff ready.
