NBA LIVE! Los Angeles Lakers vs Indiana Pacers | August 13, 2025 | Lakers vs Pacers Live 2K25

Acres starting five. Ruy Hachimura is out there with LeBron James. Then it’s Luca Donuch. Then it’s DeAndre Aton. And it’s Reeves in a two spot. And for the Pacers, Tony Bradley out there with Pascal Seakum. Then it’s Nesmith. Then there’s TJ McConnell. And it’s Nimhard in at the two. Well, when we look at tonight, this could come down to the back courts, Grant. They’re both very talented. Yeah, BA. You know, I love great guard play. And of course, each team has some serious skills at that position. So, expect a fast pace of play, lots of threes. It should be one heck of a matchup. And play stops. A whistle there on what looks like an illegal screen. You can get away with one once in a while, but it looked like he wasn’t completely set on that pick. You got to blow the whistle when it’s that obvious. Great call there by the official. Now here is James. The second effort pass to Aiden. Tries again and a foul called on the way up. So he’ll take two from the free throw line. Got to be careful how you guard Aiden. He’s so creative at finding ways to draw fouls. If you look at the history of the Lakers, they’ve always had elite big men. That tradition goes all the way back to George Mikin in the 40s. Then they had Will Chamberlain, Kareem, and then obviously we know what Shaq was able to do there. That’s good from Aiden. The Los Angeles Lakers, home to some of the greatest bigs of all time. Richard. Yeah. Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, Pal Gasol. The Lakes Show winning titles with those large dudes proving that size does matter in this league. Aiden hits them both. Yeah. What I appreciate about Aiden is that he wants to keep getting better. You have to be excited about his future. Pass to Nhard. And we’re about a minute into the first and that one good. Just taking it right to the rim and no one was there to greet him. Easy possessions like that literally are just a gift. You just dream of them. He will gladly take those. Now here’s Donic. Shoots over McConnell and again no good by the Lakers. Floats one. Dic for the block. Pass to James. They get it back and Aiden gets it to go. I mean, come on. A sevenfooter with a 75 wingspan. Aiden beats everyone to the ball and converts easily. Here’s Nimhard. Pass to Seakum. rebounded by the Lakers. Bashes the bucket like you expect him to make. It’s tough when you miss those. The Pacers have gone one for three so far. Things just don’t seem to be clicking for them offensively. Yeah, they really need to find a way to get back on track. Here’s Nimhart from outside the ark. Donic grabs the miss. Yeah, you know, he usually makes you pay from that range. James soft touch off the glass. James has gotten his second bucket. With elite passing skills and court vision, Donis is an advanced distributor for his age. And that streaking rack attack is the mobile one drive. Yeah, nice finish from him on that drive. Uses his body well and helps extend the lead. Here’s Nimhart. First quarter of play and we’re about 3 minutes in. Here’s Nesmith and once again off the mark by Indiana. Pass to Reeves. Now Aiden down to five on the shot clock from deep. Here’s Donic. The rebound by Nemhard and he almost made them regret defending him so loosely. McConnell outside pass to Seakum. That one’s good on the assist from McConnell. And just a straight baller move from Seakum. I mean, shrugging off the coverage and keeping his focus on that basket. Now, here is James. Now, Achimura, he’s covered by Seakkum. And the basket by Achimura. And you got to defend better than that. I mean, that’s a good look for him. See, this is what analytics don’t take into account. Some guys thrive in the mid-range. Really depends on the shooter. It’s actually kind of lazy. Here’s Bradley. Boy, he’s been patient so far. Nothing yet on the scoreboard. Hachimura finds Donic. James outside. Here’s Aiden. Perfect night so far. Two for two. Time out. Time out. And that’s the thing. That’s why he’s going to be top five all time in assist. LeBron James just drops dimes. Time called here. Indiana decides to talk it over. After making the playoffs five years straight, the Pacers have struggled to get back to the postseason. Yeah, you know, BA, they’re trying to go through a rebuild right now, and that’s going to take some time. But the front office and coaching staff appear comfortable with this direction, knowing it might be a while before they make the playoffs again. Here’s McConnell. Pass to knee Smith. Here’s Nimhart. All alone. Offensive rebound. Pacers. Seiakum. No good. Now Los Angeles with it. They’re on a 12-4 run. Ooh, took him no time at all to get that one. You can really feel the momentum swinging in their direction. Yeah, but they can’t relax. They’ve got to keep building on this lead because it is not safe. Here’s Nesmith. Well, quiet so far offensively, searching for his first point of the game. Here’s Nimhart. The Pacers again can’t hit. So often we see guys fail to box out now, but he did a great job right there. That pass wandered off target. Can’t lose focus on the little bitty things. And that’s how you defend. He wasn’t showing any mercy with that swap. What a play. I mean, that’ll have the offense thinking twice about taking shots in his presence. Indiana’s gone 0 for two from outside. Offensively, it’s been a struggle for him. Yeah, they need to string together some shots to have any kind of chance. And he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So, he’ll take two free throws. And just one of the most impressive titles in league history, guys. The 2020 Lakers winning it all in the Orlando bubble. A testament to LeBron James and that team. Shooting two. And the first one at the line is good. You know that 2020 bubble title for the Lakers. What made it so difficult? You know, BA, the mental grind of all that time in the bubble, 3 months in the same place. NBA players are used to being in four cities in a week. So, it really was a different kind of challenge for them. And it’s a luxury to have a great shooter like him at the line. Very rarely see a miss. Aimura finds Donic. Back to Aimura. That one falls. Great setup by Donic. Donic has got three assists now in this one. So far, they’re owning both ends of the floor. We’ll see if they can keep this going. They came out and bumrushed them. Huge difference in activity level from both teams tonight. Here’s Nimhart. And the foul is called. He missed it. So he’s got a couple of free throws coming his way. Yeah. And for the Pacers, things have gotten stale. So they bring in a new coach in Rick Carlile, a new potential star in Tyrese Hallebertton. A fresh start for this franchise. Shooting two. and he knocks down the first one. Indiana switching things up recently going forward in a new direction. You know, BA, change can be a good thing. Sometimes organizations can get comfortable winning 42 44 games, losing in the first round, but the Pacers clearly want more. And you know what? I respect that. Pass to James. can hit it from 12 ft. I think the defense will live with him taking mid-range jumpers, but maybe just a little bit more resistance. Here are the Lakers with the ball. They’re on a 16-7 run. Here’s Reeves. Back to James. Count it. Make that three of seven so far for him. really taking charge of the game largely with a detailed interior attack. Yeah, they haven’t appeared in a rush at all. They are just playing to their strengths and building this lead out. Well, time called here in the Anna decides to talk it over. Yeah, hoping to tap into something that’ll get them clicking. Yeah, they need to regroup and maybe try and draw something up that can get them a clean look at the basket. Heat. Heat. down. Toppin. He’s checked in for Indiana. Hayes has checked in for the Lakers. Smart comes in for Reeves. Indiana’s gone 0 for two from outside. Pass to knee Smith. Here’s Nimhart. Defended by Smart. He shoots. The Pacers again can’t hit. The rebounding numbers make it obvious why they’re in front. They’re limiting the offensive possessions for the other team. Tough to win with no extra possessions. Now here’s Smart from deep. Here’s Donic. The rebound by Nhard. Pass to McConnell. Pop it inside. He’s against Hayes. They get it back. Give the defender credit. Willing to challenge the shot. Lots of other guys just let them score there. Donic passes to Hayes. So, it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. It goes on Obi Toppen. And looking at the Lakers, Richard, trying to recapture their championship level from 2020. What do you think the key is? Well, when LeBron first got there, their team was way too young. than last year. Probably too many veterans. We’ll see how they can kind of find a happy balance in between the two. The first one falls and some changes here for the Lakers. Vanderbilts checked in for DeAndre Aton and Vincent. It subbed in for Luca Donuch. Both shots good from the strike. Here’s McConnell. Well, he hasn’t scored yet, but I’m sure that’ll change. They need something good to happen here. Yeah, they’ve gone way too long without a score. Pass to Matherin. Out of bounds. It’ll go to the Lakers. The Lakers have got eight of 15 shots to go. James left side. Oh, a clear foul there on the missed shot. So, he’ll get a pair at the line. And you look at the career that LeBron has put together. One of the all-time greats. Amazingly lived up to the hype he had coming out of high school. Two shots. That’s the first and that one misses. And the immense pressure LeBron has had since day one of the NBA. Many others would have folded. Grant. Yeah, very true. NBA. The expectations he had were just insane. Anything less than a top five player all time would be a disappointment. That’s not fair to ask of any player coming into the league, much less a high schooler. Good on the second one. LeBron is second all time on the NBA career scoring list. It’s just him and Kareem at the top. As long as he stays healthy, the King will set that record. Here’s Matherin. And he can’t get that one. Some solid defense from James. Back to Vincent to the inside. Misses the layup. Well, with all of LeBron’s accomplishments, Richard, how would you rank breaking the scoring record? For me, it’s up there with anything LeBron James has done. this record. I don’t think anyone’s going to break it. Now, here’s Topphen. Boy, no scoring yet from him, but that’s likely to change. That one goes in. And they may have talked about shot selection coming into this. Smart outside. Pass to James. Here’s Vincent. lets it fly and that’s good for two. And the Lakers lead by 14. They’ve shown so much energy right from the start, particularly on the offensive end. They came out swinging, really setting the tone on offense and the opposition has not been able to respond. Here’s Vincent Smart for three. It’s rebounded by Pascal Seakum. Seakkum’s got four rebounds now. 156 left in the first quarter here. Here’s Matherin. It’s Hayes with the rebound. Hayes has got four rebounds now. Out to the wing. Here’s Vincent. The Pacers pull it in. Seakum’s got a rebound number five here tonight. The fader count it good inside. Seakum gets the better of the defense using his agility clearing himself a path to a shot. Smart outside Vanderbilt out to the right wing. Here’s Vincent. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two, man. Good whistle there. And a moment now to quickly take a look at the offensive approach for Los Angeles. And he makes a first Jackson. He’s checked in for Tophen. That one misses. And now it seems Seakkum is in his prime. How do you see his place in the league, Grant? Well, I really like him, but he seems to be an elite second option. Not sure if you want to build an entire offense around him, but certainly has proven to be an important piece to a championship level team. Good. Now, what’s the saying? Don’t box out, you get your feelings hurt. Pass to Benson. Smart with the ball. And here’s Hayes. Defended by Jackson and finished off by Hayes. Slams it down with two hands. Man, they’re really getting aggressive now. Tipped away now. The Lakers moving it up. Shot clock and game clock separated by less than 6 seconds. Nope. Shooting three for eight in the game now. Here’s Matherin. That one no good. Some solid defense from James with one on the clock. And so it’s the Los Angeles Lakers in command with a 13point lead at the end of the quarter. We hear teams talk about wanting to get the ball inside, but this is how you do it. And don’t go far. We’ll be right back. And so far through one quarter, it’s been a lopsided game. We’ll see if that changes here in the second. And guys, Lakers look pretty much in control here. Give it up for their D. They’re battling, communicating, and coming up with key stops. It’s been a group effort and that’s what it takes to play the kind of defense that they’ve played. Great showing from them. And here are the Pacers now. It’s a 13-point game. So on the floor for the Lakers to kick off the second quarter. They’ve got Jackson Hayes. He’s out there with Rui Aimura. DeAndre Aiden is out there with Luca Donuch. And it’s Reeves in at the shooting guard position. All right, let’s get a report from Alli. Well guys, Pascal Seakam had dipped for a while after he got the big bag. He said it was like you got the max contract, but are you the guy? That’s something I really struggled with, but there’s still another level that I can get to and I see myself as an all-star and there’s a lot more to unleash. Brian, yeah, just now entering it prime. Ally, thank you. Rebound by the Lakers. Hayes has got his fifth rebound in this one. The Lakers shooting at a 48% clip from the floor to the right side. Here’s Reeves and a miss there on the triple. Indiana shooting a tough 22% from the field so far. Pass to Smith. Here’s the three and Aiden pulls it down. Aiden’s got his seventh rebound of the game with that last one. Hachimura finds Donic. Here’s Reeves. Now here’s Aton. Give him eight. Just five to shoot. Here’s Donic. Money from 17 ft out and the Lakers lead by 17. A phenomenal score. I love watching Donic kick it up a notch and take over. Here’s Nimhart. High five points in the game and misses it off the right side of the rim. Oh man, he can’t get anything to fall. You can feel his frustration. Yeah, right now he’s just in his own head. Not much you can do to try and push through it. And Aiden gets it to go. So impressed with that bucket by Aiden. Fantastic body control from the big man. Going all in. That was the 2K drive. Well worth a second look. You’re toasting the defense and getting in close. They’ll take possessions like that one all day. Here’s Nimhart. Pass to knee Smith. off the mark and the drought continues. The Lakers have gotten three or four field goals in the second quarter. Three minutes of action thus far in the second. Here’s Aiden. And that one’s long. Hey, sometimes the best looks don’t equate to points. Jackson, nice assist and nice finish. Solid play all the way around. You know, Grant, sometimes with certain flagrant fouls, you’ll hear people say it was a dirty play, but not a dirty player. But when does it become both? Well, we all understand, BA, dirty plays aren’t good for the game. But sometimes a flagrant foul will happen. A lot of times though, you have to factor in a pattern of behavior. I really believe players who have a history of being called for a lot of flagrant fouls plays a big role in how it’s perceived. Toppin. He’s checked in for Jackson. Here’s Nimhart. He’s defended by Hayes. The shot by Nimhart. No good. Showing great intensity around the rim is part of why he’s a respected defender. Yeah, you can see why he’s established that reputation. strong understanding of how to defend at the rim. Yeah, you have to knock those down. Open shots inside the ark are rare in this league. Here’s Nmith looking for his first basket still in this one. The shot by Nimhard. No good. The Lakers dominating the game. They’ve only given up two points this quarter. Back to Donic. Pass to Reeves. And here’s Aiden. Over topping. Aiden. No good. Here’s Nesmith. He’s defended by Hayes. To the left wing. Here’s Bradley. He’s covered by Aiden. 11 ft out and he goes in for the dunk. Just a big play at this juncture of the game. Second chance points could be the key for them. Impressive effort right there. That’s what they need to mount a comeback. Now here’s Donic. Pass to Aiden. Now here’s Hachimura. The Lakers got to get one up. Late clock. Here’s Reeves. Well, there’s the shot clock violation. So, they’ll turn it over. Indiana shooting only 23% so far. Boy, they need something to go to regain some confidence. No question. Way too many empty possessions for them. I would imagine it’s nearly impossible to not get fired up after that play. Greg, check these guys out on the bench. Their reaction says it all. Oh, they are fired up now. Here’s Hachimura. Pass to Aiden. Five on the clock. Misses and the dry spell continues. The Pacers shooting just 27% of in the second quarter. Here’s Bradley and the Lakers making a change here. James has checked in. Lakers on D. Pass to knee Smith. Clock at six. Here’s Bradley and a good offensive board and he gets the bucket. They’re punishing those late defensive rotations, getting good looks inside throughout the half. Here’s Reeves still getting warmed up offensively. No buckets yet in the game from him. And there’s the whistle. The illegal screen is the call. The screener was leaning a bit right there. His feet may not have been planted. Pretty obvious call by the officials. Look, guys get away with this all the time, but on this occasion, he got caught. The Pacers making a switch here. McConnell’s checked in. Pass to Bradley. And great job to establish position and square up. The Pacers making a switch here. Time called here. Los Angeles decides to talk it over. Yeah, they’re hoping to turn things around with this timeout. On the wrong side of the scoring run here. We might see a lineup change. I I’ll be pretty curious. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. on defense. The Pacers, they’ve only given up six here in this quarter. We talk about it a lot, how consistent James has become from range over a full season. Here’s Nmith. Well, he hasn’t put up any points yet in this one. Bradley inside. He’s covered by Eaton. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. It’s on Ruie Aimura. Hey, if you can’t block it, sending him to the line can be the next best thing. R.J., you played with some of the greats, LeBron, Duncan, Dirk, Jason K, just to name a few. But if the game were on the line, who would you want taking the last shot? Putting you on the spot here. I’m going to be really honest. I have been in great situations with all of those guys and they have all delivered. So, this isn’t but I’m going to go with the person that’s delivered the biggest shot of my career and that was Kyrie Irving and he hit the clutchest shot in NBA history. Argue with me if you want, you’re going to lose it. Hey, no argument here. Good on both. Los Angeles has gone one for three from downtown here in the second. Pass to Benson for three and no good. So, the Pacers will take it the other way. Here’s Matherin. Here’s Nes Smith looking for his first basket still in this one. Clock is at three. McConnell from outside. Offensive rebound. Pacers. Basket counts. He knows his job on the glass and he does it well. cleaning it up and sending it right back. Pass to Vincent now. James to the middle. Here’s Vincent. Takes the three. Can’t get it. He’s now one of four from the floor. There’s Nesmith with a three. Rebound by the Lakers. Earlier in the game, they led by 19. Smart with a bucket. Making the floater look this smooth is not as easy as it looked. It’s a challenging shot. Indiana’s gone 0 for three from deep to begin the second. Pass to Matherin. Here’s McConnell. Good work defensively by James. The Lakers shooting the ball at 43% from the field. James double teamed outside Vanderbilt. Here’s Vincent. Clock at four. Smart left side over McConnell and they get it back and he’s going to the line for two. The officials saw contact while he was going up. Yes. Solid inside play by Aiden. Staying strong and taking the foul while still putting up a shot. That free throw no good. And the Pacers making a change here. Seakums checked in. And he’s good on the second. The Pacers shooting a chilly 28% here in the second. Boy, they’d love if anyone could get a bucket. Yeah, their offense has been grinding to a halt. Pass to Smith inside. Six on the shot clock. Bradley misses. Los Angeles has gone just one of five so far this quarter from three. Offensive rebound. Here’s James. Misses from short range. Here’s Matherin defended by Smart. Shoots off the step back. Smart grabs the miss. McConnell’s gone. just one of five shooting from the floor. Marcus Smart is one of the toughest players in this league mentally and physically. So willing to sacrifice himself on a play on both ends. Seakam gets the bucket. That’s a guy you want taking shots. A quality offensive player. Pass to Vincent. And here’s James. Oh, trying his luck from deep. Second shot opportunity. Aiden no good. Indiana on offense. They’re on a 14-6 run. Here’s McConnell and a miss there with a chance to cut the lead to single digits. Smart’s toughness does really stand out on defense though, Richard. Yeah, because he gets right up in your jersey. Even though it can put him in harm’s way, if he thinks he can trip you up at all, he’ll put his body on the line. Excellent timing by Aiden on the alley pass. He’s perfectly positioned to throw it down. Pass to knee Smith. Seakum with it. Guarded by Vanderbilt. Pades and shoots. Seakum. No good. Fantastic ball movement for them tonight. And things are definitely working offensively. A balanced attack is just so much harder to defend. Now James lets a three fly. buries it from three. James has got 13 and just totally relentless, only increasing the intensity level. Always plays hard until the final whistle, no matter what the situation is. Now, here’s McConnell and he was camped in the lane there. He gets a 3second call. That’s a costly error. Let’s see how they bounce back. Well, they don’t have time to dwell on that. They just need to learn from their mistakes and move forward. Next play, Jackson. He’s checked in for Indiana. James outside. Doesn’t go for him. Excellent D there from Seakkum. And so it’s Los Angeles in control with a 16-point advantage heading into the break. They’ve had incredible success defensively, taking away good looks and pressuring shooters. More 2K action in just a moment. It’s the 2K Sports Halftime Show. Hey again everybody. So far a pretty uh lopsided game, but still one half to play. I’m Ernie Johnson joined by Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny the Jet Smith. It’s the Lakers out on top at halftime. They’re leading by 16. Kenny, what was your impression? Well, when you pass the ball the way they have, Ernie, I mean, this is the kind of scoring line you expect. The guys are in total sync, and the difference is the ball movement. I mean, they’re moving the ball around and it’s striking. And over to you, big fella. Your thoughts on the Pacers first half. They really need to focus on finding quality shots. If they can’t create for themselves in the second half, things will only get worse. And I’m talking about the high percentage looks, not contested threes. And that’s a wrap. With the third quarter approaching, we now send you back to Kevin and the crew. And as we dive into the second half, we’ll find out if the next two quarters are any different from the first two. So far, it’s been a runaway. You got to like what we’re seeing from LeBron James. Through the first two quarters, he’s been on fire. Explosive offensive performance. If they don’t change their approach in the second half, let’s just say his success will continue. And with a big gap on the scoreboard, the second half begins with very different goals for these teams. One side trying to mount a comeback, one side trying to protect their lead. We’ve got Tony Bradley kneesmith out there with Pascal Seakum. Then there’s TJ McConnell and it’s Nimhard in at the two. That’s the group for Rick Carile getting going here in the second half. Nith shot is off. I don’t know if he got in his own head there or what cuz the defense can’t really take credit for that miss. Aimura finds Donic. Here’s Reeves still getting warmed up offensively. No buckets yet in the game from him. shooting two. That one’s off. And the second free throw is good. The Pacers shooting just 24% in this one. Not great. Pass to knee Smith. Here’s Nimhart. McConnell outside. Here’s Nesmith from downtown. The shot by Nimhard. No good. You kind of wonder where his head’s at. The shot selection hasn’t been there. And of course, that one was just crazy. And with a little over a minute gone by, the second half is underway. Pass to Seakum. Good D by Donic. Well, Los Angeles shooting just 38% for this game so far. James passes to Donic. Now Aimura and a bit of a battle for the ball and the officials signal a jump ball here and that shot was going nowhere thanks to that aggressive swat. Yeah, obviously he had the shot well anticipated able to shut it down with authority. And it’s the Pacers with the ball for Indiana. They’ve gone 0 for four. Not the way they want to start the second half. McConnell left side. Here’s Bradley. That shot off the mark. Ooh, excellent D there from Eaton. Pass to Aimura. That one falls. Aimura’s got six points. And the defense has no one to blame but themselves. I mean, they just let him get right to the rim. That’s a great possession. Put your best players in a position to succeed. Bradley. That’s good. Not quite 2 and 1/2 minutes played here in the second half. Pass to Reeves. James outside back to Donic. Jacks up a three. Not going to go that time. So Indiana will take it the other way. Here’s Seakkum. LeBron with the rebound. James has got six rebounds here tonight. They get it again. Achimura comes up empty down low. Here’s Nesmith guarded by Donic. McConnell outside over James. McConnell shot is off and just not allowing the shooter to get comfortable from mid-range. That’s how you play it. Does a good job of getting into the shooter’s airspace. That one’s good from Aimura on the assist by Donic. Donic has got his fifth assist in this one. And we just had to see that mobile one drive one more time. Great stuff. And this is exactly what you love to see. Up big, not letting up, keep on applying pressure to their defense. Here’s Nimhart. Five points in the game. Knocks down the long J. Nmith’s gotten himself on the board with a three there. You give a shooter of his caliber that much time to seam it up. Oh yeah, you’re done. Back to Donic. James outside and he got the whistle on the way up. So he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. He’s not afraid of getting physical. I like how LeBron James has no problem accepting the contact while trying to score. And guys, let’s get your take on the scoring breakdown for the Lakers. Two shots. That free throw no good. And when you think of LeBron, his competitive spirit is to me the first thing that comes to mind. All this guy wants to do is win all the time. And the Lakers making a change here. Hayes has checked in. So he can’t get either to fall. Indiana’s gone one of two shooting from the perimeter since halftime. Seakum finds McConnell. Now here’s Topphen. It’s Hayes with the rebound. Hayes has got six rebounds now in the game. Donic passes to James. Hayes with it. Back to James. Just five on the clock. Pacers with a rebound. All right, let’s check in with Ally Leforce. Well, guys, the NBA markets itself behind its star players, but Commissioner Adam Silver understands what makes the game tick. He said, quote, “This is a team sport. In order to truly win championships and compete at the highest level, all the players have to come together.” So true, Ally. Thank you. Tries to break his ice and it’s good on the layin. James has got 15 points. Like at this point in time, like you have to understand that if LeBron James is on the inside, he has so many ways to beat you. A little contact’s not going to do anything. Here’s Nimhart. Five points in the game. Drops in the layup for two. Seven points in the game. And despite the height disadvantage, oh my, he just attacks that interior. Really unfazed. Throw his height right out the window there. James passes to Donic. Laid it in with a nice touch off the window. And the Lakers lead by 18. Defense was all over Dantage. So he smartly uses a pick to get free to shoot. McConnell outside. Over to the wing. Here’s Topphen. Not enough on that one as it misses. And you look at the intangibles of Luca Donuch. He has some of the best court awareness in the league and that shows up most with his passing and body control. The shot by Reeves. No good. Well, Indiana shooting just 24% on this one. Not great. That’s good from Seakum on the assist from McConnell. And just using every inch of his incredible wingspan, Seiakum is able to make some creative finishes. And the way Donic can feel the defenders around him speaks to his great court sense. Grant, no question. And the elite footwork he has makes the most of it. I mean, one of the best at shielding defenders with his body. It’s really how he can navigate through a defense with ease. Now, here’s McConnell. Seiakum with it over James. Seiakum no good. Aimura against Tophen. And so he draws the foul. Headed to the line to shoot a pair. Well, that was clearly a foul. Shoot two. First one falls for him. And the Lakers with some changes. Vanderbilts checked in for Hayes. Smart comes in for Reeves. And Vincent is subbed in for Luca Donuch. That misses. So he splits the free throws. Indiana’s gone one of two shooting from the perimeter since halftime. Pass to Nhard. The shots good. Nine points in the game. Great timing and coordination. Lays it in coming off that pick. Smart with the ball. Back to Vincent. uses the glass on the layup. Vincent’s got five now. No settling for an outside shot there. They went right to the hoop. Pass to Matherin. The shot misses. Good work defensively by James. Los Angeles has got nothing to fall from outside in this third quarter. And it’s smart missing. Well, the Pacers shooting a low 28% during this third. And it’s Matan missing. Defensively you pick your poison. That time they gambled off the right guy. Oh, and Jackson with the block. Pass to Nhard. Now Topphen Jackson right side. The Lakers with a rebound. Smart has got four rebounds now. Here’s Aimura. Oh, it’s blocked by Jackson. Vanderbilt against Jackson. Smart outside. They get the rebound and James gets it to go. And the Lakers lead by 19. After all these years, LeBron still has the fire, willing to do the dirty work. Jackson outside. Here’s Matherin. Check by James from 20 ft. Offensive rebound. Pacers got it. That’ll drive your coach crazy, failing to box out. Oh yeah, you think you got to stop and it’s wasted because of sloppy work on the glass. You literally practice that every day. Now here is James. 17 points in the game. Hey, expanding his range. The rebound by Nimhard. Oh, poked away. James with a steal. creating some easy offense off the steel. LeBron James always lurking with those quick hands. Indiana is gone only one of three from deep here in the third and he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So he’ll take two free throws. Two shots. Relax on the first. First free throw is good. Nesmith, he’s checked in for Indiana. Aiden, he’s checked in for the Lakers. That one’s no good. And the Lakers shooting 35% in the third quarter. Kicks it out to Smart. James outside. Here’s Vincent. Seven points in the game. Doesn’t go that time. There’s a minute 12 left in the third. Pass to Matherin. Here’s Nimhart. This one for three. Smart with the defensive effort. That’s his shot and one I’m sure he wants back. It’s Smart on the wing and there’s the lob and Aton with the stuff. Good gliding the pass to where it needed to be. Wow. A strong finish to seal the deal. Pass to knee Smith. Jackson outside and it’s out of bounds. They say it was last touch by Jackson Bradley. He’s checked in for Tophen. 30 seconds left in the third. James passes to Smart. Back to James. That one’s wide left. Hey, look. I’m not going to lie here. That’s a shot that he needs to be making. There are no excuses. Pass to Jackson. That one’s good for two. Jackson’s got his second basket. Well, through three quarters of play, down double digits. It may be difficult to overcome. Lakers ahead. They lead by 18. And time to step away quickly, but we’ll be back in no time with the start of the fourth quarter. All right, let’s take a look at our assist of the game presented by State Farm. And I’ll tell you what, this was a nobrainer tonight. Take a look at the precision on this feed. Couldn’t place it any better. You’ve got to admire the the vision just as much as the accuracy. Not many players can even spot that pass. And as we head into the fourth, we’ll see if there’s a comeback in the works or if it’s more of the same from the first three quarters on the court for the Lakers to start the fourth. They’ve got Luca Donuch, DeAndre Aiden is out there with Jared Vanderbilt. Then there’s LeBron James and it’s Reeves and a shooting guard. He’s been tremendous at corelling misses all night long. It’s because he’s reading where the shots are going and getting to the right position. Just outworking everyone early on the glass. Pass break. Here come the Lakers. Outside Vanderbilt pass to Donuchy on the ark. Knocks down the triple and working on becoming more dangerous from deep. Donic doesn’t lack confidence pulling up from way downtown. Here’s Nimhart. About one minute played here in the fourth quarter. Seakum outside. Four on the clock out left to the wing. Fires the three. Rebound. The Lakers. It seems like every miss ends up in his hands. He’s been unreal. You aren’t exaggerating. You don’t get to 20 rebounds without having a special talent for grabbing misses. That is not a bad decision to pull it from there. It was just a little bit off with the execution. McConnell. Oh, great D that time from Donic for Los Angeles. They’ve gone one of four since the fourth quarter began. And he floats it in for the easy two. Credit the sweet setup on that one. Such confidence as a passer. He hits guys in stride. It makes it look easy. Pass to knee Smith. Now here’s Seakum guarded by Vanderbilt looking to get it going. Indiana again missing for Los Angeles. They’ve gone two of five from the field in this final quarter. Here’s Reeves. Back to Donic. That’s good. And now he’s five for 11 in this one. Fearless play by Donuch in the paint. Ready to do whatever it takes to find his shot. Time called here. Indiana decides to talk it over. You got to like what we’re seeing from LeBron James. This timeout gives them a chance to strategize because whatever the game plan they have, it’s not working. Heat. Heat. A new lineup here for Indiana. Just under two and a half minutes gone by now in the final quarter. Pass to ABC. to stop the run. Connects from downtown. Well orchestrated and then the pass is right on the money. Here’s Reeves. Jones against Donic. Five to shoot over. Jones can’t cash in the 10-footer for three and it’s ABC missing. The Lakers have gotten three of seven attempts in this fourth quarter to fall. Oh, there’s the alley and finished off by Hayes. You know, the instincts of Luca Donuch are second to none. Such a natural playmaker. A little over three and a half minutes in the books now in this fourth quarter. Here’s ABC. It’s stolen by Donic and it’s the Lakers on the break from the arc pass to Reeves. Lets it go from deep. The shot won’t fall. So Indiana will take it the other way. Go. Here’s ABC. It’s stolen by Donic. Down low. Shoots from 12. The shot by Reeves. No good. Jones with the ball. Pass to ABC. Here he goes. Rebound. the Lakers. There wasn’t a lot of resistance there at that rim. He just he just tricked off a little bunny. Defended by Jones. Cans it from short range. Indiana’s gone one for three in the fourth quarter from range. Pass to ABC. Back to Jones. Right wing on the wing. Jones. Six to shoot. Let’s go with a three. Pure from three-point range. Jones has got his first three points of the game. And far from the best shot, but all that matters is the end result. Somehow he sinks it. Timeout called the Lakers. Come on. Come on. Let’s go. Let’s go. We got this. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Indiana on D. Donic outside pass to Aimura. Takes a 13-footer. Indiana’s gone two of four from the perimeter here in the fourth quarter. Over to the left wing. There’s Nith with a three and Aiden pulls it down. Here’s Aimura. Good. That’s his fifth bucket in nine attempts. The Pacers shooting a poor 25% for this game so far. Toppin outside to the wing right side. Here’s Nesmith. The shot off that time and the Lakers will go the other way with it. to the paint. Here’s Aimura. That one falls. Great setup by Donic. Aimura’s got four points now in the quarter. Gifted moving the ball. Luca is one of the best passers in the league. Pass to knee Smith. Here’s Nimhard. Shot clock at six. Into the lane. McConnell from outside the Lakers with a rebound. Hachimura’s got his seventh rebound of the game with that last one. Now James from outside off the mark. Here’s Nimhard to the middle toppen left side pass to knee Smith. Here’s Nimhart. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. No debate there. He He got hammered. The first free throw is good and the Lakers going with a whole new group out there. So he hits one of two from the strike. The Lakers have gotten seven of 16 attempts to drop since the start of the fourth. Inside ABC goes up and lays it in nice and easy. Love to see him inside passing like this as well as guys being on the same page. Back to Jones. Puts up a three. Benson grabs a miss. And he probably thought he was going to bury that one. Pass to Cleba. There’s the triple. That shot off. So Indiana will take it the other way. Here’s Nimhart and he lobbs it up to the rim and he drops in the layup off the glass. The Lakers with the ball pass to Cleba. Here’s ABC and he’ll draw the foul. He’ll head to the line for two. shooting two. And he drops a first. So he gets them both. Well, the Pacers shooting only 25% from the floor. Not great. Pass to ABC. Here’s Jones. And out of bounds. Los Angeles will have it. Horrible mistake right there. You hate to see unforced turnovers like that. Los Angeles has gone one for five shooting from the arc here in the fourth. Here’s Vincent defended by Jones. Count it for Vincent. He doesn’t have the quickness of some guys, but he sees everything, including that opening. Back to Jones. Three-pointer. Rebound by the Lakers. You just got to love watching a big man hustle on the glass. This is what his team expects and needs from him and stolen by Jones. Pass to ABC. Now here’s Jones. He’s closely guarded. And the Pacers making a change here. Walkers checked in. Well, Los Angeles shooting 40% from the field in this one. Oh, they get a hand on it. Jones. The pass to Walker and he got the whistle on the way up. So, he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. And he just powered through contact trying to complete the play. He misses the free throw. and he sinks the second. Oo, you hope that leaving points at the line won’t come back to haunt them. 144 left in the fourth quarter of this one. Six on the shot clock. Pass to Vincent over Jones. Benson can’t hit. And for the Pacers, they’re shooting just 24% in this one. Not great. It’s safe to say they have dominated this game. The game wasn’t even as close as the score says in a great win for the Lakers. And you don’t usually see this kind of blowout, but tonight they delivered the punishment. I mean, what’s so impressive is they never wavered in their approach. They just kept at it and showed they were without a doubt the better team. And they got a lot of great solo efforts tonight, but probably none bigger than the performance for Luca Donic. He was just dropping dimes left and right out there. Any opening that the D provided, he exploited it and found his teammates. Here’s ABC. Pass to Walker. Clea with a steal. Here’s ABC. Shot clock at five from 13. And it’s off the back of the rim. No good. Now Jones.
