Summer League with the Nets Rookies | Nets Generation

Good. You good? That’s amazing, man. I love Brooklyn. I’ve been here uh in the start of the month for a workout and I’m back here right now. I told I actually told them that I will be back and now I’m here. Five first round picks. I don’t know if that’s ever happened to be honest. Unbelievable night for the Nets. I don’t even know where to start. Well, they drafted five basketball players that have a lot of potential. They come from all over the world, all different kinds of players. Everybody’s excited to have some guys out here that like want to play in Brooklyn. Good evening and welcome to the 2025 NBA draft with the eighth pick. The Brooklyn Nets select Jagor Deon from Moscow and Bring shows it. Fade away. Got it. Oh, what a turnaround jump shot for Jaor Deon. Nolan Triade from Sha Ranton, France. Puts it up off the glass and in. Goodness me. Try look at that. Drake Pal from the University of North Carolina. Nice feet. Pow with the stuff with the 26th pick. Ben Sarah, 6’7 in shoes with polished pace, creativity. With the 27th pick, Danny Wolf from the University of Michigan. Speaking of that, talent goes behind the drives and finishes. What’s up, young? How are you? Good. Ready to do this, sir? All right. Perfect. All right. Right here, bud. Sign there. Perfect. Congratulations, my man. Official. Yes, sir. Good job, buddy. Thank you, man. Appreciate it. Very happy for you. You deserve it. Congrats again, Mah. Congrats. Thank you. Congrats. Thank you. The way I see it is these young men are part of our family now. Um, and they’re going to have to earn it. And I think that’s how it should be. Player development is going to be important, part of our journey right now to welcome these guys. And and this preparation for summer league is exciting. What’s up, Danny? What’s up? Good morning. How we doing? Good. You want to kick us off? Tell us what we’re doing. Going to Vegas, baby. A lot of the early season reports have been very promising about the 25 class. It’s going to be worth the hype. There’s always going to be guys that come out of nowhere that we don’t know of at Summerlink. So, yeah, it’s going to be a fun year. All right. So, yeah, we’re in the airport. A lot of good vibes. We’re currently boarding. Ready to have a good time in Vegas. Welcome to NBA 2K26 Summer League. We are in Las Vegas for the next 11 days. All 30 NBA teams are here. 76 games over the next 11 days and a finals. And we look forward to that one. Uh, everybody have a good day yesterday? Good. This is a nice hotel, right? It’s pretty uh, incredible setup, too. It’s It’s incredible the access that we’re going to have. So, paint touches. Okay, we will show this after any time that we play so that it is ingrained in your mind. The more the ball touches the paint, the better the possession will be. Nobody’s laying things up, shots up or dunking on us in summer league, okay? We don’t do weak. We want our disruption, our physicality to turn into easy baskets. We want points off turnovers. Okay? We want to win the possession game. We win the possession game with turnovers. Points off turnovers, second chance points, and free throws. Does everybody understand that? Okay, we got a good practice. We’re going to get right to it. Let’s go, y’all. Family on three. 1 2 3. Yeah, first time in Vegas. Um, I mean, everything’s big, everything’s fast, and I I really like it so far. Ah, practice was good. Uh, we’re still learning the system and everything, but uh, we try to play as as good as we can, as hard as we can. Just doing whatever the coach wants. And, uh, it was was fun. Listen up. Great camp. Now, now the fun begins, right? get to take all this aggression out on a different team. All right, which I believe that we’re ready for. Know this, we have a way to play. All right, we have our staples. We’ve been playing that way. All right, we play within the system. We play for each other and then we have success. Does that make sense? 2:30. Good day, y’all. Good camp, y’all. Yes, sir. Hold up. Hold up. You got another birthday. Listen up. Listen up. Another warm day in Las Vegas. Gorgeous outside. Folks trying to get out of the 110°ree heat. Coming up in a moment, the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Brooklyn Nets. Great. Excited. Ready to get to work finally. That’s a great time of my life. I’m enjoying it here with all these guys. Uh, and I got my I got the camera here and I’m happy. World champion Oklahoma City Thunder. Of course, their young team, they’re they’re going to face a Brooklyn Nets team. Talk about youth. They had five first round picks. All are here. Four of the five are going to play in the summer league opener for the Nets. It’s a heck of a freshman class for the Brooklyn Nets if you think about it. I mean, that would be a group that you could put in. You might see it Duke or Kentucky, but this is a talented group of players. You’re one of five first round pick rookies on this team. What’s the balance of trying to help one another while also trying to stand out and find your role with this team? I’m I’m ready to do whatever coach want me to do. That’s my role for this summer league is give my best effort and try my best to be efficient for the team. They can make plays for themselves, for others. They can shoot the ball. Terrific passing group. This is the foundation of the future of the Brooklyn Nets. Hey man, family on three. 1 2 3 first round picks starting for Brooklyn. We’ll get four of them in eventually. Drake Powell is here but had some minor knee issues. Here we go. Got speed right here. Trayor, this is the first time these guys have put on a net uniform to play a basketball game. Trayori hits a three there. Danny Wolf has just a really good feel. Plays with a good pace. Doesn’t get sped up and sees the floor early right there. A great job of Wolf to see this as it’s happening. steps into a three and bangs it. Now Trayori nice up and under. He’s got a great first half. Good speed, good finish. Sh got his first summer league bucket. I love Saraf by the way. Just his his toughness, his ability to get to where they finish. They’re 18 and 19. This is not a reflection of their potential or who they’re going to be as they mature in this week. It’s only day one. First day on the job. Jordi Fernandez, the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets. It’s a a different kind of summer league with all this youth out there on the floor. Very exciting to see four guys right now. You know, they’ve been working really hard and uh we believe they’ll be part of our club for a long time. So, uh that’s their first game and they’re doing a great job at competing at a high level. Yeah. We can’t drop our heads. We got to continue to work. We got a long two weeks ahead of us where we’re going to get a lot of minutes and we’re going to continue to get better. We’ve got a bigger purpose here. Let’s go. Only ways up, y’all. Keep going. What we got? Let’s go, man. Family on 3. 1 2 3. What were your first impressions of your first NBA action? Dream come true. I mean, you know, I think for for everybody who was playing today from obviously more of rookies, right? Uh, it was a special moment of accomplishing like dreams of these little kids that were trying to get here, right? How should we be pronouncing your name? We may have been pronouncing it wrong. No, that’s actually my fault cuz I trapped everybody in into this thing cuz when I just got to America, I thought it would be too hard to pronounce and it’s it’s basically Jagor, which is the same and my last name is Gmen. Gman. Yes. Gman. Got it. Yes. So, just so we have the right mindset, these next four games are incredibly important for our team and for our franchise. But we have to continue to build the habits that we believe in. So, win loss. We’re about habits. It will be a walk through out here. The film will be a little bit longer cuz there is a ton to clean up. I played in college for 3 years and I had two different experiences. So, it’s kind of just like it’s definitely new and NBA is different, of course, but um it’s been exciting and it’s been great getting to know the coaches and the teammates and some of the older guys. So, it’s been it’s been fun. All right. Uh we need reps, multiple live reps. Tomorrow’s practice is a chance to get more reps. The game will be more reps. The more reps you get, the more you’ll understand the habits, the rotations, what’s about to happen, seeing things before it happens naturally, getting to your spots offensively, and then you’ll begin to play better and better because it will feel natural. Tomorrow’s practice is another chance to get more reps. It’s got to be a good one. All right. I think you guys are going to the pool, right? All right. Bring it in. Keep stacking, man. We keep stacking every day in here, man. We keep stacking. Go ahead. Family on three. One, two, three. I said uh do you burn a lot? Oh yeah, bro. I probably burned on the walk over here already. Bro, my neck getting bro like horrible sun genetics over here. I already feel like I I literally feel my skin burning. Started in like 3 minutes. And they really prioritize rest and recovery and maximizing your body. Uh so it’s just been that a new kind of shift of mindset. They had us do a 15-minute pool recovery session. It was hot out. A lot of sun. First thing we’re going to do here, cuz it’s a tight space, we’re going to be going through some movement. All right. Just a light jog around the perimeter of the pool. All right. Going this way. Nice and light right here. Nice and light. You know, buddy hop. Buddy hop. Hey, don’t be cutting the corner on that. Pour the whole bottle up. the foot that is away from where you’re sitting into. You’re going to lift your toes up. Try to get into your hamstring. We’re getting deep into that hamstring adductor. All right. We’re going 10 on each side. We got D Wolf outside. You see D Wolf, man. You see it, man. He working on his body, bro. He forming good habits early on. This is like day two of him being a rookie. is daily habits. Sit down in the pool as low as you can. 10 reps on each side. There’s a lot of things and nuances I’m going to have to work at and kind of just getting with coaches and have a plan for the summer and just getting ready for the season. Swinging all the way through. You got to get full range of motion on each side. There we go. Hold your pants up. Hold your pants up. All right. All we’re doing here, you can take your route. You can either go normal, backstroke, breast stroke, whatever you want. Swim all the way through and exit on that side. And then you are done. I got All right. Nice and simple. Nice and simple. One at a time. Hold up. One at a time. Hold up. That ain’t All right. Go ahead. Here we go. Good. Good. Good. Yeah. That was grateful right there. You be coming. That’s it. All right. Good work. Playmaker aka playmate. Diamond facilitator. That’s good teammate work right there. I really love to share the code with them. They’re really like impressive players. I think they really love to to to to pick like players that are competitor and I think I’m I’m fit into it. uh really love to compete and I think this is what really special about this team. Everybody is here for competing also practices. So it’s it’s going to be really really fun this year. It’s day four as the fans here continue to decipher what they’re looking at and teams continue to evaluate getting ready for this run between Brooklyn and the Wizards. It’s not often that you see a team going into a draft with five first round picks. Four of those five are playing. You’re talking about a bunch of young men out here trying to find their way at the NBA level. The Brooklyn Nets are the youngest team here. Danny Wolf with three. Got it. 35% from deep in Michigan. 10 15 confident. They didn’t fly today. And that’ll do it for the first quarter. Brooklyn leads by seven. Back to Trayori. He’s got a nice shiftiness to his game. Brooklyn coaching staff feels like is his main calling card. Hey, good pass. Good pass. I got here. Hey, hug, hug, hug. Deon knocks down the three. That ball came off his fingertips nicely. Another one of those international players. Really crafty the way he can get into a gap and he goes to the cradle. Hey, that’s a basketball. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go. We need to get his rebound. That’s for me. How do you feel about the way Jay Gorg is progressing with balancing setting guys up, but also being ready to shoot when someone else has the ball in their hands? I think he’s doing doing a good job of handling everything that that we give him. I I wouldn’t necessarily call it an experiment for him to be on the ball or off the ball. We just don’t we don’t really have a point guard. We have positions on the floor and try to get to them. Hey, let’s play the basketball. Not oneonone. Basketball. Let’s go. There was a lot of good in this game in terms of cleanup from game one. We play good defense. We just need to not let them easy easy basket. We were so much more organized and we got more shot attempts out of it. Really really happy with the effort and uh it was good to go up against that type of team with that uh experience that they just got last year. I appreciate y’all guys. Thank you so much. Appreciate you. They have reps, they have experience, and you guys competed your asses off. Okay, that’s what we’re asking you to do. Keep your heads up. We’re proud of the effort. Okay, let’s get better tomorrow. They’re going to do the face scan. Then when you come out, I’m just gonna take a quick photo just for height reference over there and we’ll get a shot. Cool. Sounds good. I got my face scanned for the NBA 2K26. First thing we did is I was just staying next to the wall and they were making picture of me for the size of my body. It’ll they’ll actually add on the hair. Who knows? Oh. So, what kind of hair do you want? We can make a note. I can do dress like dark green dress. Okay. I mean, I can make a note if that’s what you really want. It’s going to be out in the No. Yeah. Uh, we’re about to do a scan for my face in 2K. I’ve always played 2K. I know this game for a long time now, and like being in it now, it’s something like crazy. All right. So, Ben, um, we have a camera rig set up here because we’re shooting a little bit of promo footage with all of the rookies. So, basically, we’re going to be trying to stand up and you’ll be looking at the ground. And then once they turn on, you look up at this lens right here. Then go ahead and start doing the celebrations. You’re going to start emoting whether it’s tapping your chest, flexing. Oh, I hate it. Coining. I know. It’s the worst part. That’s my celebration. You can do it. You dumb. There we go. Just like that. And we’re going to get your hair pushed back. It’s not how you your hair doesn’t go in the game face. You basically just see all the skin going all around so they can like rebuilding all this 3D stuff. All right. So, I’m going to run you through about 15 faces. Every face I ask you to make, I’ll make two. So, if you get lost, just look at me. It’s a big flash coming. You kind of get used to it. You kind of don’t. I’m sorry. Oh my goodness. Oh, this isn’t bad. More teeth. Eyes wide open. All right. This next one uh is where we start making faces, right? Smile. But let’s see those teeth. Mouth closed. So like you mad at somebody. Maybe that’s you mad. You’re not mad person, are you? That’s something that I understand. This next one, you can close your eyes. Perfect. This is good. Yeah, you’re all done. Great job. Uh, we got some photos. Was cool. It’s cool. Actually, excited to be in this game and uh it’s like a dream come true. Ready, bro. Ready to play with my flavor. Another beautiful day here in Las Vegas. Orlando and Brooklyn, two Eastern Conference teams. all three. That’s his summer league coach Steve Hzel said, “Look, we want to win and want these guys to see some success for all the work that they’ve been putting in so far. They’re going to have each other behind on this on the hush. Come on. Come on. Let’s be closer.” They’re thirsty for a win tonight and they’re doing it on the defensive end. But Wolf is extremely gifted. He makes good passes. He’s got size. He can see over the defense. Danny Wolf with three. Got it. Three point basket. Oh my go Wolf unguarded for three and it’s through. Second triple for Wolves this afternoon. Next up by 18 here with Danny Wolf. Danny, it just feels like everything’s really clicking for you guys right now. What’s worked so well both offensively and defensively? I think it starts with the defensive end. Uh we held them to 10 points that quarter and uh defense is the easy offense and that’s kind of our mindset right now. You saw Jagorman signed with the European powerhouse Real Madrid at the age of 15. You play for Real Madrid, you’ve been exposed to high pressure situations. Oh, and Jaor Gilman Jarman. Oh, hits the three. Two big threes here in the fourth. The lead is seven and you can’t make that. Oh, yman in the big moment. The 19-year-old delivers three big triples. The Brooklyn Nets win it 94-90. Good win. Good win. Took us a minute, but um yeah, we in the column, so no complaints, man. We were hunting for a win. We got it. It was way closer than it should have been, but he hit some big shots on the stretch. We were able to come away with the win. All of our guys are very hard on themselves and they want to perform well. And so I thought that that showed today. They both came out with a little chip on their shoulder and uh had a better game. Last day today. How’s summer have it been? It was fun. It was really fun spending some time as I was saying before with with the guys here with the other with the other teams seeing the you know some players I played in college against or you know all that environment is super fun and Vegas is it’s pretty cool. Hey man. Hey brother. Come on man. Pleasure man. I’m saying I love all of y’all man. It’s definitely new and NBA is different of course, but it’s been exciting and it’s been great getting to know the coaches and the teammates and some of the older guys. So, it’s been it’s been fun. I’m miked up, so be careful what y’all say. You mike up. Yeah, Tyrese. It was great for me and of course the other rookies, uh, you know, to get to know the system, get to know how the coaching and stuff wants to play. I think we just had to compete every day. I think it was super intensive. All the guys had to compete. Like it was was great great experience. Oh my god. Hey, good job. Good job, brother. Good job. I got it. I got it. I got him. I got him. Yo yo yo yo yo. I got you, brother. Speak for everyone. It’s a joy to coach. You try to do everything that we asked. You came together as a team. You jailed. You actually played for each other, which is an awesome awesome thing. So, best of luck wherever you’re going. Recover with your bodies. Anybody have anything? Yeah, just thank you to have the front office. You guys are amazing. The energy from the coaching staff, the players, you guys laid the foundation for what we’re all about. Appreciate everything you guys on three. 1 2 3.
