🚨NEW Jonathan Kuminga Trade UPDATE: Kings-Warriors Trade BACK ON? Warriors Rumors
[Music] Back from the dead. Yes. Could the Jonathan Kaminga trade rumors be back on the horizon as the Kaminga to Kings buzz is been resp-sparked by a Sacramento Kings radio host over at Sack Town Sports. We’re going to get into that latest report on today’s show. But before we do, I was throwing out a challenge from a friend, an enemy, a scumbag here at Chat Sports. That’s Mavericks Today host Jeff Cooperstein. He said we couldn’t get 500 likes on this video. And guess what? We’re going to put some bell to ass to Jeffrey Cooperstein and the Mavericks today. Like we’re going to put belt to ass to the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas. So like the video and prove Jeffrey Cooperstein wrong on today’s show. Look, per all reports, the Warriors have shut down sign of trade talk. So, I know like if you think I’m clickbaiting and all that stuff, like I I promise you there is new info today and new insight on what the Kings are thinking because from the Warriors perspective, they’ve seen interest and offers from the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls who never really heard an official offer from. They ended up making moves that kind of took them out of consideration. And then the Suns and the Kings had actually ended up making offers both via trade and of the offers that they would give to Jonathan Kaminga contractwise. the Kings uh offering a three-year deal and the Suns offering somewhere at least reportedly in a four-year deal. But the Warriors have kind of bulked at all those trade offers, specifically the Kings, which I think has been the best offer. This the Suns on the other hand, they do not have the assets necessary to make a trade worth it for Golden State, even from my point of view. A guy who I everybody knows who watches these videos kind of does not have have the most fondness for Kaminga as a player. But Allen Styles came in and said this about the Kings perspective. He said that it is safe to say that the Sacramento Kings do believe or at least they hope that’s going to be the case that Kaminga will continue to say, “I’m going to sign that qualifying offer.” And at the buzzer, the Golden State Warriors will say, “All right, well, we can’t afford to lose him for nothing.” And Malik Monk and a protected pick, well, that’s much better than nothing. So, let’s go ahead do the deal and be done with it. I am praying that this Allen Styles fella, I’m praying he’s a prophet because that has been the stance that I’ve had this entire time. Look, I understand that maybe Golden State thinks that getting pennies on the dollar for Jonathan Kamingo or at least from their view pennies on the dollar for Jonathan Kaminga because we’ll get into why I think that this trade is a good one to make for Golden State, but I I understand why why they would think that that’s a bad move. But overall, when you bring Kaminga back this this next season, it just creates more uncertainty, more awkwardness than this team really needs at this point when they’re trying to pursue another championship. Now, the Sacramento Kings haven’t offered a Kaminga, like I said, for three years. And it’s around $63 million. And even from Kaminga’s perspective, I’m not so sure how much how much he even loves that deal. more so maybe the stability and the longevity of the deal actually getting $20 million over a couple of seasons and all those being guaranteed rather than Golden State’s offer of two years $45 million but that second year is all on null and void anyway it’s a full team option and here is the Kings reported trade offer to Jonathan Kaminga it is actually the Malik Monk and a protected first round pick for Jonathan Kamega and Golden State would have to give up buddy healed or Moses Moody they have to give up one of those two guys Now, I’m putting Buddy Heield in this framework because I would much rather trade Buddy Heield than Moses Moody. Like, when you think about the the the age, the production on both ends of the floor. Look, I know Buddy was a little bit underrated on the defensive end uh in that playoffs run for Golden State this past year, but the inconsistencies and the overall need for Buddy Heel is probably less so than what you need Moses Moody for. guy who can guard multiple positions, who has played minutes at the small ball four when Golden State was on their best stretch of the entire season shortly after making the Jimmy Butler trade. Look, Buddy is was awesome. He had an phenomenal game seven against the Houston Rockets. He won playoff games for Golden State. But can we call him untouchable when we’re trying to make this team as good as it can possibly be? I don’t think that we can. Look, if the Kings make that that protected pick they have in 2030 unprotected for Golden State, I cannot justify holding Buddy healed out of any potential framework like especially when you consider what you’re going to get back in the deal in Malik Monk and then the subsequent moves you’re going to make in free agency after the dust has all settled here which include signing a guy like TA Anthony Melton and then you have Malik Monk, you have Steph, you have Brandevski, you have Moses Moody who can not only play the backup too but he can play some small forward for you. He can place a small ball four when Golden State wants to spread it all out. Like you have an established back court here. So I’m not necessarily like fearful about losing Buddy Heield, especially when you consider Malik Monk is another high volume three-point shooter just like Heield is. Danton Melton, another floor spacer as well. So like you’re not losing a ton in the back court by trading Buddy Heield. You are losing though in my opinion a guy who has been a locker room mainstay. somebody who’s helped get get Jimmy Butler is super acclimated to the environment here in just one season of playing in Golden State. He’s been boys with Steph, boys with Draymond. It’s been an overall great locker room vibe, but as far as the encore production goes, I I’m not going to hold Buddy Heield out of a Jonathan signing trade if it means you’re getting back Kink Monk and you’re getting an unprotected pick. Look, I get it. You lack probably some wing depth if you lose Kaminga and don’t get a player back at that same position. But that hasn’t been what Golden State stance has been. It’s been get a nice young player and get an unprotected first round pick. And that’s what you’re getting in this deal. You just have to give up a little bit more salary to go out there and do it, but your back court will not suffer. Would you guys make this trade? Let me know in the comments section if they unprotect the pick. Of course, the offer that’s out there right now, which we know if if the if Kamika continues to threaten to sign the qualifying offer and the Warriors don’t amend their offer at all. Like the Kings could end up amending their trade offer a little bit and unprotecting this pick. If they didn’t, would you make the trade? A for accept, D for decline. I want to hear what Dub Nation has to say down in the comments section. And my assumption would be that a lot of you guys would not want to make that trade, but I would because I believe you get the best basketball player back in the deal. If you look at the raw accounting stats, well, you know, they favor Malik Monk like by a good bit. Like who’s the better fit when you look at the these two players? Oh, the guy who is averaging six assists, took over point guard duties, can play elite on the ball offense, you know, for long stretches. Like after the the Darren Fox trade, Malik Monk was their point guard and he was averaging like seven assists tonight. So you he can easily take that role, let Steph work off of the ball a little bit and not try to be the hero all the time. And yes, the the efficiencies from three-point range from Malik Monk were not all that great last year, but he has a storyried history of efficient three-point shooting and it’s on a high volume. And if you asking yourself like, hey, we’re losing a guy like Buddy Heel. Like Buddy is an offthe-ball player. He’s a catch-and shoot guy. Malik Monk, all he does is need the ball in his hands in order to succeed. Well, that’s not really the case. He has a pretty diverse shot diet if you ask me. He, as far as pull-up twos go, he does does that at about a 15.8% frequency. Shoots those at sub 30%. Like that’s not it’s pretty inefficient shot. He only takes two a game. So you you take what you get there. As far as his pull up threes, like that’s 18% frequency. So he does that a little bit more, but it’s still less than a fifth of the shots that he takes on the floor. And it’s a little bit higher volume and a little bit uh worse of a percentage there. Uh efficiency wise. As far as his catch and shoot game, that’s much higher of a frequency. It’s over a quarter of his shots actually are catch and shoot three-pointers and he shot that at a 35% clip last year. That can always improve and he wasn’t in the best overall situation as far as just making shots on a consistent basis in Sacramento. That’s going to come way easier in Golden State. We saw that with Buddy Heel this past year. And then another super frequent uh way that that Malik Monk ends up taking these shots is attacking the basket, getting downhill less than 10 feet. And for a player who’s not really an elite athlete, he’s really efficient down there as well. Shoots 56% from less than 10 feet. So, he’s got a diverse shot diet. And if you guys want to bring up the fact that Malik Monk doesn’t play any good defense, well, Jonath Kaminga is not a good defender. Like, let me break it to you guys. Like, Jonathan Kaminga is not an elite defender at all. Yes, he has the physical prowess. He has the tools, the the tangible assets that you need to be a good defender, but he doesn’t have the intangible stuff. He doesn’t have what it takes in between the ears, the IQ, the effort level to be an elite defender at his position. And could guard multiple positions to be quite frank. If you take a look at the Golden State Warriors advanced playoff stats, I believe this is defensive box plus minus that they’re highlighting here. Oh, look where Kaminga is at the bottom of the team. And if you guys point to me and be like, “Oh, you’re just hating. Jimmy Butler was a trash defender, too. Jimmy Butler fell on his ass and had a literal like bruised bone in his tailbone for an extended period of time and then he followed it up with a 30-point performance when he came back.” So, I don’t want to hear jack about Jimmy Butler because he was asked to shoulder a ton of weight. He was not great in the Minnesota series defensively, but neither was Kaminga either. People overrate the absolute of out of his defense on Anthony Edwards. Ant shot 60% on on the field. And then we look to the regular season. They’re like, “Yeah, well Mkinga is one of our better overall on ball defenders.” No, he’s not. Look at this. Bball index put a a perimeter isolation defense metric out there. And Jonathan Kaminga is the seventh best defender on the Warriors this past year. Yeah, it includes Dennis Shruder. Yeah, it includes Andrew Wiggins. That those guys aren’t there anymore. But even then, when you look at Gary Payton, the Anthony Melton, Jimmy Butler, Moses Moody, Kaminga is now the fifth best defender. Like, we don’t even have Draymond Green on this list. Like, what are we talking about here? Like, Jonathan Kamiga is not a good defender. He’s not a good offensive player and he just thinks he’s way better than he is. So, Malik Monk doesn’t have those issues. I think that fits way better in Golden State than whenever you bring him back to Jonathan Kaminga because the best outcome for both sides once again is a separation. You’re not going to get what you want in Golden State, Jonathan Kaminga. and Golden State, you’re not gonna get what what you want out of Jonathan Kaminga if you bring him back. So, the best course of action is separate, get what you can from the Kings. Malik Monk’s a really good basketball player, and I think the Golden State Warriors front office, they kind of need to realize that. We’ll talk more about this whole debacle in just a second, but first, get hooked up with this awesome deal at this link right here, chatports.com/dub city. Look, they’re going to unveil new City jerseys this year, and this these colorways aren’t going to be around that much longer, but the sizes and shapes are all available with this awesome awesome heavyweight long te. I love this color scheme that Golden State this year did this year with the navy, the yellow, and the red. So, if you’re going to get something at this sick a deal, like right 35 bucks, like I would take advantage of that before they are gone. Chatsports.com/dub city. That’s chatports.com/dubcity to get yours today. I’m going to get myself one because this is a really, really dope colorway. All right, so the last thing we’re going to talk about on today’s show is we discussed Joe Leov being the main driving force in this whole debacle, and he still is. Don’t don’t don’t get me wrong, but he’s not the only person to blame. We can’t blame this on all one guy. And there’s two sides to this whole story. The Golden State Warriors side definitely spearheaded by Joe Leup and Jonathan Kaminga’s side. Spearheaded by I would say Kaminga probably first, but Aaron Turner, his agent, is completely mismanaging this situation. He is also to blame in this debacle. Aaron Turner has been an NBA agent for 11 years. You would think that he would not be easily triggered by Twitter trolls in the year of 2025, but he absolutely was. He was talking about how the Slater report got misconstrued and you’re mixing up his words. There was never a $30 million offer. There’s never even a $25 million offer. Well, I think that there was something close to that and you’re just trying to play damage control now because you thought that your client was way better than the offer that you got and he wasn’t. And then he ended up saying this to a Twitter burner that I actually missed way back when these exchanges were all going on. He said that you have no idea what we want or what we have asked for. Saying that to a person who doesn’t even have their face in their profile picture. What are you doing? How do you think that this makes your agency look? How do you think this makes you look to the Golden State Warriors who now believe that they don’t have to amend their deal? That they think you’re just going to fold because you probably are. you’re not good at this thing and you’ve actually just mismanaged your whole client’s career. Because if you actually do end up taking that qualifying offer, there is a very, very good chance that you do not get what even Golden State is offering in next year’s unrestricted free agency. You want to know why? Because it makes no sense. By taking the qualifying offer for Jonathan Kamega, $7.9 million. The Warriors first year salary they would be getting this upcoming year is over $21 million. So you’d be foregoing $14 million this year. and the chance at $24 million next year. By the way, if somebody traded for you this upcoming season, they could just accept that team option or they could decline that team option and then probably give you something similar for a longer duration of time. Makes no sense to to be foregoing all that money in the first year and then you’re foregoing that money while making $7.9 million, having no contract the following season no matter what. and you’re risking injury and you’re risking the same situation that you’ve been in over the last four seasons and that has been you don’t know what your role is in Steve Kerr’s offense. You don’t know what your role is or how many minutes you’re getting on a nightly basis. You’re going to risk that and try to raise your stock on something that you have no prior uh experience or no prior history of getting from this head coach. So, it makes zero sense for Kaminga to sign the qualifying offer and that’s why he’s going to fold. And Aaron Turner and his whole in all his antics this whole situation are a big reason to blame for all that. So that was my two cents quickly to end today’s show. How do you guys think the Kamega situation, the saga, the free agency, has it get resolved? Let me know in the comments section. Do the Warriors end up re reworking their deal? Do they not? And Kig succumbs to it or does he sign the qualifying offer and make the biggest mistake of his career? Let me know in the comments section. Make sure you are subscribed as well. Lock us in for all the latest Warriors updates and Kamega updates because we’re going to keep talking about them until it gets resolved. We’ll see you guys in the next one. The problem is, its not only kuminga that they would be trading out if they truly want Monk 😂 so they might wait still until they could trade in the regular season.
Y
Fuck that trade
The only channel has no bots because they prespam the comments 😳 How is Kumingas off season going? has he perfected his shot?
A
Hell no on melton!he jus got off serious injury! Y take chance idiots
Can’t believe I actually agree with you on the Kings trade I would do it in a heart beat!
I would take this trade offer with the promise that we stop talking ab the kuminga trade and actually start making moves in the offseason.
Yes
They’re not gonna trade Buddy Hield because of Jimmy and Steve Kerr. In addition they play him like they played Klay for spacing…
Let him take qualified offer dnp his ass all season tank his value let him walk and find another wing
D hell no that's a horrible trade gs want Keegan Murray or no deal why do you feel monk is a good trade ??
If the kings not giving up Murray I don't want it
Let the boy go….he’s not made for warriors is not consistent.he needs a young team….
D
You got us Dubs Fans jerking back and forth constantly-there's no real NEW news here. Bad handling of the entire Jonathan Kuminga situation all around from both sides.
No
Dude you are so biased and blind. Kaminga’s defense is way better than you say. “Open your eyes”.
No way trade moody. But i don't think warriors want to trade either player. System players are hard to find
You can't package anyone with Kuminga in a sign-and-trade. They can go to a 3rd team, but not the Kings.
You should change the channel name to “Kuminga Hate Today by Chat Sports” 😂😂😂
The truth is the Warriors a good draft picks. They just were horrible at developing and managing their young players. They totally destroy James Wiseman‘s confidence after his injury. They never were patient with him. They didn’t handle Jordan Poole correctly after the Draymond in. He was a big reason why we won a championshipand then he has one playoff run and they got rid of him for 38 year-old Chris Paul will only stayed one year.. They don’t even play Jackson Davis. Imagine us having Jordan Poole Moses, Moody, Jonathan Kuminga, Jackson Davis and James Wiseman. We would have been set for the future.
I Just realized first time, Jimmy Butler is gonna be playing with Anthony Milton tough
Dnt do the trade..
Better offer him a 2 plus one deal.. Trade him then.. Your take is crazy why would warriors want to get smaller.. unless you could swing Monk for a decent wing or Power forward. Monk has no more upside… why would you want him under these circumstances. Bad Trade. Warriors need more from Buttler..He Needs to score more for a max player.. why is no one blaming Buttler
This is the kind of shit you have to talk about when you make videos everyday. Good luck getting new subs
I wouldn't give up Hield in this trade. It's just Kuminga or forget it.
D the trade
It be so crazy how warriors fans give up on ppl who literally buss there ass & saved your ass. I would give up moody he went completely dark in the second half of the season. Buddy fits THE WIN NOW MOMENT w Steph dray jimmy .. & I think buddy will have an even better season next year. The only way I see warriors FO keeping moody is simply because he’s young other than that . Keep buddy MOVE MOODY
Accept
if we gave you the unprotected 1st and monk would y’all add in moses moody rather than heild?!
I am a Kuminga fan but it doesn't look like things are going to work out with Kerr and Kuminga, so I would make the trade if it meant avoiding losing Kuminga for nothing. The best thing about this trade is getting rid of Heild. He is so inconsistent it drives you crazy. No wonder other teams have traded him away. I don't want to lose Moody. Having Monk on the team would help out. But having Kuminga would be even better if Kerr would ever give him a real chance
A
I wonder if Steve Kerr pays you to make some of your remarks. There is a saying the figures don't lie but liars do figure. People can cherry pick figures they want to prove their point. On your comparison off Kuminga to Monk is that based on an equal number of minutes played per game? Also when you say Kuminga was not a good defender against Edwards that simply doesn't pass the eye test. We all watched them play and Kuminga was hands down the best defender on Edwards. Also you said his offense wasn't good in that series. My question is who else was scoring better than Kuminga? Kuminga was averaging at least 24 points per game and he didn't even get as many minutes as he should have. So how can you say he wasn't good on offense? Who was better than him on offense in that series? Listening to you continue to hate in Kuminga gets tiring.
The problem is Buddy can’t be traded to the Kings in this deal. He would need to be moved to a third team and to do that we might have to give up a future pick to dump his contract. That is the rub with this trade scenario.
You talk about Joe Lacob being the blame for this situation. I would say we have Joe Lacob to thank for trying to salvage the situation. We have Steve Kerr to blame for keeping a young talented player on the bench for 4 years while other young players with similar talent or less talent on other teams have been developing and getting good contracts. Who can blame Kuminga for taking full advantage of his opportunity to finally speak out and be heard. The real joke to me is to hear ones talk about trying to trade for the Greek Freak. Why? He wouldn't fit into the warriors style of play. May as well bench him like Kerr did Kuminga. What ever happened to the idea of making some adjustments to accommodate a player with different strengths like Kuminga? Don't say Joe Lacob is the one to blame or Kuminga's agent, when Kerr is the one to blame.
A
Take that deal. He don’t want to play for the Warriors. Let’s just move on!
Yeah I would make this trade
Accept
Another assassination video
Bro you are an idiot. You are promoting Malik Monk who is older and smaller and never played defense to a player who will be a franchise type player who is younger. The bias on this channel is ridiculous.
