there’s a debate on the greatest NBA Finals run oh it’s not even it’s not a debate when you look at who Dirk had to beat the only thing maybe close is maybe hakee Elijah on they had a run but when you look at who Durk had to beat obviously Portland first round that’s BR Roy and LaMarcus alich yep then you got to realize the next series it’s Kobe and pal coming off a championship swept them then the next series it’s KD Russ and Harden gentleman sweep then the next series BOS way Brun like how many Hall of Famers did he knock off on that run your favorite Hall of Famers from that time period got clapped on that run it was to the point where he was the best player player yeah Derk had quiet confidence not I won’t say quiet confidence he would say it to us he just didn’t feel like he needed to say it to the world he would say certain little things I’d be like o like he just be like we takeing on the big three he’s like yeah they ain’t no real big three if they really wanted to create a big three they would have came and got me

Not just who they went through…. The shots that Dirk would take, off balance, falling away, almost behind the backboard from almost the 3 line, multiple defenders in his face. And with all those crazy circus shots, on all of them, they barely even touched the net. I have never seen somebody hit their shots so dead-center. It was unreal. You didn’t even hear half of them go in.
Its not just the number of rings, but the journey he took to reach it.
Not only did Dirk defeated so many Hall of Famers, he did it without any big stars by his side.
To top it off, he stayed loyal to the Mavericks to very end and even took a pay cut so his teammates could get paid.
His one ring is easily just as amazing, if not more amazing than any other champions' collection of rings.

Dirk is the epitome of greatness and both figuratively and literally he stands tall among the HoFers as not just one of the greatest bball players of all time but also one of the greatest people of all time. That 2011 championship is still so sweet 14 years later. Dirk is legend.

I was born in '80. I grew up watching Jordan, Magic and Bird. To me, Dirk is the closest I've ever seen to Bird. Not fast, not too physical, but the basketball IQ and more importantly, the heart he played with was exceptional. Then, you add on the fact that he took pay cuts to build a better team and stayed loyal to my Dallas Mavericks for a 20 year career, he's my GOAT!
