San Antonio Spurs TRADE Keldon Johnson To The Chicago Bulls? | NBA Trade Rumors
So, could the San Antonio Spurs be trading away Kellen Johnson to the Chicago Bulls this 2025 NBA off seasonason? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net. The link to this article is down below in case in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself, but this trade would see the San Antonio Spurs receiving Patrick Williams and the Chicago Bulls receiving Kell Johnson and a 2028 second round draft pick. So, this one’s a little bit of a headscratcher to me, I don’t think that Patrick Williams is that much of an upgrade, if any, over Kelton Johnson in my personal opinion. Now, if the Spurs wanted to get a bench piece that plays some pretty good defense, I guess Patrick Williams is that guy. He’s somewhat expensive and offensively speaking, he’s a little bit more limited, I would say, uh, just in regards to what he brings to the table in that regard. So, I don’t think that makes this makes the most sense. I like Kell Johnson as a player. You know, he’s a very talented player. I think he could definitely be a trade piece in a larger trade. Like for example, if Giannis was getting traded over uh to the Spurs, I could very well see Kell Johnson being a part of the package that heads back to Milwaukee. So in that regard, I’d probably hold on to Kell Johnson. I think he’s a little bit of a better player as well. And if you’re getting a second round draft pick, plus Kell Johnson from Chicago’s perspective, there’s more offensive upside here. And I think it’s honestly a better trade for them long term in regards to the makeup of this roster. So, I’m a little bit confused why Patrick Williams is getting dealt for Kelton Johnson plus draft capital. Uh perhaps if it was a one for one, I would understand it a little bit more. But almost if anything, I think Patrick Williams should have some draft capital attached to him going to the Spurs in this case because as I mentioned before, the offensive upside’s a little bit more limited. Defensively speaking, bring some value. Absolutely. But truthfully speaking, I don’t quite get this move from the Spurs perspective. So, without a doubt, to me, the winner of this deal would be the Chicago Bulls. Without a doubt, leave your thoughts.
