Bucks sign AMIR COFFEY
So, the Buckaroos wake the NBA off season up out of this sleep and they are signing Air Coffee for a one-year deal. A guy that has been in a solid organization, well coached, winning program where you’re not able to just go out there and do anything and be able to get minutes and average about 10 points a game, 47 from the field, and 41 from three. And now if you look at like any um shooting chart when it comes to like just shooting in the NBA, like there’s all these different charts that are like, oh, percentage versus attempts that you take. And pretty much any jump shooting statistic, Koozma is at the bottom. I saw one the other day where it was like Giannis, Russell Westbrook, and Koosma, I think it was Giannis then Koozma, then Russell Westbrook, at the bottom of the last few years in terms of shooting. But no, it was just because he got to the Bucks and it’s really hard to join a new team halfway through the year. No, last five years I think Koosmo was like second worst in the NBA um and just in terms of jump shots in general. And now we are getting finally a forward that we know can shoot the ball and isn’t a liability at anything. He’s not a guy that’s just you know undersized defensively like you know we might be able to play some lineups with Gary at the three like AJ Green and Gary but then you’re going to be missing something in terms of size defensively. a guy that can be interchangeable, put the ball on the floor a little bit, and he can shoot 41% from three, but he’s also not just a spot up guy. Like, he’s a guy that in the past couple years when like guys like Kawhi Leonard have been out all the time, Paul George, there’s been some games, he’s had some stretches where it’s like 20, 18, 22, like he’s able to do a little bit more than um he does on the regular and he’s shown that when the opportunity has come. I’ve watched games where he’s gone crazy and I I just remember I have like some friend that’s a Clipper fan or somebody on Instagram that I follow and I remember they were like posting a picture of them at a Clipper game being like Amamir Coffey’s number one fan. I think they had a coffee jersey on. So I’m pretty sure Amamir Coffee is like wellliked by Clippers fans and he’s a guy that is just a solid basketball player. And so it’s just very interesting in today’s NBA where you have guys are either near their top and they end up getting way overpaid. guys like Gear and Fox should be getting paid like 3540 million. I think he just signed a deal for 55 million a year. And then you have like a little bit of guys that are in the middle, not that many. And then you just have so many guys who are just like making near the minimum where you have Gary Trent making five or six million. And now the Bucks are able to get a solid forward that is a great shooter on a one-year minimum. And I think partially it goes to show just how much better shooting has gotten in the NBA and just how much spacing there is, how teams are able to create easier looks where a guy that’s a solid forward able to do multiple things, shoot 41% from three, and he’s just like, “Oh, at the very end of free agency, I’ll take a minimum there.” That says something about where the league is in terms of talent, but also just says a lot about the CBA. And so this I I just typed this up right when I saw the news, so I might be missing somebody. And do not read into the order. This is not what I would have the rotation as. This was just kind of as I was thinking of names. But the Bucks, like I said, I’ve said throughout the offseason, the Bucks do lack any real number two. There is no number two option. There’s nobody that is even like a somewhat decent second option. There’s nobody capable of being any type of second option on this team. Gary Tren Jr., As much as we can love him, he’s not a second option on a usual team, a usual championship team. Miles Turner, love the signing, not a second option. But what the Bucks do have is just a lot of guys who could be fourth, fifth, sixth options. And Amir Coffee just adds to that where he’s just a guy that you could throw out there in your rotation and he’s going to be solid and he’s not going to hurt you in any way. and he makes up for what you don’t have for Koosma in shooting and he actually brings that at the forward position with the which is the one thing the Bucks desperately needed all off season it’s like co Anthony great signing great signing um you know bringing back Ryan Rollins but my goodness where are we going to have room for all these guards is somebody going to get traded we need forwards and finally the Bucks have done that remember the a lot of people online wanted the Bucks to get Caleb Hustan and I would have liked that as well the Hogs end up getting him I’ve been a little frustrated about the Bucks not getting any forwards, especially with the need to move on from Koozma. But I think that this right here helps the Bucks out a lot. And now he’s a guy that I think you could play fairly big minutes to 20 plus minutes a game. And that’s just got to start the conversation of tick tick tick Kyle Kosma. I don’t think they’re going to cut him at this point, but let’s say three weeks into the season his value you is clearly not going to improve at all. like um he’s just playing atrocious. He’s his attitude is continuing to kill the team. The the antics off the court. He’s continuing to act like an idiot. He doesn’t take his job seriously. If you’re not able to get any type of trade that doesn’t kill the franchise where you’re not like giving up your last first round draft pick, you might have to just open conversations of are we just better cutting ties with Kosma, waving him, and saying let’s just roll it out here with Giannis and role players galore. and not worrying about giving up somebody to get off of Kyle Kosma because now we have a forward in Amir Coffee that at least can fill that spot and play some minutes. Outside of that, you would probably need Chris Livingston to be able to step in and play some minutes or Andre Jackson or you’re just going to have to be small at the three having guys like Gary Trent Jr. play the three at times, maybe even Gary Harris and then be big in the front court with Giannis and Miles Turner or Giannis and Bobby or Miles Turner and Bobby. Maybe you have a little bit of mix matching there, but this just definitely allows the Bucks to be more flexible and can help move towards moving off of Kyle Kosma in a way that doesn’t necessarily need to bring back a small forward. You don’t have to be as picky because at least you have another forward to add to your depth. And it opens up the possibility of if things continue to be terrible with Kyle Koozma and he continues to be an unprofessional idiot and the worst player in the NBA, um maybe you could just cut him. I mean, I would just cut him, but maybe they would consider just cutting him. And so, this is a great signing all around. Solid player, no risk, position of need. Well done. And the last thing I will say, I’ve been impressed. John Horse is a guy that I don’t I think he’s a terrible GM and I don’t give him a lot of credit because I think when it comes to making tough decisions, trades, draft picks, things like that, his tenure has been terrible. But he the last couple years I’ve been surprised at the amount of like guys that I wouldn’t I wouldn’t think the Bucks would be a destination to go take like a pay cut. Like I would have thought Gary Trent you would just go play with the Nuggets where you could be a starting shooting guard after they lost um uh KCP last year. Um and uh you know I thought that guys like that Oh Torian Prince is the guy I forgot to put on here. Um, I would think that they would be wanting to go either somewhere that maybe they could get the where the depth isn’t as crazy or just more of a destination like a New York or an LA, like a city people want to play in. But the Bucks have done a good job in getting guys to come to Milwaukee and take kind of pay cuts. You know, Cole Anthony this year, Amir Coffee, you know, it kind of seems like free agents have treated Milwaukee like a destination. And so I don’t personally give John Horse credit for that. I more so give Giannis credit for that. But it’s very interesting um just the amount of guys that have decided to come play in Milwaukee where um a place like Denver that has Jokic, you don’t see a lot of guys going in going over there to take pay cuts. It’s like guys that are desperate to go sign somewhere like Russell Westbrook will go play there, but they haven’t been just loading up on guys that are signing with them. You know, they made a great trade for Cam Johnson, but the Bucks have really been able to not make up for but not get as killed with by John Horse. terrible moves by guys that you wouldn’t expect to come sign for the Bucks on cheap deals to actually do that. So, that’s been a very interesting thing to notice. But, let me know what you all think about this signing. Drop a comment, hit that like, and subscribe if you want to.

Coffey addresses much needed wing depth.
He’s a great catch and shoot three point shooter, has a good midrange but can be slow footed defensively.
The Bucks don’t have a starting calibre small forward but have got good depth at small forward.
Surely a Kuzma+Andre Jackson Jr trade is on the horizons now.
Love these signing with cheap role players and hopefully throw a few of them in a trade with a pick by deadline time for a second option
daddy horst
Prime 2024 offseason Barrett would never go 2 weeks without posting 😢
See barret? I’m watching
This team is a prime khris Middleton and a most improved player season in kpj away from a ring or 2
Kuz and AJJ for Andrew Wiggins
No Jericho minutes?
This is kind oif farfetched but what about giannis at the 3 if everything goes bad, bobby at the 4 and 5 myles turner. this probably wouldn't happen, what do you think?
Great content and Observation! I love your take on the subject matter. Your channel is gradually becoming my go to for all things Bucks! Keep up the good work!
ive been asking for this for a minute
Thank you
Barrett went on vacation? Lol surprised to see him excited about Coffee . He will replace Pat C.
You forgot TP in your list.
Wats up with the kuz hate Gesh it’s a new season new year let him refresh his self I believe he can be better this season
Coffey is a slower worse version of Taurean Prince.
Coffey is a poor mans Taurean Prince, I'd rather see Livingston get those minutes, once again Bucks shooting fish in a barrel
Love this .. he can ball
Very good pick up . He started a lot when the claw and George was out loved the way he played .
Yes!! Now plz chill on the Kuzma hate( u r even inventing bullsxxx here ag him!). He's not as bad as u make him sound, esp as a bkup 4 or 3 now that we got a solid 3.
YR Kuzma rants r undermining yr credibility. They r really getting too much and seem too personal.
I’d profile Kuz as the backup PF. It was his role in LA and think that’s his best role. At SF depth should be Prince/Coffee/Livingston imo. If they can package Kuz with AJAX and the 2031 first round pick for Wiggins I’d do it in a heartbeat.
We can’t waive Kuzma because we don’t have space for that much money after waiving Lillard. We can’t do more than 15% of the cap.
This is crazy. All the things I wanted the bucks to do this off-season they basically did it
