What’s up good people? I’m holding on tight. And my boy Mackey was holding on to that girl booty in that photo. Who? Who? That that actor Mackey. What’s his name? Mackey. Anthony Mackey. Anthony Mackie. Like he was holding on to that girl booty in that photo. We We didn’t see the photo. We didn’t see the photo. Y’all ain’t tapped in, bro. That’s why y’all see it. I tap That’s why I’m holding on tight like ready for this schedule. Like he was grabbing that booty. Well, the schedule is coming out later today. Yeah. Um, you know, well, first let me mention Phil Steele is going to be coming up later and it was a year ago that Phil Steele came on our show and he said, “There’s this guy named Kirk Signetti who got a job at Indiana.” He’s like, and if there’s one thing, it doesn’t matter who Kirk signed quarterback is. You can go back and look. In fact, when I talked to him in the off season, Curt Signetti talked to me, uh, yeah, I’ll have a quarterback and go look at what my quarterbacks have done. They win conference player of the year like every and I was like, this guy is like maybe he’s got a little maniac in him, whatever. He’s obviously, you know, look, his his press conference just became legendary throughout the year, right? It started with the I win, Google me, I win, I win, Google me, right? And sure enough, Indiana had a chance to play for the national championship last year. Do you know? I went and looked cuz of course that was the first thing I was going to look for. I’ll just give you one little tidbit before Phil Steele comes on with us later today at 1:00. Did you read the book cover to cover? Cover to cover. Look at you. No, he didn’t. Come on. He would finish that in 2032. [Laughter] The number one surprise team. So last year he he came on the show he called Indiana. You want to take a stab at it? I will tell you it’s a major conference team. It is an SEC team. Major surprise team. His number one the number one surprise team uh miss that will be better than people think they’re going to be. People think South Carolina’s going to be good. Uh South Carolina like I hope it’s not South Carolina. I love South I think South. In fact, I will tell you his top two are both SEC teams. Yeah, I hope it’s Carolina. Arkansas’s interesting. Taylor Green’s cold. I think Taylor Green is better than people think. Nope. Um Oh, Florida. Florida and Oklahoma. Oklahoma with Grand Mater cuz he he who John and the running back. They got the running. Yeah, they got the running back. Oklahoma number one. Yeah, Jaden. Surprise team. Yeah, they got that running back. Fast as crap. Yeah, Jaden from Cal. He got hurt last year, but two years ago he rushed for like 1300 yards, like 12 touchdowns or something. Number one, they’re number one. Oklahoma number two also in the SEC. It’s not Vandy, is it? No&M’s usually picked&m. Texas&M, bro. I got beat 56 to 14 last night by&M. So, probably really that little quarterback, that’s Marcel Reed. That quarterback’s fast. Their defense is ridiculous. Who is beating you 56-4? I’m not saying no names. I can’t give them that credit. That’s tough. Did the Wait, do we know him? Yeah. Yeah, he works here. Shout out to my dog, man. Somebody that works here beat you 56 to4. Have you seen him? Have you made eye contact with him today? Not today. Will you make eye contact? No. After the show, I’m going to go down and tell him, “Bro, I think you were cheating.” I texted him afterwards. I said, “Bro, that’s the worst.” Oh, you think he’s on some uh Michigan Connor Stallion stuff? Like, bro, I’m telling you, the you think he’s the Texas A&M defense is the most elite defense on the game. Mike Elco got a squad. So, don’t if they’re really good, I’m like, “Yep, I saw that coming. They beat you. You got beat. That is a beat that you got beat by 42. I can’t believe you didn’t quit.” I know. I’m a man I’m a man of principal, Verno. I don’t quit. You Come on. I don’t quit. Ask Jaylen. I don’t quit. Really? I’m a man of principle, bro. If I’m If I’m a The thing about it, I don’t lose that of I don’t lose that bad that often, but when I lose, I take it. My Shout out. Shout out Cory downstairs. I went through it last year. I told you. I was in I was I was on my headset and I could tell. It was a whole house of brothers yelling at me, “Get Ali going, Vinnie. Get O going. Get Olli going.” And I’d be like, “All right.” I was like, “We’re running off tackle.” when Ali would lose four more yards. I’m like, come on. I mean, Gordon was supposed to be amazing on that game. Sure. Sure enough, he did not have a great season. That’s what I’m saying. You knew played the game and you know exact. You know, DK know before everybody else to your point. Speed, bro. Whatever this number number zero Scooby Scooby Williams Scooby Williams uh whoever this Cashes, these dudes are fast, bro. Big and fast. So, I’m not surprised. Still steel, bro. You You got on the night. According to uh Bud Elliot’s blue chip ratio, Texas A&M has the fourth most talented roster in the country. Wow. So, wow. All right. See? All right. Texas A&M. Texas A&M and Oklahoma right there at the top of his list. You will not be surprised at number three is uh the guy we talked about the other day, Luke Altmire at Illinois. Illinois. We like him. Quarterback. I I liked him a lot last year. Uh so says that Brett Bum’s got a team that could uh do something as well. So anyway, Phil Steele is going to join us later in the show. The big news today is that the NBA schedule is going to come out and I with the NBA schedule. Now, here is something that I should know that I don’t know, and that is with the plethora of national television games that are going to be taking place this year that I don’t know which affect local broadcast and which don’t. I really don’t. I I don’t know if you can run like for years, for my entire uh television career, it has been that we couldn’t run side by side with the ABC games and uh and uh TNT, like TNT, ESPN, right? Like those are the ones that you couldn’t like run side by side. You could run side by side with like uh sometimes ESPN and then sometimes uh NBA TV, but never ABC and never uh TNT games, right? like those are the ones you couldn’t run side by side with. I I don’t know how this is going to work in terms of the local broadcast because one of the things that I did not realize which this happened, you know, during the course of the season or right after the season, it was announced that there was going to be this hundred bazillion dollar 11-year agreement for the media rights that was going on with the NBA. And so, you know, you know that they are going to be spread out everywhere. And we had our conversations about like, dude, you’re going to have to like you’re going to have to subscribe to damn near everything just to, you know what I mean, if you want to watch the games cuz there’s going to be games on here, there’s going to be games on there, there’s going to be games on everywhere. One of the things I did not realize that is true is there are going to be nationally broadcasted NBA games every single night of the week between with Peacock and Fun. Yes, Peacock Fun. Every So, so Sunday night, okay, Sunday night uh well, Sunday afternoon and Saturday night is going to be ABC, right? They’ve got like those weekends. They got Saturday and Sunday. Okay, which stands a reason Monday night is going to be Peacock’s going to do a double header. So, they’re going to have two games on Monday night. So, we talked about that yesterday where like they announced their first double header and then you said it was like a Chiefs game or something that they’re up against. Chief Commanders, I believe that they’re going to be up against. Okay. So, Monday nights there’s going to be So, Saturday night is going to be an ABC game. Uh, Sunday is going to be ABC. Monday is going to be a double header that is on Peacock. Tuesday night, NBC has a game, which I was kind of surprised by. That’s going to be on NBC on Tuesday night, huh? Yeah. I figured like I didn’t I didn’t realize that they were going to be putting regular season NBA basketball on prime time on a, you know, broadcast channel. Maybe they cancel they canled Will and Grace whatever. Wednesday nights is ESPN as it typically has been, right? Thursday nights Prime is picking up Thursdays when the football schedule is done. They are already going to have Fridays. Okay. So, Amazon Prime is going to be on Thursday nights after the football, you know, after they get done with their Thursday Night Football schedule. So, as soon as they’re done with Thursday Night Football, it’s gonna become Thursday Night Basketball. Yeah. On I love it. Prime and then Friday night is going to be Amazon Prime. So, I mean, you are it’s every night. Every night, baby. Every single day or night is going to be filled with NBA basketball the entire season. That’s good for the game because I think during the week we there’s so many times I guess they’re just getting away from football completely on Thursday nights, right? because they’re gonna they’re not doing that until after football season. Yeah. Yeah. So, Thursday night really and then once football’s done then they’re going to have NBA but there’s going to be a nationally so again we have always thought like all right you because we don’t count the NBA TV crap like those national TV games. Come on that that doesn’t count. Yeah. But we always thought like how many games you got on ESPN or TNT? That’s like the only ones. You know, the first thing stood out to me when I was reading this article that’s I guarantee you I will bet anything and again I don’t know how it affects local broadcast. I’ll bet you anything that that’s why that the one thing that we got announced yesterday that we found out about were the cup games. That Friday night game’s a that’s a prime game. Yeah. Yeah. Guaranteed cuz they’re putting it at 8:30. So that means somebody will be at 6 and then we’re going to be at 8:30. So that’ll be an Amazon Prime game for sure on Halloween. They want that Jake Laravia revenge game. Oh my god. Don’t stop doing that, bro. Dude, give it up. Tell you the second. You had one NBA player that like communicates with you over the last 20 years and you seemingly have to bring him up all the time. He responded to my DM once. Cook. Oh, by the way, can I bring something up real quick? I don’t know if people know this. One of my buddies called me yesterday. I’ll leave him out of this as to protect him, but one of my buddies, not that has nothing to do with sports media. He called me and he said, “Hey, I uh I was outside and I was talking to this guy and I welcomed him to the neighborhood and whatever and he’s going to be uh living here for a while while house gets worked on and blah blah blah. He moved to town and if I’m breaking news Oh no. Did has it been announced that Ryan Saunders is going to be the lead? That got announced. Yeah, that got announced. I didn’t even know he had moved in town. Yeah. Okay. 2008. That got It was a long time ago. Good. Yeah. Yeah. So, he was like he was like I think that happened when we were at summer league. He was like he was like Ryan Saunders just moved in next to me and I was like what? And he’s like he’s got two little kids. He’s got uh cuz he’s got like signs in his yard. Uh like for whatever one of the kids going to Los Angeles, one of them’s going to St. Jordan or whatever it is, right? Whatever it is. I didn’t even know Ryan Sanders was in town. Was it at summer league when they got announced? I think that’s when he got announced. Yeah. Grizzlies. Yeah. So, my buddy didn’t even know him and was like, he’s like, “Yeah, I just got July 14th.” He’s like, “I just got a job here.” My buddy was like, “With who?” And he was like, “I’m actually going to be a lead assistant for the Grizzlies.” And he’s like, “Oh, wow. That’s awesome, man.” That’s a very casual conversation to have. Yeah. Jalop. Did we talk about it? I mean, maybe we did. We were gone, bro. July 14th, we were gone. Oh, we were that it was a travel day. I think we traveled on that day, right? July 14th when uh I see the commercial appeal wrote a story about Okay. All right. That Ryan Saunders has gotten hired anyways. Yeah. So, one of my buddies saw him yesterday and was like, “Hey, well, welcome to town.” Hey, so good to have you, man. Ryan Saunders I was like I was like, “Ryan is a head coach.” Yeah. 43 and 94. Is that right? As a head coach. Yeah. Huh. I mean I mean that’s a higher win percentage than Tumas. Exactly. Can’t get no work. Don’t do that. Don’t do that, bro. We got to get it right. We got to get it right. Respect on the urban legend, bro. T man. I said we got to get it right. Okay, man. We’re building up. No smud on the road. I hope our I hope our early season schedule’s easy as hell. It’s It’s not. We need to build that thing up. Build some wins, baby. If you don’t count the playoffs, it’s not We count playoffs. Okay. Well, if you just need coach in those games. Well, if you count Did he coach in those games? He did. If you just count regular season though, his winning percentage is higher than Sonia. Well, don’t count summer league. Count summer league. Yeah. Don’t count summer league. What’s his What’s his What’s Tomas’ record, bro? He was four and five in the regular season. Okay. Yeah. 0 and4 in the playoffs. 0 and one and one in the playin. Coke. Okay. So, got Tumas, man. The urban legend rubber band man. We love it. Wild as a tally band. Yeah. There we go. All right. Uh anyway, schedule is going to come out at 2:00 today. Do you care about anything on the schedule? Uh opening night, home opener, uh my birthday, uh and do you want a game on your birthday or you don’t want a game on your birthday? I want a game on my birthday. You want a game on your birthday? I like I like to be around the people 18,000 people that I love the most on my birthday. Tight [ __ ] Don’t roll your eyes, bro. There 18,000 of my best friends in there. Put the corn. Give him the corn at me, bro. I ain’t the only one getting corn on this show. Shout out to my people, man. Put the corn. I love y’all, man. How you do that? I used to look for 18,000 people in the arena. Those are the people that I care about being around the most. My I just want I just want to be around 18,000 of my friends. If you like the Grizzlies, you’re my friend. Half those people are annoying as hell. And you know, hey I’m Go yell at Devin. It’s his birthday. I’m calling the post game tonight. I’m calling. I’m calling in. B. What are we going to do? We need a coming back, bro. Why is he playing contour? I don’t know. I don’t know. Why we let Huffs go? Why we Trey Huff? Speaking of Jay Huff, bro, you see Jay Huff got a better block written than our boy Jiren on 2K. Disrespectful as hell. 2K. Did he really? Yeah. Got a better block rating than Jiren. Rudy Gobear. We don’t like him. But better Rudy Goar. Better block rating than Giannis. Jaylen, put it up. Jay Huff. How about that? All right. Well, look. Look at this. Look at this, bro. God, it’s all bad news for Jiren Jackson. Look at this, man. Oh, it’s bad news. It is bad news. Look, he’s a deep boy, bro. He is. Yeah. And he averaged more blocks than Huff, too. Like I don’t like what why is Jay Huff a 90 in blocks bro respectfully this is so disrespectful it’s unbelievable like even Rudy Goar’s not on here and you know we don’t I don’t bad this been a tough run for Jiren I mean really Robert Williams guy the guy the last night last night the guy said hey you know he’s our favorite okay so I’m allowed to goof oh the crypto thing crypto is tanking he announced it last night Jiren Jackson announced partnership with crypto and the whole thing went to hell this morning. I was like, that’s just bad luck. That’s truly it obviously has nothing to do. I haven’t our crypto’s gone down today, bro. We’re getting killed. Oh, it is smashed. We had a blood bath. It has been on a rocket ship for like two weeks. And Jiren posted that last night. I Oh, yeah. That’s not good. I woke up this morning and I was like, Yeah. Yeah. He was he was getting like eviscerated in the comments. It’s because of what’s it called? Oh, no. No. Good grief. No, there was there was bad uh there’s bad news this morning. There’s bad financial news this morning. Thus, the crypto markets went right the wrong way. It had nothing to do with So, it’s like, damn, bro. Now, we’re losing money, too, how unlucky is that, right? Hey, come join me in investing in crypto. You lost your ass. Hey, I still got all my money though. You got to be longterm. Yeah. Yeah. It’s a It’s a long It’s like you told me, it’s a longterm play and it’s still not too late. You got to keep doing it. Hey, you got to be built for it cuz there’s going to be mornings when you wake up and you’re like, ah. And then there’s mornings where the last couple months you’ve been waking up and it’s like, let’s go. Hey, Jaylen, put that blocks thing back up. This is terrible, bro. Did I No. Robert Williams has like barely played basketball in the last three years. He can barely walk, dog. He blocks list. Why is he on there? Two trailblazers, two Mavs. Jonathan Isaac also ain’t played a game in like eight years. Robert Williams didn’t even play like the last like three months of the season. A Bona like what are we doing, bro? No, respectfully, no Rudy Goar, no Giannis. Adema Bona. He’s like a secondyear fighter. Adona UCLA kid. No Jiren. Like come on, 2K. Y’all slipping, bro. We I think you got some more of the list up there. J, when is this supposed to come out? When is 2K coming out? Hopefully when they fix these crap ratings what they got to fix them fix it Ronnie September I’m not buying your bull crap game September September never played the game the past your prime Ronnie the best ever this might have been I don’t know if you were here or not, but the best one ever is 2K came out and they had the alltime Grizzlies team and they had like Courtney Lee on it or whatever and Tony Tony went off on Ronnie 2K for like an hour on the show. So mad and we got off the we got off the air and his agent called him and was like, “Stupid ass, did you ever fill Did you ever fill out that form I sent you so they can use your name and likeness on the game?” And he’s like, “What form? Classic Tony is classic. Yes. He thought he he was trashing them for not being on the alltime Grizzlies team. And he’s like yelling like right at the camera at Ronnie. And he’s like And then like right after we got off the air, his agent called was like, “Dude, did you ever fill out the forms?” He’s like, “What forms?” Classic TA. You got to check your email. They got him in the game, though. They ended up getting him back in the game. You got to check You got to check your email. Hey, I will say Jiren got disrespected, but that Grizzly, one of our Grizzlies, I want to see if y’all can guess who got some love in 2K this year. They’re on a top 10 list, not named John Mar. Scottie Pippen Jr. Oh, damn. How’d you get that that fast? Because you love Scotty Pippen Jr. Why? You do. You do love. You’ve been on his nuts all summer. No, no, no. No, no, no. I told you I’ve been on his nuts all summer. I told y for two years I’ve been telling you how cold Scotty is. You have been telling us for two years Scotty Pippen Jun is cold. For sure you haven’t. For sure you haven’t. Remember when luckily these shows are recorded. For sure not. He’s not going to be in a rotation. He’s not going to be a productive player for us. He’s the only one that hooped in the playoffs. That’s not true. He is the only one that put the list back on. Dude, he is legit the only one that played well for us. By the way, Matis Cyball also ain’t played a game in eight years. Why is he on this list? Chris Dunn, respectfully. Ke I didn’t even know Matis Cybel was still in the league. Yeah, two two years ago it was not Scotty Pippen Jr. The only thing he talked about was Vincent. He’s new Tummani Kamar, right? Is it? I thought I thought that guy took his spot. Who? Tmani Kamar is the new Thyball. Yeah, he is. Except he’s like better. He’s a better version of Thyel play, bro. No, he doesn’t play. He played like How many games? Let me see. How many games you think Matis How does Tyson Daniels not have like a 110 in steals? Yeah, he should have 100. I swear. The dude averaged like four steals a game. Desmond Bane agrees. Bro, don’t do that. Y’all got to stop doing that. I mean, I got I got Kawhi for taking the ball from him the other day. You can’t do that. Why do all of our jokes end up like Desmond Bane gets the ball taken from him? Those are all by the way. Matis D played 15 games. And in fairness, we made these jokes when he played for us. Yeah, right. We did. We absolutely did. These are not new because he’s gone. No, no, no, no, no. Hey, by the way, you know, I saw there was a uh that the uh the floorboard uh sent a thank you note to the front office. He’s not going to get beat to hell anymore by muscle dribbles. The floor muscle dribbles. I thought that ball was going to go through the I thought it was going to go through the thing. He evolved, bro. He He evolved. Remember his first year he was dribbling like he he dribble hard. He was dribbling like Popeye’s first year. He evolved though. Shout out DB man. Des we win it. We win it. Um anyways. Yeah. So uh Scotty Pippy Jr. getting great. We’re going to celebrate. He got ninth in steals on 2K on a list that Matis Styel was number one. He played 15 games. Okay. 2025. How many people do you think like casual NBA fans even though Matis Styel’s like still in the league? No. He was probably in the Thible mom doesn’t know. He’s still in the league. Like, why don’t I ever hear from you, dude? The bubble was six years ago. He was popping in the bubble, bro. That was six years ago. We do have Jaw on the list, though. What? Jaw’s on two list. He’s on the driving junk list and he’s on the speed with the rock list, which there were some people saying, why did they give Tiar Fox 2004 graphic? What is that? What are his eyeballs, man? back 2004. That’s tough. All right, that’s a that’s a fastest with the ball. Yeah, John Dean Fox. Jamal. Jamal shed. Yeah. What is What does he do on this list? Jamal shed. What in the heck? Yeah. Shout out Houston. I see Car on this list. He He barely Jeremiah Fears hadn’t even played an NBA game yet. Yeah, the these lists are wicked. Okay, I like Maxi. All right, 2K. Look, all everybody that plays 2K hates 2K every year anyway. I don’t think Thompson is like It’s not like he’s some amazing dribbler speed. No, but he he’s the fastest human. Oh, no. He is. He’s like just the fastest human. He’s the fastest human. Yes, that is for sure. So, anyways, uh Devin’s going to look forward to 18,000 of his friends at his birthday. Will you give a better answer than him, please? He said my birthday in the home opener. Like, he’s freaking 11. Um Yeah. He’s like, “Did you care about your birthday?” Did I ask Did I ask about the schedule to Haley, my 12year-old, or Devin? He’s like, “I can’t wait to go to the game on my birthday.” The two things I’m going to look at are when is our first game? When is our first game? And is there a game on my birthday? No smug, bro. I’m looking forward to my birthday. Look, man. Hey, and home over and make sure we don’t have a game on my ex’s birthday. What are you looking for? Cuz I want to make sure I’m in the arena so I don’t have to run into her. What are you looking for? You’re going to check your ex’s birthday against the schedule. That is insane. [Laughter] Still, it’s still on your mind, man. Look, bro. We got Look, I get it. It’s fresh. It’s fresh. Looking forward to trying to He wants me to answer this question so bad now. It hurt him because it hurt him the most. No one has ever taken a password away. Nobody in my That one hurt. Like he’s gotten yelled at, probably slapped, whatever. But he has never gotten the Netflix taken away. He was more upset about that than the jersey. No, that that’s to his core. That hit me. That hit me right here. I tried to open that Netflix and that door said sign up. I said, “Oh, that’s disrespectful.” That that that’s over over. Yeah, that’s all right. We are never ever ever getting back together. We are never ever ever beat ass dude over there. I I listen I listen to it. I listen to the Taylor Swift pot. I’ll get to it in a minute. She cooked. What are you looking forward to? Uh home opener is always the absolute. It is. The home opener is the best. Said the same thing and your birthday cuz you want to spend it with 18,000 of your closest friends. Well, so we play the day before my birthday. The lamest thing I’ve ever heard. I don’t know if we play on my birthday. We play the day before my birthday here, though. We do cuz they already announced that it’s one of the cup games. Um Oh, then we won’t. We’re not going to have back to back. I don’t know. I’ve got I’ve honestly I got to see the hustle schedule first. I’m not but I’m not going to see the hustle schedule for another couple weeks or whatever. So that’s when I’ll know what I’m really So your answers may be worse than mine, really. Yeah. No, it might be. Wow. I need to see the hustle schedule. Bro, the players on the hustle don’t care about their schedule. Rosie, your answer may have been worse than mine. They probably don’t even know who they play for. All right. I I I honestly I’ve got to find new people to do this show with. I asked you, “What are you looking forward to your schedule?” And this idiot said his birthday and you’re like, “I don’t know. I need to see the Hustle schedule first.” All right. So, like I would There are things I would look forward I’m going to need to see the Huffle. There used to be things I look forward to. There used to be things I look forward to. like like your birthday. I mean, usually New Orleans whenever we would play on the road to New Orleans cuz I would usually I’d go to a couple. Oh, there we go. But I don’t drink anymore, so I’m not going to Now it’s like what do I look forward to regular season home games? Like I I don’t know. I used to like circle. I know we’re going to be gone on that day. Like MLK, there used to be a legitimate That’s another one. I look forward to it. Like now it’s not there. Certainly got to be players. I don’t I mean we’ve seen all of them. Stev Wim, I don’t care about Cooper flag, bro. I respect it. What? The day before my birthday, Cooper Flag. Like, I don’t care that what like it’s not circle. You don’t care. Racist. Wow. Don’t you start that narrative. That’s crazy. These weirdos and these kind of That’s crazy. What are you talking about? What are you talking about? What’s crazy about it? You don’t care about I don’t care. I’m not circling when Cooper Fl come to Memphis. I I mean, I’ll be here. I’ll be like, “Yo, Cooper.” But he is when Ace Bailey comes to town. cuz he’s a black player. Get him, Twitter people. Don’t do that, bro. Look, bro. Look, they always try to cover me. Fight like the rookies are always fun because it’s this is the first time we ever get to see that is always fun, right? The first time that you get to see all those guys. I I would say of the guys that like I care about like seeing in person, Curry is still right there. Yeah, Curry’s WBY I WY might be too. It’s not just Wimi. It’s I’d say Curry and Wimby and then maybe Edward. It’s a I like seeing Edward. It’s the f It’s the Fox Wimby combo. They only played like five games together last year. So like we haven’t even seen it. I don’t care about the Fox. I mean those last I was trying to make the Spurs sound more interesting. He hit the game winner cuz we again it cost the man his job. That was the It literally cost the man his job. stretch where he got spooked. He wasn’t even trying to win the game. No, he wasn’t. He was literally attempting to lose the game and we would not snatch the We kept letting De’aran Fox go left, cross back right, elbow jumper. You know what? I’ll say this. I I honestly I think I when Oklahoma City comes here because I think I think I think within our fan base and with like within the the And we got smoked. We got smoked. Yeah, we got they killed us in the playoffs. So, I think within our fan base, the energy is there and I think our players want to beat them, too. I honestly I think I agree with the NBA. I think they, you know, in terms of the guys that they’re obviously going to put on national TV more, they’re the ones I like to see. I mean, obviously, you we’re setting Curry and LeBron aside, right? But of the young ones, Paulo, Cade, Wy, LaMelo, LaMelo, I love to see I love watch play. Yeah, I know. But he’s not they’re not putting him on TV. Yeah, that’s true. They’re not getting behind him. He plays 20 games a year. He really does. No, he does. I sent y that thing the other day. No, he does. He never plays. I’ll tell you this, sneaky cuz he doesn’t play much either. I always will go if Zion’s playing. Yeah, for sure. Zion is underrated in terms of like witnessing it in person. Hopefully we get all, you know, hurt and all that kind of stuff. Yeah, right. But I would say Zion’s like he’s still up there in terms of like when I when we’re I don’t care you know about the Pelicans games but like he is he’s one that I get excited to watch play basketball in person right of the guys that like I have seen before. I mean and again I’ve just I mean I watched him that year when they were coached by Van Gundy and he ran point guard. Yeah. I mean that was one of the that was the most unbelievable things I’ve ever seen. I’ll never let go of that. Yeah. Like it was like you turned the corner just a superhero. You can’t forget that. It’s always It’s like that. I saw that. It happened. I remember I came on the air the next day and I was like there’s nobody to say guard him. We tried with like Dylan and JV. Yes. I was like unless we’re going to go like sign Aaron Donald. We’re not stopping this guy. like he was just I mean that was that was seriously like something out of a Marvel movie. It really was like how is this guy doing if you he was just way too big for your too fast for your big guy. It’s the tight end thing. It’s the Antonio Gates Tony Gonzalez thing. Crazy. Yeah. So early Zion the Rockets I think too. I think the Rockets would be fun. Oh, especially Durant. Rockets will be fun. I think I’m going to circle Rockets. Yeah. Yeah, you’re right. Uh Rockets. OKC. And they’re getting behind them, too. You can see that they’re on that national TV schedule already. The ones they’ve already announced, they got the Rockets on there. Yeah. Like big games. Yeah. Like and premier like headliner games. Yeah. Big spots like Yes. They want them to be that team. Yes. So, that’s one of them. How you are you excited for the Jay Huff return, Rosa, when he does? Juff? No. I mean, he like you know, but Goh. No. Jay Huff never DM’d him. Oh, he Okay. Yeah, the people that actually he interacted with are the ones he loves the most. The one he interacted with. Jake Laavia. My guy. Shout out Jake. He is maybe the one that like y’all have gone back and forth in DMs. Huh? Oh yeah. Yeah. It’s just about like Yeah. I don’t care about the basketball stuff. Like if Santi ever DM’d you, would you would you flip? Would you change your mind about Santi? Why would that’d be so weird if he DM’ me out of nowhere. Um, and I maybe if he if I were him at sometime I’ I’d break down and just be like, “You know what, man? F you.” Probably could just send it in Spanish and I’d have no idea. I just have to try. I think I think Fu is still in Spanish. Well, how do you say FU in Spanish? I think I think I think he I think Santi Alama actually says FU. No, he for sure does. I don’t think he I don’t think he says it he doesn’t have to say it in Spanish. People desire ever say what’s up. Look, this means a baseball card’s about to come out. He’s going. Where’s he going? It usually means a baseball card’s coming in. It’s not in my notebook. Bad stats. Remember I broke this out last year? I had sent y’all and you told me you go, “Is that just a bunch of bad Santi stats?” And I was like, “Then I wrote it all. Hold it on, Rosu.” Hey, so it’s really not though. This is my This is my notebook of bad Santi. This is my whole That’s his whole career. It’s not It’s not bad Santi stats. This is my No, no, I’m saying stuff. Oh, great. Congrats. All right. You guys said you uh you you listen to it, too. So, last night I texted you guys the screenshot. Um once I saw it bouncing around, I didn’t realize it was at 6 central uh 7 Eastern last night that this uh New Heights podcast of the Kelsey brothers was going to be dropping with Taylor Swift. and you’d seen the clips prior to this and I sent you guys this. So, I pulled it up on YouTube on my phone uh cuz it said it was live and I was like, “Oh, they’re running this thing.” I mean, it’s obviously taped, but they’re they’re running it as a live thing with a chat and whatever. And it the screenshot I sent you guys, it said 1.1 million viewers. It was 10 minutes into the podcast. And I was like, “Bro, there’s a million people watching this 10 minutes into the podcast. God knows what the number is now. What’s the number? You You look I I think they said it was over 10 million already. It is at currently 10 million. Yep. 10 million. 18 hours ago. 18 hours ago. I mean, that’s outlandish. 10 million is crazy, bro. And I ain’t going to lie. It made And I have never been a Taylor Swift fan. It made you like her. It made me kind of like her, bro. She like very very human humanized herself a lot like just seem like a down to earth chick. He is enamored. You know what I’m saying? Oh, he is smart. Can’t you can’t you? He really is. I know. Look. Look. I think you know we can all I think it is very easy for people to roll their eyes and think like, “Oh, it’s an act.” Bro, you can tell. Oh, no. Yeah. You can tell that like they’re in they’re super into each other. Like I watched that thing and I was like, “Bro, they’re getting married.” I’ve always had in the back of my mind that, “Okay, this is eventually just going to last night watching that I was like, that’s the I was like, oh no, this is they talk like a couple like it’s been married.” Yes. Right. You can tell they love each other. N it was it was super dope cuz like you think you you think of Taylor Swift as this like figure, right? This like Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. larger than life. You know what I’m saying? Larger than life figure human being. Like, bro, she was just on her talk about everything. Everything. Her talking about having to bake sour she’s baking sourdough bread to package up and give to him to have at training camp. Yeah. Him talking about he he be making her watch some them videos of alpaca on Instagram. Like I’m otter all that kind of stuff. I’m like that’s the kind of stuff you just you think you talk about off the mic. They brought on my I think you I think I think we’re all in agree. That was really good. I thought I I was I look, it’s a it’s a huge uh I mean it’s obviously one of the biggest moments in sports podcasting history to be able to get her on and obviously we got extenduating circumstances as he is her boyfriend but and evidently she requested to be on uh to hear her tell it, right? Like they were never going to ask her to come and do it and she had never done a podcast before. So you got all these things colliding, right? biggest star in the world, never been on a podcast before. It’s on a sports podcast with this guy that everybody writes about all the time and this power couple and whatever else. Um, so I didn’t really know what to expect. Other thing is it’s super long. Yeah, it is. It’s really long. Like I didn’t think that I I figured it was going to be a short deal. It was going to be like, you know, quick. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But um I And I gotta be honest with you. Number one, I was entertained. Number two, I thought Jason Kelsey asked like actually very interesting questions because it’s not easy, right? You’re almost like a brother-in-law kind of thing and he’s sitting there with your brother, you know, but I thought he asked, you know, reasonably good questions that elicited good answers. You could tell that you could tell they all kicked it before, too. For sure. You know what I’m saying? You could tell they kicked it before. So, it’s like you could tell he could tell what she was comfortable talking about, right? Or what she’s not comfortable talking about. So, like that was Yeah. Like her being human, bro. I think that I think that’s the part, too. Like some of these f people don’t think they’re human, right? I used to listen to talk her talk for two hours about everything. Y T Swizzle’s human, man. Like I loved it. I I am I’m not a I’m not a Swifty, but I’m shocked. I rock with you. I had it in the background while I was playing the game last night. Yeah. Um I am surprised that you even cared. I didn’t. Yeah. I look, bro. I I I have to be a part of pop culture. It’s just that big of a moment. It’s a big moment. I got to be a part of what the culture’s talking about. You know what I’m saying? So, I put on the background while I got my ass kicked and caught some ball. Roser, you think that was smart of me to buy that Kelsey rookie refrator when we were at the national? Maybe. So, look who’s calling it all. Who Who’s big Who’s bigger than him right now? Yeah, he’s on the cover of GQ right now, right? Some of those pictures. I need that hat. Look like Razor Raone. I need that hat. That big fur hat. I need that hat. She was I need one of those. when she talked about like I some of it there’s a lot of it that I haven’t gotten through all of it because it cut out. You remember there was that glitch on YouTube last night that where it just like I watch I did it this morning. Okay. So I watched it last night. I was watching it live like whenever they loaded up and it glitched out after like an hour. Oh. And so I haven’t gotten past like the first hour of it yet. So the so the first hour when she talks really about the music industry and getting your masters and going into the differences of what your masters are and then what your publishing is and she’s like I had publishing but I didn’t have my masters right so if someone wanted to take my music and put it on a commercial or whatever I have no say so over any of that stuff like she’s going when she’s going through with the difference I thought like that stuff is great cuz there’s a lot of people that don’t know about any of that stuff or understand it or understand Yeah, we live in a world where people are We live in a world, bro, where people are robots everywhere they go. Everybody get into a microphone. We talk about this. We have this conversation all the time. People get into a microphone, they they turn to robots now, right? She didn’t turn into a robot. No, she was great on it. She was great. I might be a Swifty. She was a really good guest. And And look, I will say uh couple things that I learned. I had totally forgotten about she until she mentioned it. Uh Taylor Swift credited the podcast. The reason she wanted to go on the podcast is because she credits the podcast for their relationship. I totally forgot that element of this that he shot his shot on the podcast saying he wanted to date Taylor Swift and then it like kind of got out there. What a crazy story. And then the other things that stood out to me, I don’t know if you got to this part of the pod. I There were a couple things. The first is he went and saw her at the Aerys tour. Yeah. and then tried to get backstage because he just figured I’m Travis Kelce and it’s an arrowhead and I’ll be able to walk around anywhere. And she said it’s not 1973, [Laughter] which is a funny line except I am stunned that Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes couldn’t go just anywhere they wanted an arrow head even if Taylor Swift was there. Wouldn’t you? I would have thought that they honestly I think John Morant could walk anywhere he wants in FedEx 4,000%. Right. I think so that’s what I that I view it through that prism. Right. Travis Kelsey and Patrick Super Bowls here. He was with Mahomes. Okay. I would bet you this. If Taylor Swift was playing FedEx for him, John Morant could not walk anywhere he wanted to in the arena. I think that’s what it is. You’re probably right. He is way more famous. Like dude, you’re not just going to be able to walk around where she is. Yeah. Maybe her, maybe like Bruno Mars, maybe like uh who was another Ed Sheeran. A lot of famous music artists that just get Rolling Stones. Yeah. Paul McCartney. Like you’re not going to just McCartney. Yeah. He’s about to play the Pinnacle in Nashville. And then he’s playing literally every major stadium in the country. I can’t believe he’s playing stadiums. Unbelievable. Small venue in Nashville. Oh, is that right? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. The Pinnacle. Yeah. But Oh, that’s that’s okay. You know how much you know how much those those You know how much Pinnacle’s got. Yeah, that’s true. How much they’re paying for that. Yeah. Shots of And to take and to have their big clients be able to come in town and tell them that you’re going to Paul McCartney at a at a venue named after our business that’s reserved for people who are who are Yeah. Yes. Yeah. Anyways, uh the but him not being able to walk around Arrowhead. He she mentioned that he like I guess tried to get to the meet and greet or whatever to be able to meet her and they were like, “Yeah, no, you’re not.” Which that’s got to feel weird if you’re Travis Kelsey and Arrowhead Stadium and the person’s like, “Sir, do you have the proper pass? Where are your credentials?” Yeah. Where are your cred? Like, I don’t know. A freaking billboard outside. Is that a credential? Look at them Super Bowl. Look at them Super Bowl banners up there. Yeah. Does that work? I played enough. Not with Taylor Swift. It doesn’t. So, anyways, I had totally forgotten that that’s how he ended up with her in the first place was he went to the concert, then shot his shot on the podcast, and then ended up. And then, uh, the other thing was that uh after they went out, they evidently they hit it off well. She said her dad is big buddies with Andy Reid. Yeah. And so, her dad was like big buddies with Andy Reid. And so, that kind of helped the situation. And evidently she like uh loves football now. She had like just started to get into it. Oh, the other one was she said she walked in with a mask and a hat in general admission at Soldier Field. I was like that is crazy. Crazy. Yeah. Can you imagine she just walked in the front door of FedEx Forum? That would be wild. There were all kinds of people like just families and football fans walking in with her. She now she said she was with his big buddies and they’re all like tall guys, but still Taylor Swift just walking through general admission to go into the game with a mask and a hat on. Like I would have never That’s got to be the only time she has ever walked through general admission anywhere ever. Right. Yeah. Ever. Bro, she’s been famous since she’s like 15. Yeah, it’s true. She been rocking for a long Did you see that story in the Daily Memphian about uh she did a concert right up here when she was 17. Yeah, it was super cool. Yeah. Uh they even had the video from it. Yeah. They had the video of her playing uh your song. Maybe they can uh Oh, there the guy who owned it, his daughter was a massive fan and he made it happen. Maybe they can uh maybe they can get her here when the Liberty Bowl gets totally done. Let’s do a T. I’ll be there, bro. I’ll be there for the TW. Oh, the Liberty Bowl. She could do what? How many nights in a row you think she’d sell out the Liberty Bowl? As many as she want. As many as she wanted to. 35 nights. People, you don’t understand. People go from all over the country because the tickets are so expensive. Tickets are crazy. And so like even uh Gary and Brad went to uh one of our other buddies uh when they saw her the the the only way they could get non outrageous tickets. Yeah. Was in Minnesota. They saw her at the Target Center in Minnesota or whatever it was. No, the field. The field. Whatever. Where the Vikings play. Stadiumadium. Yeah. US Bank Stadium. Yes. That’s where they went to go to the concert. I don’t my They just They booked a flight. Yeah. To go because the tickets are that expensive. I mean, they were Of course, my daughter wanted to go. They were over two grand. My girlfriend did go. She went to New Orleans. How much did she pay? Do you know? I’ve not asked, but I’ve What do you think? You think over 1,500? No, I think it was between a I think it was like between a,000 and 1,200. Oh, for what? What? She go Nashville? No, New Orleans. New Orleans. New Orleans. She said it was so worth it. Like it was absolutely worth it. I mean, it’s a three and a half hour concert. Yeah. And now there are rumors about her Easter eggs that she’s dropping. Oh, I’m tapped into this world. You know, she drops Easter eggs. She talks about the Easter eggs. She does talk about the Easter eggs. The rumors are there are some rumors that this may be playing into a short Las Vegas sphere residency. Oh, the showgirl thing. There’s also rumors. There’s also rumors of maybe a Broadway play. There’s also rumors of she’s trying to do the Beatles anthology thing. There’s Oh, yeah. You’re going to get old cloner for those. The girlfriend is on Taylor Swift Tik Tok. So I saw all these videos last night. She plays into So evidently when she was on this podcast, she was talking about how she plays into that. She knows her swifties are looking for this stuff. I saw one today where somebody screenshotted the thing and the three books that are behind her in the podcast all have meaning to something and did it. And I was like, see what some people are saying. But which is crazy except she does it on purpose. So the album so that you will try to figure it out like they’re all like freaking Taylor Swift detectives. She was supposed to have an album called Karma that was going to be orange. The album was going to be orange. She ended up not putting out that album. She put out Midnights instead. And the last song on Midnight’s Karma. So now this album TS12, The Life of a Showgirl is orange. And they’re thinking this is going to be what karma was supposed to be. She’s now back at this point in her life. This dude Taylor Swift Tik Tok girlfriend’s on. I said I’m there’s also you watch your girlfriend sitting in bed. I mean I can hear it and I’m like what in the hell are they talking about and yeah I’m watching. What what if TS12 is a slight to TB12 because she’s a Mahomes chick and not a Brady? There is there is one of her nemesis who has destroyed his own career in America, Kanye West. Oh, the life of Pablo is an orange album. The life of a showgirl is an orange album. There’s there’s some windor and the most famous orange is Frank Ocean and she loves the ocean. Hey, by the way, how do you handle the life of the life of Pablo has famous on it which has the line about Taylor Swift. How would you handle this? Because we know you’re a Kanye West stand and your girlfriend. Do y’all have do you have a little is there a little Not at all. No, he’s just conceded. He’s He’s at Swifty now. When you when you play Kanye in the crib, does she say turn this [ __ ] off? No. No. No. She likes it, though. He’s got timeless music. Like, well, she likes it. He’s got a new documentary coming out. He does. He does. In whose name? Yeah. It said it’s going to be in theaters. I was like, what theater? Yeah. Not in America. Not in America. Where you put Where you put it at? Yeah, I know. cuz he released them them flip-flops the other day. People like, “Bro, we don’t care.” Mike Tom voice, “We do not care.” Like, Kanye, it’s over, bro. Pack it up. It’s over. We don’t care anymore. I am I am very surprised that I am coming in here today and talking about this uh Taylor Swift podcast with the Kelsey brothers. And not only did both of you guys listen, you both liked it. Yeah. Yeah. We’re in agreement. Yeah, we agree. We’re in agreement. It was good. It’s because, bro, like I said, we spend so much time watching these people on microphones say the right thing all the time. And I think and they don’t say how they really feel. And I have to hear her just laugh and joke and say this and say that. Yeah. Like I don’t think we truly got who she is. But I think we got I think I think it would take her going on like Rogan to really like sit down and have a conversation with some like she is talking to people she knows. So there’s stuff she’s not going to talk about. But if she really would just empty the clip on everything, like put her in a situation like that. Go with Broen. But two hours though, it’s it’s hard to be PR for two hours. That’s right. No, I thought for sure. Shout out T Swizzle, man. Yeah, I I don’t think you can fake for that long. [Music] He’s upset. He doesn’t matter. He’s been on it. He’s on it. All right. Before we get we’re going to have Phil Steele on I I was trying to read this thing earlier today about you know so they announced the uh AP all time allamerican team for uh college football which these are like obviously if you’re naming an alltime all-American team this is going to be unbelievable also something they should try to get in the football game right if they could get this in the football game that would be awesome uh and I was What? Why now? Like it just seems random to me, right? That there why why evidently it is the news organization, the AP’s uh celebration of their 100th anniversary. So they got a 100red years of like naming all AP all-ameans. And so that’s why they’re doing like the hundredyear team. Did you guys see the list by any chance? Okay, so the wide receiver, this is so good, too. The wide receivers, Randy Moss and Larry Fitzgerald. The tackles, Orlando Pace. Yeah. And Bill Freighic, who played in the 80s for Pit. Uh, the guards, John Hannah from Alabama, Jim Parker from Ohio State, who played in the 50s. Center, Chuck Berk, who played for Penn in the 40s. The tight end. Do you want to take a crack at it? Uh all-time AP all-American tight end. Tight end. Who was super ridiculous? Oh, Kell Winsow. That’s what I would have said. Yeah, Kell Winsow. The junior. Yeah, junior. The Miami joint. That’s what I would have said. My first game or Shocky. Yeah, Shocky. They were both ridiculous. Not tight end. That was Tyler Warren. I It is a current player. I was stunned by this all time. the Kyle Pitts. You loved this guy in college. In college. In college. You loved him. Loved loved him in college. I also saw that uh he got internet bullied into shaving his head. Oh yeah, he did cuz he had a receding hairline. He looks ridiculous. By the way, he was a rookie last year. Roser, this dude? Yes. Oh, that’s who I’m talking about. I’m talking about This is the guy. Is it Brock Bowers? Brock Powers. Powers. Yeah, he’s a he’s a all time all American. I mean, he is ridiculous, bro. Dude, Powers. The quarterback is Tim Tibo. Okay. You can’t go wrong with that. Then the running backs Barry Sanders and Hershel Walker. Yeah. The kicker Sebastian Janikowski. And allpurpose Johnny Rogers from uh Nebraska who I believe won two Heisman Trophies. So, there’s a lot of great players that obviously weren’t on there. Defense, Hugh Green, who played in the late 70s for Pit. Randy White, cowboy great, played at Maryland. Dominans Sue. Yeah, he was ridiculous. Bronco Naggerski, who has an award named after him. He played in the uh he played for uh Minnesota in 1929. We remember it well. Yeah. Um linebackers Dick Buttkus, Derek Thomas, who was a monster at Alabama. And then uh Chris Spielman. Yeah. From Ohio State. Then the corners Charles Woodson and Deion Sanders. Yeah. Safeties Ronnie Lot and Ed Reid. And then punter uh Tory Taylor who played for Iowa two years ago. Should have been Tom Hornsby. Unbelievable. Tory Taylor all time. I I think Bowers was the one that I was like, “Wow, he was the only one that I was like, really? a hundred years. Yeah. I mean, Bowowers, you got to be the best guy out of all 100 years. I mean, I will say we saw Carson Beck last year without Bowowers and Lad Mani. It didn’t look too good. He didn’t look too good. And he also had an amazing rookie season. Yeah, he did. Yeah, he looked like that. He was first team. He made first team all pro last year. remember his freshman his freshman year we were like what is this fre what in the groonowski is this he also you remember when I saw him in that golf thing he wears big pads he looks way big dude if you ever see him in street clothes you can’t believe it’s Brock Bower he looks like a normal human being he wore the 1983 pads yes that golf thing he was like the oncourse reporter and when they said now we’re going to go down to the course and Brock Powers I was like what the hell Hell. Ain’t no way. Ain’t no way. The dude. He has like narrow shoulder. He’s not even like he is super like small. It’s so weird cuz when you saw him out on the field, he like had these huge shoulder pads on. I’m like, “Oh, this guy is he’s tapering.” Make himself look huge. Shout out. He is awesome, though. I just I that that stunned me that somebody from two years ago was named the all-time greatest. You can’t say that they were giving any uh love to the old head, right? Like I mean you figure just Yeah. Hell, you could have named somebody from the 40s and we wouldn’t have known any better. Yeah. [Music] The most important college football magazine you can buy every year is Phil Steele’s college football preview. Uh and every year we are joined by Phil Steele. Last year, you will recall, Phil Steele came on this show and informed all of us about Kirk Signetti. Next thing we know, we’re watching Kirk Signetti played for a chance at the national championship last year. We didn’t know who that was when he first came on the show. And so, we’re going to talk to about this upcoming college football season and the new magazine that is out right now. You can catch it on the website. I I got mine at Barnes & Noble actually in uh New York City in Union Square. That’s where I bought it at. Barnes & Noble there. So, uh, first time I bought one out of town, but that’s where I saw it first. Uh, Phil Steele joins us now. Hey, Phil. Hey, Chris. How the heck are you? Appreciate you, uh, picking up the at that Barnes & Noble. That’s their, uh, their home office there. Union Square is, is that right? Yeah. Yeah, they had it right there. You know what? Prominently displayed, so you’ll be happy to know that. I love it. I love it. I love Barnes & Noble, by the way. they uh instrumental in helping my magazine succeed. There you go. And by the way, let me just mention this. There is a brand new one in Memphis. I was driving by on Germantown Parkway by there’s one next to Trader Joe’s in Germantown now. A new Barnes & Noble. So, they probably got Phil Steels magazine right there if you want to go by and grab one today. All right, Phil, I gave you credit because last year you came on the show with us and you told us about Kirk Signetti and surely you did not think it was going to go that well for Indiana last year when you were playing him up to us. Uh I tell you what, he had a heck of a year and uh you know this you look at the schedule, the players he brought in from James Madison with them. And here’s the interesting thing about this year’s Indiana team. You know, a lot of people thinking they’re going to take a step back, but when I went over with a team with coach Signetti this year, they may actually be a little bit more talented than last year’s squad across the board. The big question mark for Indiana this year is going to be the schedule. Whereas last year, they only faced one winning team on the road. That was Ohio State. This year, they have to play Iowa, Oregon, and Penn State all on the road. But if they win that Iowa game, they’ve got a shot of getting back to the playoffs this year. All right. Well, LA, so the question I remembered last year was, “All right, give me some new coaches or a new coach that’s going to be somewhere that you think can make a profound impact.” How about this year? Whether it is the head coach or maybe it is coordinators that have been brought on board, who are some of the new faces that we’ll see on the sideline that you think will have a profound impact on the programs they’re going to be taking over? Yeah, let me start with the coordinator at Oklahoma and uh it’s Ben Arbuckle and he steps into a really good situation because last year at Oklahoma they had zero returning starters on the offensive line. They lost their top five receivers at one point to injury and naturally they struggled on offense. Well, this year they have a much more veteran offensive line. They get those injured receivers back. Plus, they added in some players and they go from a weakness to a strength of receiver. Uh you take a look at the running back court. They add in Jaden Nod who was the top running back out of the pack 12 two years ago to team with Javvante Barnes. And then they bring in John Matir who was his quarterback in Washington State last year. All of a sudden Oklahoma has an offense to go along with that outstanding defense which last year held opponents to 87 yards per game below their average number six in the country. Now this year was Oklahoma uh has a a better schedule. It’s still tough but last year they only had three SEC home games. This year they only have three true SEC road games. I think Oklahoma can go from six and seven all the way to potentially even making the playoffs this year. Oh wow. Yeah, you have them as your number one surprise team uh in this year’s edition of the magazine. Interestingly enough, number two is also an SEC team. That’s Texas A&M. Tell me why Texas A&M is your number two surprise team. You know, uh, last year for starters, uh, Mike Elco is three for three and outperforming my expectations. Last year in the final game of the season, they’re playing Texas for a birth in the SEC championship game. That’s how surprising Texas A&M season was. Now, it didn’t finish off great, losing four of the last five, but I think when you look at this year’s squad, they’ve got a veteran quarterback and Marcel Reed. And when I went over the team last year with coach Elkco, he told me, “You know, Phil, I think we’re going to be middle of the road in the SEC offensive linewise. This year, when I talked to Coach Elco, he said, “Phil, we’re top tier SEC offensive linewise. In fact, we’re a Joe Moore award contender. I like that. When a coach tells you like it is, and they have that type of offensive line, they’ve got three running backs that could be feature running backs almost anywhere. Leon Moss, Ruben Owens, and Amari Daniels. And then they add in a guy like Casey Conpion at wide receiver. Uh Mario Craraver coming in from Mississippi State. The defense is topnotch once again. And uh I think when you look at the Agies this year, they do have to play Notre Dame, LSU, and Texas all on the road, but pull one upset and this team makes the playoff this year. Which of the teams So you were talking about, you know, how they were able to rack up with talent. Um, who do you think like got the biggest talent influx that is going to be coming in? Like, you know, now with especially with transfer rules, NIL and everything else, teams can really rehabilitate themselves in one off season and it’s your gig to have to try to keep up with all of this. Um, in terms of like teams that improved their plight drastically this off season, uh, I would say one team that really stands out is Texas Tech and all the money that they brought in for Joey Maguire as head coach. Uh, and they had an experienced team to begin with. They were number five on my experience chart and they bring in a ton of top-notch quality transfers this year. I think Tech may be one of the most talented teams in the Big 12. Now, my problem I have with Texas Tech is the schedule. If you look at Joey Maguire, 15 and five at home at Texas Tech. However, just 6 and 10 on the road. And this year, they do have to play Utah, uh, Arizona State, and Kansas State. Three of the top contenders in the Big 12 all on the road. They’re going to have to get start playing well on the road to actually win the Big 12. But I think they uh they could go from middle of the road to the Big 12 to maybe the most talented team there by. You’ve seen the AP poll has come out, the coaches poll has come out. Uh, give me a couple of teams that Phil Steel is uh much higher on than the consensus and then we’ll get to uh maybe lower on than the consensus. When you see those top 25 polls, where do your numbers or your predictions uh veer off the most? Yeah, probably Oklahoma for starters. I think Oklahoma has a shot at making the playoff this year uh especially after being six and seven. I do believe they made the top 25, but barely at the bottom. and that’s probably because I had them in my top 10. So, I think they’re a little bit underrated this year. Uh, another team that uh probably is underrated this year is Clemson. Uh, and when I look at Clemson, uh, Kate Clubnneck, ack two years ago, had a 19-9 ratio as a starting quarterback, but that’s because his receiving core was all banged up. They had lost their top three receivers prior to the season. Last year, he got those injured receivers back. They added to the mix and all of a sudden 36 touchdowns, six interceptions. Uh they got my number two set of receivers to throw to, number two offensive line. I think Clemson’s got the most potent offense in the country. And defensively, last year they gave up 374 yards per game. But if you look at their roster on defense, they are talent laden with NFL guys and they bring in Tom Allen as defensive coordinator. I think their defense gets back to playing like a Clemson defense should. Then you look at the schedule, I have them favored in all 12 games. So, when you look at Clemson, I’ve got them number two in the country, which I think is higher than the AP poll has them. How about lower than when you look at the top 25 that came out for the AP in the coaches poll, you go, “Oh, wow. I I did not think they were going to be ranked that high.” Well, I thought they would be ranked this high, but I don’t think at the end of the year they will be ranked this high. And it’s South Carolina. And it’s not because I don’t like the talent of South Carolina. I mean, they’ve got Lenora Cellers, Superman, back at quarterback and uh I think that uh when you look at the head coach Shane Beamer, he’s doing a great job there. However, last year the strength of South Carolina was at defensive front seven. They were absolutely dominant. In fact, I’m on the Joe Moore award committee and in one of our phone calls, one of the members brought up the fact that their offensive line that we were reviewing got outplayed by South Carolina. Another guy piped up, everybody’s offensive line gets outplayed by South Carolina. They were dominant, but this year they lose six of their top seven guys off the defensive front seven. Yes, Dylan Stewart’s back, but he’s going to be featured by the offensive lines. They’re going to put double team, triple teams on him. I think teams are going to be able to uh control their defense better. And then look at their schedule this year. They have to play, these are road games now, Missouri, LSU, Old Miss, Texas A&M. They’ll probably be an underdog in all four. And at home they have to play the affforementioned Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma, and then they play Virginia Tech at a neutral site. I think it’s going to be tough for South Carolina to get back to the level they were last year. And heck, last year they almost they deserve to be in the playoff. How you you mentioned Alabama as one of the teams that they have to play. I wanted to move on to them because uh how do you gauge it when you don’t does it matter to you who they announce as the starting quarterback or is it fine no matter and how does uh how does Dbor get that thing back on track because they are going to be on his ass if he doesn’t have an awesome team. Yeah. And we’re not going to have to worry about Kaylin Dbor after this year because Alabama is loaded. And uh let’s take a look at last year. Nick Sabin’s your head coach, right? Uh and he steps down. Now it’s Kayla Dbor coming in. You had your saving guys. You had your Dbor guys. I don’t know if we had a complete team last year. This year, how many players hit the transfer portal? Hardly anybody. And they now have all bought in for Kaylin Dbor. And each of the units I rank in my top 10 in the front of the magazine. Now, when you have a new quarterback, if you have a young offensive line in front of them, that’s trouble. If you have a young receiving core or uh that’s trouble. But he’s got Ryan Williams back. He’s got my number nine offensive line. They’ve got a loaded running back room. I think that Ty Simpson, who did very well in the Manning Passing Academy, has a fine year, and he’s probably a better fit at quarterback in this offense, which brought brings back Ryan Grub, by the way, as offensive coordinator, than was Jaylen Milro last year. So, I think the offense just fine, defense loaded with NFL caliber guys. And when you look at the schedule for Alabama, I’ve got an underdog in one game, a four-point dog at Georgia. That’s a winnable game because they’ve sort of had Georgia’s number. This is a team that’s not only an SEC contender, but a national title contender as well. And remember what Kaitlin Debor did in his second year at Washington. He took a less talented Washington team all the way to the national title game. Keep your eyes on Alabama this year. They could very well get there. All right. Uh I asked you earlier about coaches or coordinators. It could have a profound effect on the new program they are with. Let me ask you about quarterbacks. Um obviously you mentioned Matier when you were talking about Oklahoma and how high you are on them. Are there any other of the transfer quarterbacks that you think have a massive effect? Because we see these guys all over, whether it’s Nico at UCLA or Agalar at Tennessee or it’s Castellanos at uh you know, Florida State, on and on. There’s so many of these schools that have uh the new quarterbacks that transferred. Any of the transfer quarterbacks that you think are going to have a huge effect on their new program? Yeah, one that stands out to me is at Iowa. It’s Mark Granowski. Mark Granowski has been at South Dakota State the last couple years. Led a couple of national title teams. He’s a guy that’s a dangerous runner and passer. And if you look at Iowa the last two, three years, they’re a team that’s had banged up quarterbacks. They their starter gets injured early. All of a sudden, they’re playing backup quarterbacks all year. So, I think you get a large upgrade at the quarterback position for Iowa, especially if he can stay healthy. And he’s got a good offensive line in front of him. Now, Iowa for years had a top-notch offensive line, but then the last couple years they’ve sort of been down on the O line. Well, now they’re back to standards on the offensive line. You mix that in with the Mark Growski. You mix that in with the defense, and I think he’s going to have a heck of an impact at Iowa. All right. Uh, all right, Phil Steele, what should we be thinking about uh our local team, the Memphis Tigers? I’m bullish on Memphis. I remember last year everybody was picking Memphis to make the playoff and I had Boise but one of the reasons for that was Memphis’s road schedule and when you look at Ryan Silverfield 28-6 at home 10 and 13 on the road and guess what lost at Navy lost at UTSA. Well this year toughest opponents for Memphis uh are basically at home. They get uh Tlane at home. They get Navy at home this year. They get South Florida at home. You look at the road opponents, Florida Atlantic, UAB, Rice, East Carolina, all in the winnable category. I love the situation this year for Memphis. Now, they’re losing uh what, four, five year starting quarterback and Seth Henigan, but Brendan Lewis impressed me. Two years ago at Nevada, an inaccurate quarterback, but last year much improved. And I think with the surrounding talent he’s got like a Sutton Smith a running back uh and the the deep backfield they have there. You got two NFL caliber tackles and Travis Burke and Chris Adams and they of course hit the transfer portal. All that FedEx money on defense. I think Memphis is going to have a heck of a team this year and nobody’s picking them to win the American Conference, but now the schedule is flipped. The toughest games are at home. I like Memphis to win the American Conference and be a playoff contender. Wow. Yeah, cuz you only have them below on your nonp power fives. Uh I think Boise and Toledo, right, are the only two teams that you had ahead of them. That’s right. And uh you take a look at the the schedule this year if they get past Arkansas at home, which is definitely a winnable game. This is a team that could very well run the table and and Boise’s got a road a roadblock in front of them. They have to play Notre Dame on the road. Toledo’s got a roadblock. They have to play Kentucky on the road. Keep your eyes on Memphis. They uh they could surprise this year. Yeah, I like that. you like in and you said something positive about Lewis because I think people have looked and they’ve gone well this guy yeah he started a lot of games but he didn’t win a lot of games at Nevada but you uh you kind of fancy him huh yeah you do you take a look two years ago I wasn’t wild about him the completion percentage the ratio but last year Nevada actually surprised me in a lot of games they were a very inexperienced team last year they were one of the least in least experienced teams in the country and Lewis almost led him to upsets on a weekly basis and he finished hitting 68% % with a 16-7 ratio. So, greatly improved in all areas accuracy-wise. Dangerous runner. Didn’t have a great supporting cast last year. Has a much better supporting cast and a more veteran offense in front of him this year. I think he’s going to have himself a fine year, especially if he shows the improvement he did from 23 to 24. So, last year I remember you telling us that you talked to Signetti, you talked to Billy Napier, you talked to a lot of these different coaches, especially when you’re trying to do your research and you’re trying to put together the magazine. Who is the coach or coaches that you talked to while you were putting together the magazine that you ended up leaving the conversation thinking differently about that team and where you were going to uh rank them? You know, the one that uh might stand out to me is might be uh Lance Well, two of them. Uh number one, Signetti uh because as I mentioned, I thought they lost a lot from last year and this year I actually feel they have more talent than last year. The other one’s Kansas and Lance Lelay. And I’ll tell you why. Last year when I went over the team with Lance Leold, he’s like, “We have a senior offensive line, senior receivers, senior running backs, everything was seniors, senior laden team.” So, in my head, uh, heading into the phone call with him, I’m like, “Wow, they lost a lot of seniors from last year.” But, they’ve got Jaylen Daniels back at quarterback. I like what they did in the transfer portal. The particular players that they brought in and they actually they returned Foster and Baines and the offensive line. The receiving core is probably upgraded. Last year’s underachieved. So now I’m actually thinking with Kansas where originally I thought down definitely down that after losing so many close games last year and they finished beating three ranked teams in a row at the end of the year. Kansas could surprise some folks this year and they’re actually going to be better than last year. Even though I thought after losing all those seniors, they’d be weaker. How much harder has putting this magazine together been in the NIL era? Ridiculous. Just ridiculous. This uh this second portal is a killer. Uh Chris, I I think when you take a look at it, uh you know, the portal closed the end of April. So, I used to be able to go to the press in the middle of May because I’d be talking to coaches after spring practice ended and some teams spring ends in March. So I could talk to coaches after a week when they have their post-exit interviews. This year I had to wait till the portal closed at the end of April. So now I’m trying to cram 136 coaches calls and they take like an hour plus a piece all into the month of May. Couldn’t even do it. I had to drag 13 calls into June and even then I couldn’t talk to them all. There was 10 coaches I couldn’t get to because of the schedules and lining everything up. And then you’re trying to rewrite the magazine all in the final couple weeks of the of this the magazine process and get this thing to the press at the start of June. I think if they keep the second portal, I may have to move the print in the magazine another week back next year. Oh, really? It’s that it’s I mean, it’s just too much information that you’ve got to get in there in a short amount of time, right? Yeah. It’s And to adjust nine sets of power ratings and make all the changes and you do learn a lot talking to these head coaches about their squad and how they feel about it. Uh it it is it was very hectic in the month of May and end of June this year. Yeah. And how are you still able to have such a successful magazine do you think? You’ve seen what’s happened to the magazine industry and yet still people rely on it. I mean is it part of you know in terms of like just the business of being Phil Steele and having this thing for so long and it standing the test of time like me going to a bookstore to buy a magazine. I will be honest with you, Phil. This the only magazine I have bought in like I don’t I don’t know when I don’t know when the last time outside of maybe like an airport if I bought like a golf digest or something just to read on the plane. But other than this, it’s like how do you think that this is especially with the internet era and everything else that you’ve been able to pull this off with still having a relevant product like this even though? Yeah, that that’s a great question, Chris, and I’ve got a a definitive answer for you. It’s actually quicker and easier to use than the internet. I’ve got two full pages on every team. All the information you want on every team is on those two full pages. Now, if I asked you for a score from three years ago, you could close your eyes and point to the part of the page where it’s on. If I asked you who the leading rusher was last year and how many yards he had, you could point right there. Uh if I asked you the starting left tackle was, you close your eyes and point right to him. All the information laid out, same spot, every page. You have access to the internet, right? Let’s go to the Kansas homepage. All right. Find me a score from three years ago. What are you 10 clicks away from actually finding it? Because all the websites are laid out differently. How about the Leading Russia from last year? Three, four clicks away. It’s faster and easier to use than the internet. That’s why everybody in TV and radio uses the magazine because it’s quicker to to research things. And uh I think just that the it’s like getting 136 media guides rolled into one except a lot better because all the information is in the same spot on every page. Yeah, I I agree with you. It’s and it’s been able to stand the test of time as a as a magazine because of the resource that it is. All right, before I let you go, you got you might as well fire off to Phil Steele about questions you have about the season before we get it done with them. All right, Phil, I I got to go do cuz cuz they’re in the area. Uh Miss obviously replacing Jackson Dart with Austin Simmons, which everything seems everybody seems to think that kid’s going to be great, but Miss’s defense was great, was really good last year, and they got to replace a lot of guys there. And then also the team east of us, Tennessee. Yeah, you you hit it on the head with the defense. That’s probably my biggest question mark. I think Simmons is going to come in do well. Now, he’s not going to be Jackson Dart this year. We saw Dart in the first preseason game look pretty good, but Simmons is very solid quarterback. They’ve got a ton of offense going on. Defense is the question. I thought last year’s defense was the best I’d seen in a long time. But you look at the schedule, it’s manageable. The road games at Kentucky is winnable. uh at Mississippi State winnable. The other games are all at home. They do have to play Georgia and Oklahoma on the road. Those are the only two games that have them a clear underdog. LSU at home is the big game. If they beat LSU September 27th at home, Old Miss is a legitimate playoff contender. And then with Tennessee, I think they would have been top 10 had Nico stuck around. He’s gone. My question mark with Aguilar is the fact that he’s in his third offense in a year. Most quarterbacks will say, “Hey, I’ve had three offensive coordinators in three years.” He was in the App State offense. He learned the UCLA offense. Now he’s got to learn the Tennessee offense. Uh, also the offensive line, only has one starter back. The top three receivers are gone from last year. The super running back, Dylan Samson, the all-time career leader at running back gone. Defense still looks solid. I like the defensive front seven. I think they’ll be good there. Tennessee has a favorable schedule. They were going to be an underdog at Georgia or against Georgia, I should say, at Alabama and at Florida. Other than that, it’s a pretty favorable schedule. The the key game for me is home against Oklahoma and maybe maybe that Georgia game if they could pull an upset, but I I just think they lost too much on offense to get back to the 10- win level they had last year. I I want to ask about Mike is Mike Norll due for a bounceback season in Florida State because they he got a little Casanolas from Boston College. Is he due for a back bounceback year? Because you know his I got my number one most my number one most improved team in the country this year which means I think they’ll have the biggest increase record-wise after winning just two games last year. Now keep in mind Norville’s hit home runs in the transfer portal market and both 22 and 23. I think last year what happened was he had a transfer portal leading team. Things started to go bad and when things start to go bad uh all of a sudden if you don’t have that team cohesion things fall apart and that’s what they did. Well, this year after Alabama, which I expect them to lose the opener, they play East Texas A&M, Kent State at Virginia, all winnable. I think Florida State gets off to a better start. They’re not going to lose the team. I like the transfers they brought in. And Castellonus is such a fit for this offense. Why do I say that? Gus Mzan recruited him at UCF and signed him there way back when he was a freshman, and this is the same offense he was recruited for. So, a much better fit this year. They’ve got upgraded across the board talent-wise. And I think as with the schedule, you know, after that Miami of Florida game, they play Pit at Stanford, Wake Forest, lot of winnable games on the schedule. I see a big increase record-wise. If they’re going to be an ACC contender though, they absolutely have to knock off Miami on October 4th. Do that and they could be an ACC contender. I have an underdog in that game, but that could be the surprise game of the season if they pull that off. Phil, you talk about how you’re against the clock like and the calendar in terms of getting this uh this done and you and you want to get it to press when you do. Um stuff happens after you go to press, right? Uh you learn new things. Uh maybe a guy gets hurt, maybe a guy transferred, whatever whatever might happen. Is there anything or are there any things uh plural that uh the magazine comes out and you wish, God, I wish I could go back and change that? Great question. And my answer would be not yet. Uh, you know, even the, uh, Retszlaf moving from BYU, uh, I expected Jake Rhett to not be on BYU this year when I wrote the magazine. So that’s why I picked BYU where I picked him. Uh, and as far as him moving in and taking over the starting job at Tulain, they already had three veteran starters there that had starting experience under their belt. I don’t think that’s a big upgrade. And the good thing is with the magazine, we go to the press 5 weeks after the transfer portal closed. So, we pretty much captured every single signing. If you didn’t sign in five weeks after the portal closed, you probably weren’t worth signing. So, uh, so far nothing’s happened. Maybe something’s going to happen in the next couple weeks. You never know. But, uh, right now we’re in really good shape. And your opinion has not changed on anything that you put in there because obviously you put you you attach your names to all manner of predictions in this. Yeah, I probably the only thing I might have changed, you know, I’ve got Michigan four and then I’ve got Illinois and Indiana tied for five. I’m going to tide those guys all at at one spot because Michigan does have to play Nebraska, USC on the road, Oklahoma on the road, and Ohio State at home. But that’s a really really minor difference. But in in I’ve done like 200 of these shows so far this summer and uh during the course of me talking about all the different teams, I’m like, h maybe I should have tied Indiana and Illinois with Michigan. That’s probably the only change I would have made. That’s pretty high accuracy. If you if you if you’ve had the magazine come out and you wouldn’t change anything about it. You know, we love the magazine, the book the experts cannot do without Phil Steele’s college football preview. You can find it on Phil’s website. You can also find it I got mine at Barnes & Noble. You find at local book sellers. Phil, you’re the best. Thanks, buddy. Hey, a lot of fun talking football with you guys today. Thanks for having me on, my man. Thanks, Phil. Phil Steel, college football preview. There it is. The goat. The goat, bro. and he starts reeling off. Think about all those power four teams he’s got to know. But when this dude just rolls off his tongue, the two starting tackles for Memphis like it’s nothing. Off the top of the dome, man. Yeah. You know, I bought this thing for more than 20 years. Yeah. Like literally. That’s a thick book, too, bro. That’s a thick book. It is honestly the best 20 bucks I spend every year for for Yeah. for I mean for college football for college football because like he was saying you can flip is all you have to do is get to the team and then you’ve got like here’s what happened I use this all the time especially throughout the year for gambling purposes it’s immense because you can go back and look I can tell you so I I flipped to Wake Forest right I can tell you what Wake Forest did every year going back to 2020 I can tell you their schedule and who they lost to. So I can tell you like, okay, so the last three times they played against Georgia Tech and then and he’s right, it is faster than going through the internet and trying to look up every freaking result every year cuz you can do it with every team. It’s amazing. Feels so good. Hey, bullish on Memphis. I love it. Hey, did you like freaking John Rev, John Ball sneaking that in there? He couldn’t help himself. He couldn’t help himself. Hey, sweetheart. He couldn’t help himself. I talked to Phil. I made sure I got I made sure I mentioned Austin Simmons. Hey sweetheart, I I asked him about he says that hey sweetheart, I asked him about miss for you. Yeah, I asked him about Austin. I said, you know, Austin Simmons shouldn’t be a big drop off from Jackson Dart. Shut your ass up. Yeah, bro. Shut up. She ain’t listening to watching the show. She is. She does listen to the show. John, she does not. John Rip, did you know? Hey, Phil, did you know he’s already graduated? Roger, how many how many Old Miss games you going to be at this year? Do you know I do you know I have a Heisman Trophy bet on Austin Simmons. Man, so shut up nerd. I may go to the Florida game in November if we don’t have a game. If we if I don’t have a hustle game and we don’t have a game here, I may try to go to Florida. Are you going to wear Are you going to wear old miss polo? Oh my god. No, I’m not going to wear she’s she’s And you go and you would go Oh, he’ll have a coach’s polo. He’ll have He’s going to have freaking croakies on those glasses in no time. The chubbies. You got chubbies on. I’m not wearing chubbies. The Vineyard Vines Coaches Polo. The Cro The Croakies. No. Yeah. I want you to wear a red t-shirt. Hey. Hey. Don’t act like them on clouds aren’t in the mail. Yeah. On the way. That was just on the way right now. No. Hey. Why you saying no? I’m not wearing on clouds. Not there yet. I wear Adidas. Hey, you know when Hey, you know when we’ve really lost him? Oh, no. No. I’m wearing Adidas. Yeah. What? The vest. When he get when he get when he straps No. When you have a real vest, like a real vest with a polo on underneath it. When you wear the vest, like a Peter Mar vest or something. I’ve got a Peter Mar quartzip. Yeah, you do. I got that I got that thing for like 15 bucks at TJ Maxx. Shout out TJ Maxx. Fake. It’s Peter. It’s fun by me. That’s a not that’s a and not a M. I don’t care. Peter Peter Noir is crazy. Totally cool with that. So Roser, what’s your favorite? And it’s got a hole in the I love I love it. Does not have But I also haven’t pulled the tag off of it yet. So you can take it back still. Hey, you going what you going to wear though? You going to wear sparies? I mean, well, if I’m in November, I’ll probably wear jeans and a hoodie. Like I’ll wear jeans and a hoodie. John Rev had Rosa right there. The Matt Luke special. Strap up, [ __ ] Matt Luke wore like the Colombia shirt. Like the Colia Old Miss shirt. The fly fishing one. That’s Ros for the for the football season, man. Yeah, Ros. Yeah, I can see right now. Ros. Hey, Phil. What about Austin Simmons? He likes Austin Simmons. He said he wasn’t as good as Jackson Dart. It’s going to be a downgrade. Downgrade defense ask about Simmons. Yeah, I know. I asked about Old Miss. I think that also matters with the whole time not asking about Miss and Tennessee and they’re like I mean, let’s be real. They’re Let’s Never mind. The two biggest programs in the area. We’re being real here. Wow. Hey, don’t forget we If we’re being real. Yeah. Don’t forget we got something to do at Memphis next week. So, go ahead. Keep that same energy next week. Keep that same energy. Keep that same energy. Keep that same energy. Keep that same energy. I want you to keep that same energy. You going to wear your Austin Simmons jersey when we go broadcast from the Tigers field. Let’s be real. Like one’s the SEC, one’s the American. Like we’re dealing with different level. There’s levels to this. Wow. I next week I want you to ask Ryan Silverfield about what do you think about Austin F. It’s like I’d love to have him as my quarterback. Ken Spencer voice. I wouldn’t have to get a kid from Nevada who won three games. How dare you, bro? I dare you next week to say you’re wild for that. I am broadcasting from the third biggest. I know he likes Brendon Lewis. Oh, he does. He likes Memphis. Yeah, I think we’re going to be good. He said we got a chance for a playoff. Roser, next week, make sure you say when we say say, “Hey, I’m broadcasting from the third biggest program in this in the state. So happy to be here.” Ro, how do you feel? Wow. I want you to keep this. He I don’t think they’re the third what the third biggest program in the state. Yeah. And also and and also you forgot that Derek Mason’s coaching in Murphy’sboro. So you got to rank them higher too. Derek you said that not me. I did love that he made me feel vindication on my like my one of my favorite win totals is the South Carolina under. Oh go to hell. Yeah. We we we we’re rocking with Lenores. I could I could rocking with and you should too. He’s like the only quarterback that’s ever worn glasses. Yeah, you’re rocking with the glasses guy. Blind. Him and Rodrigo Blankenship were all we had is the glasses. Rodrigo Blankenship. Is he on the team right now? No, he lost his job. He’s he was making YouTube videos trying to get signed for the year. He really was on social media. He’s like, “Look, I can make a 63 order. Sign me.” Nope. Yeah, we ain’t doing that, bro. We got the schedule coming out in 20 minutes. I’ve I’ve also I’ve done I’ve thought about this. You know something else I’m looking forward to on the schedule? If we play on New Year’s Eve. New Year’s Eve. New Year’s Eve. Cuz it’s You don’t want to play? I want to play on New Year. Oh, you want to play? It’s always fun. Okay. Yeah. Great. For who? For all of us. Okay. Yeah. For who? And your 18,000 friends. Yeah.
