Sacramento Kings TRADE Malik Monk To The San Antonio Spurs? | NBA Trade Rumors
So, could the Sacramento Kings be trading away Malik Monk to the San Antonio Spurs this 2025 NBA off seasonason? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself, but this trade would see the San Antonio Spurs receiving Malik Monk and the Sacramento Kings receiving Jeremy Sohan, Kelly Olen, and a 2028 first round draft pick. So yeah, this trade’s intriguing to me because Malik Monk’s a player that has been talked about for quite some time now in regards to a trade candidate this off seasonason. All signs point towards him probably being dealt at some point either prior to the start of the season or after. His value is relatively high last year. He put up some pretty good stats, you know, about 17 points per game, just under four rebounds and about five and a half assists. So his numbers were pretty good in regards to more maybe more of like a glorified six-man role. I think Malik Monk would definitely thrive in that situation and he’s a pretty important part to this Kings team and if they want to go after someone like Jonathan Kaminga for example, I think making some room on their roster by getting rid of Malik Monk is probably the best course of action for them in that regard. So if you’re able to sign Jonathan Kaminga or get him via trade and you move Malik Monk out, it might not be a terrible idea to kind of reshape the roster. Uh get back some young assets here in the form of Jeremy Sohan and a future first round draft pick. And it’s always good to add a veteran like Kelly Len into the mix as well for this team in Sacramento. So from the Spurs perspective, they’re getting back a really solid pro. Um I think he makes this team deeper. You’re not sacrificing too much in regards to uh draft capital and young players that maybe you could use in a future trade. So this would still allow them to go after players like Trey Young or players like John Morant or players like, you know, Jiannis Takmpo or whoever the next star player is to be on the trade block in the future. So, this wouldn’t take them out of that. They had a good young player. I guess not really a young player, a good, you know, middle-aged player in Malik Monk. He can provide some more depth coming off the bench. Uh, play more of a six-man role, and that could be a great thing for the Spurs team in the long term. Now, from the Kings perspective, I like Sohan. I like the first round draft pick. I like Oolen as well. Maybe if you get Jonathan Kaminga, this does make some sense, but if this is the only move that you’re going to make in this off seasonason, I probably wouldn’t do that in my personal opinion, uh, from the Kings perspective. But in saying that, still if I had to pick a winner of this deal, I’m going to go with the Kings. I like the first round pick. I like Sohan. And if you’re able to get Kaminga, it’s kind of the cherry on top. But as always, leave your thoughts.
