Atlanta Hawks Sign N’Faly Dante To A 2-Year, $4.5M Offer Sheet
Yo, what’s going on guys? Real quickly, Nefali Dante shot blocker out of the University of Oregon spent last year with the Houston Rockets. And the report is from my colleague Michael Scott at hoopsite.com. The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to a 2-year $4.5 million offer sheet with Houston Rockets two-way restricted free agent Nfali Dante. He averaged 15 points on 74% shooting, just under 10 rebounds, two and a half blocks, and a steal a game in the G. He’s a mammoth of a human who is a great shot blocker. And for a team like the Hawks who have needed basically another big to just round out their reserves to make everybody feel good about it or about the the whole roster on paper. It’s not like it was a must, but if you were just seeing the the depth chart and we’re going like, “Oh, what is the one thing they could do to maybe beef up the interior?” Cuz right now it’s Trey Young, Dyson Daniels, Zachary Reese aka Rashana and Jaylen Johnson, Kristoff Porzingos and Congo Asay, Newwell. It’s a Asay or Assa. It’s Asay, right? Asay. Assa. It’s Assa. Now I’m dude, I’m now so either way new cuz I’ve heard so many people say differently. Confirm it down below. I just feel like you hear someone butcher it and then you get stuck in your head. Is it right or wrong? Luke Canard to kill Alexander Walker. V Cree, Kobe Buffkin, Nicole Derushic, you know, Moay now, Nefali, Dante is their third string big. Technically, Newuel is a switch big and Moay too. They I love Caleb. There’s a lot of good upswing potential here. And if I remember, Nefali Dante had a wingspan that was like 74, 7 foot five and a half, almost 7 foot six wingspan. So to me that’s absolutely great and as I mentioned if there was some one thing you wanted to nitpick and be like oh naly Dante or the Hawks needed something it would be a reserve big behind that that was like a true big and now they go out and they get Nfali Dante who honestly this is an SA their their new their executive who replaced Mr. Landry Fields has just done a great job bargain bin hunting. And that’s what you want to do if you’re a team looking for talent and finding ways to upgrade your roster without having to, you know, pay overpay for players that may or may not be effective. I think right here you’re you’re witnessing the Hawks build up their their depth. And you’ve seen teams do this over the years. But I feel like it’s definitely something that it goes by the wayside a lot of the times as people just think, oh, when you’re constructing a roster, it’s just about getting a bunch of stars. When it’s reality, it’s getting all these pieces. And Caleb Houston and I think Nfal Dante, by the way, the Houston Rockets do have a chance of matching this offer sheet. I’m just going to think about the fact that they might not because they spent all this capital on building up the team that they bring back the guys and I feel like the the Hawks did this with the idea that they weren’t going to match it. So, I want to hear your guys’ thoughts about Nefali Dante if you guys like this pickup. And what do you think? Do you think he’s going to be someone that could be a steal? And do you think the Rockets are going to match the offer sheet? But that’s basically going to be it for me guys today. I hope you guys did enjoy this video. And yeah, I think that’s basically all my thoughts on this. Ciao.
