Majority of uh opinion never played whatever sport, never did any acting, and they were the goats at what they did. Um, I don’t think How close ever boxed a day in his life. Legend. So, you know, so, so, so for me, you know, people that are able now to sit behind a keyboard, a computer, a desk, and get fat, they are able to feed their families, especially us as black, you know, black men, Latino men. But as as time went on and now we’re however many years down the line, look how many families um it it’s feeding. Look how many black men it’s kept out of jail, out of trouble. And to me, this is what social media has done. I’ve said this for a long time. If so, if if social media is utilized, right, it can change your life for the for the right reason. Now, of course, there’s always going to be bad apples, right? There’s always going to be people that isn’t good. People can say, “We’re not good.” I’m I’m fine with that. But if you have a passion for something, I don’t see what’s wrong with following your passion. For me, basketball, we’ve been arguing and and discussing and talking about basketball ever since we were born. I’m pretty sure Denzel Washington argued about basketball before in his heyday, right? And just I played, but I never played and was great at that level. Denzel can play basketball, but he never went D1 or had a chance to go to the NBA. So, so for me, I I I just don’t like it. Um, like I said, I like some of the things he said, but the direct shot, I like I said, YouTube, social media, it’s a line with people to take care of themselves and and their families. That’s what I love about it. And like I said, yeah, we don’t like everybody. Yeah, some people are bad, but just a quick example, nobody wanted to sign JV. How bad did Jay-Z sound in Hawaiian Sophie compared to now? Some people take time for them to find their greatness. How many YouTubers, how many social media people started off terrible, but you look at them now and they are [ __ ] great at what they’re doing. So, I I get what he’s saying. But to basically, you know, talk you you pointed at everybody and I I I just don’t like it. Like I said, for me with social media, if I don’t like it, I just scroll. But for me, I look at it as like I said, man, I hate social media at times as well, but it’s too much positive with it. as much negative negative as it is, excuse me, there’s too much positive with it. Um, it could have been said a different way, but it doesn’t take away from the man and what he what he represents and who he is. There’s no real way to do this. We’re just This is the stage that we’re in of social media and trying to promote things and and get content, right? Who the hell knows where this is going? Without opinions, there there’s nothing like we have to watch a movie to have an opinion on it to let people know how great it is for others to go see it. We also have to have an opinion if something is trash to let people know so you don’t make that trash again. You have to have opinions. You have to have quote unquote I’m sorry. He’s out here talking about what his career would have been looking like if Steph Curry wasn’t around. If I didn’t have Steph, I would have been like every other NBA coach and lasted a few years and then, you know, gone somewhere else and coached somewhere else. So, I’m incredibly lucky to have uh this partnership with Steph and he provides this stability and continuity with the organization that just makes everybody’s job easier. If I didn’t have Steph, I would have been like every other NBA coach and lasted a few years and then, you know, gone somewhere else. And I guess that little clip went viral and here we are. or ball. Steve Curry, he basically sounds like you when you talk about uh Papovic. What would pop be without Tim Duncan and Steve Curry saying, “Yeah, what would I be without Steph Curry, bro? I I’m not I’m not that guy.” We see the landscape of coaching that at in this era as well, the turnover rate, everybody’s getting fired at any given time. What’s What’s your reaction to that? Because I’m pretty sure that was music to your ears. This is why I like Steve Crow as a head coach. And he just kept it real, which a lot of head coaches need to do. What he said was 100% correct. And that’s like that for a lot of coaches. It doesn’t mean he’s not a good coach or a great coach. He’s just letting you know. And he’s giving his superstar the props he deserves. Yo, without Steph Curry, I’d be average, bro. Or I, you know, I just be bouncing like every other coach. if I’m not mistaken, that’s throwing shots at some head coaches to let them understand, bro, you only a coach because of who you have. So, I I I love what he said. And you know me, hold on, hold on, hold on. Guys like Bill Belt. Oh, and what what coaches would that be he be taking shots at? Well, for me, I think guys like Bill Bellichic and Greg Papovich, who Greg Pop get well soon, uh, you know, hopefully your health and everything will come back. We don’t wish that on anybody, but guys like that need to say the same thing. Maybe Phil Jackson does too. I don’t know. But what Steve Kerr said is 100% correct. And I love his honesty. I love his honesty. And you know it, we have to start realizing a lot of these coaches have jobs because they’re in great positions. There’s a select few that are great head coaches no matter who’s there. Like I told y’all, man, that guy down there in Miami, they lucky he ain’t got a bunch of rings cuz he would be the greatest head coach of all time. He knows how to coach. No matter who’s there, they’re going to be competitive. he’s going to get the most out of his guys. You know, those are one out of many. But I love what Steve Kur said. That’s what sports is today. You ain’t getting no coach that’s really going to have the X’s and those down and lead the guys. And no, if you ain’t got a superstar, two or three, your ass is going to be trash and you ain’t going to be head coaching for a while. That’s just what it is. So for me, I I love what Steve Pur said. He’s just keeping it real and it’s just the honest truth. And that’s what it is for a lot of these guys. It’s just that simple. A lot of these guys that have these jobs for a long tenure, it they have the superstars. Soon as a superstar gone, you see who they really are. You see what they’re really about. Steve Curry is just being honest. And I think it’s also, you know, his exit plan. To me, this is the last hurrah with Golden State and Steve Curry. I think he moves on uh after this year. But I love that it’s also giving uh Steph Curry props and and and and a lot of these coaches get all the praise when they win a lot of these championships and the player doesn’t get the praise. I love that Steve Kerr is giving Steph Curry all the praise at the same time because he deserves it. What Steph Curry did for that organization thus far is probably one of the greatest things you’ve ever seen. This is comparable to what Mike did for Chicago, what Magic did for LA, what Dur did for Boston, what Tim Duncan did for San Antonio, what rest in peace Phobe did for the Lakers. Steph Curry is in that conversation with what a person did for that organization in that city for 15 plus years. I love that Steve Kerr did that. A lot of other coaches need to follow suit and give the plays the props they deserve. Because you have to think about it, without Steve Curr, people are still coming to see the Golden State Warriors in that city. They’re still going to sell out. They’re still going to sell all the merch. All the businesses are going to flourish. Why? Because they have Steph Curry. So, I I love that uh Steve Kur said that was a was a great quote. I love it. Um, yo, Steve Ker, stop acting like a [ __ ] man. Explain that, please. That came out of left field. Explain that. It Enough is enough with these shenanigans, man. That’s not how competitors talk. Yes, great coaches need great players. You did a lot of great over there. This is a guy that everyone was trying to give Mark Jackson his credit for and he does deserve it because Draymond Green is on a record saying he instilled confidence in us like a level of confidence where it’s like you know a lot of players they have delusional confidence like Bill Simmons always goes the irrational confidence guy and a lot of players need that irrational confidence to boost them up and sometimes it’s like yo Steve Kerr bro you’re going to go down as a goat now it is what it is you could end your career next year or retire. They still talk about Chuck Daly. You know, I understand this whole thing with Steph Curry want to give him his props. He’s not going to not get props. He doesn’t need you to say that. I don’t need Steve Curry to say that ever. I Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, and these guys, there’s a different bravado about them. Is it played out? I don’t know. At at some point, is this the reason why someone like a Draymond can run over you that with that attitude? I don’t like that. I don’t like that. I like him being able to go with Draymond. We got four rings. Larry Riley made this team. That’s who Steph Curry named his daughter after. Not no Bob Meyers, not Draymond, not me. There’s a there’s a team effort in this. Just like Jordan and Kobe, there were people that built those organizations that still don’t get enough credit. Jerry Krauss is still known as the penguin in the last dance of Jordan’s documentary for the that was a team documentary. He flipped into a a personal documentary sitting down there with his whiskey or whatever he was drinking. And you still [ __ ] on this man on his death. He’s the guy that helped create the Bulls. He’s the guy who found Phil Jackson. So Steve Kerr, you came down that path of Phil Jackson that were discovered by these D. You’re a part of the architecture of this game. Stop kissing these players ass, man. I’m sick of it. We’ve already Steph who doesn’t like Steph Curry? Who doesn’t praise Steph Curry? Oh, we we now we got to when we compare him to Magic Johnson, you pick your favorite. Cool. But I’m not a fan of all that. Enough is enough with this, Steve. I see how you talk to the refs, too. And I don’t see that smoke for Draymond Green. I’m not saying you got to talk to Steph Curry like that. But all right, we get it. These coaches cannot win. You always reference the the Detroit Pistons of 04 because they didn’t have the top 10, top 20. They don’t even have a top 50 player on that team of all time and they won a championship. That was that was coaching. Hell yeah. I mean, I mean, coaching also Joe Dumar should get his respect to put that team together even though he didn’t draft Melo. That was dumb. But you still have other pieces to this this dynasty run. This was an incredible run. The the Warriors were a laughingtock till Don Nelson went there. Um, you know, between that gap between Don Nelson and Run TMC, you know, the we believe Warriors with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, they, you know, they stand their ground with all that. Then Steph Curry came in and Monte Ellis was holding it down. There’s a rocky time period for Golden State. And even in that moment or that that year that Steph is making his leap and I’m saying, “Yo, this guy’s a new logo before the Chips before the Steve Ker hire. Bro, you’re a part you’re just as much a part of this as anybody else. Especially off that court. On the court thousand% we cannot. That’s Steph Curry a million%. off the court though, the preparation and things like this. Oh, boy. I’m sorry. I’m sick. I’m sick of it. I I really am. The way people praise LeBron and others, Steph Curry doesn’t get that praise. He only gets praised for being the greatest shooter ever. I think what Steve Cerr just did for me put a highlight on what Steph Curry meant means to him and to that organization. Steph Curry is now the reason Steve Curry is going to be a Hall of Fame NBA head coach. Like let that sink in. I I I have no problem with what he said. No, but that but that’s my push back because without Steve Kerr, we could easily say this doesn’t happen. You still have to have the right coach. And I I disagree. Like you saying Steph Curt get all that love. That’s not true. I think it was y’all that had to convince me. Hold on. When KD went over there, this is a different level. He’s the best player on the team. They followed him. Like yes, they revolved the offense around Steph Curry, but KD is the guy that everybody in that gym is in fear of with the ball in his hands soon as he steps on the court. and he left. Part of the reason why he left was because y’all let Draymond run a muck. No way possible that Draymond is more is is irreplaceable compared to Kevin Durant. It doesn’t make sense. I don’t I don’t like that. I don’t I don’t that softness to me. They do praise Steph Curry enough. They do let let up enough for him. I I What how much more praise does Steph Curry deserve, bro? Bro, I without Steve Cerr and you put another coach there, they still win those championships. I’m sorry. That team was just that great. Listen, when when they had the interimm head coach, what was it? Luke Warden, bro. They didn’t miss a step. Big shout out Laval B. He said it. Yo, bro, some teams you just got to have a coach on the sideline, bro. And it’s no I’m not saying some of Steve Kur’s ex’s and those you know didn’t help them but the way those teams were assembled at that time during that time bro I’m sorry it it it they were still going to win. They were still going to win. I’m sorry. You talking about the KD Warriors? No. No I’m not. I’m talking about uh the Warriors before KD. They they had another coach, Mark Jackson. and they didn’t get it done. They were getting they got they were bounced up out of there. So So what I’m saying is is that it doesn’t just take anybody. You talking about somebody that was on the sidelines that was g as a general manager that understands the game that was playing behind legends like Lil Jackson, Pat Riley, and um excuse me uh Papovic. Hold on. Hold on. Let me cut you off. Hold on. Sorry. So sorry for I don’t want to forget this point. So let me ask you a question. I think this is a great question. If Mark Jackson was still the coach and the Golden State Warriors still made the moves they were able to make, get players, funnel players, get Kevin Durant, do they still win all these championships and be this successful? No. Just plug out Steve Cerr, Mark Jackson there. You still get Kevin Durant. You still have both. You still have everything. You telling me they still don’t win four championships and Steph Curry is still who he is? No, that’s a totally different offense. He He got Mark Jackson was keeping Steph Curry on the ball. Steph Curry is Steph Curry because just like Michael Jordan, just like Kobe Bryant, the great scores on the perimeter, once they move off ball, it changes everything. And Kevin Durant couldn’t do that. Kyrie Irving couldn’t do that. All these great scorers of this era, James Harden couldn’t do that. That’s what makes Steph Curry greater than them. All these guys we mentioned, James Harden and definitely Kyrie Irving have a better handle than than Steph Curry one-on-one. They’re probably better than Steph Curry, but the difference between him and them, I’m going off ball. And the guy who made that possible is Steve Curry and the rest of his of his coaching staff.
