‘Way Too Early” NBA 2K26 Tierlist | Atlanta Hawks
What’s going on everybody and welcome back to another video. Today is the first installment and I am happy to introduce it of the way too early NBA team tier list for the 2026 season. It’s only July and I’m excited. I mean, summer league just finished about 4 days ago. I’ve been watching footage on all the new talent and some of the older talent when you take into account like the G-League teams and stuff like that. just seeing all the new guys come for this new season, see the younger dudes pop out, show out, and um it’s been exciting. So, I can’t wait to give you guys a rookie tier list as well, so you can see all the new young talent that’s being brought upon our horizon here in the NBA. And I’m excited to see these blade these players work and grow. And we’re going to start with the team in alphabetical order. First up is Atlanta. Are y’all ready? Let’s get started. Okay, so the 2025 Atlanta Hawks, you’re looking at the roster that was going into that season, last season, right? And you look at the names on paper, this looks like a team that should be rather competitive. Are they championship contenders? Probably not, right? I mean, it’s a good team, but barring injuries, if everyone’s healthy, this team is probably not going to win a championship. And you probably knew that already. But it seems like they even still underwhelmed even with that expectation going into the season last year. They finished eighth as a playin team. Now, I’m looking at their best player, Trey Young, immediately, right? If this is your best player, do you have a chance of winning the title? I think it heavily depends on how well he’s playing that week. If he’s not the Trey Young that can hit shots, then you’re going to lose the majority of those games. And it’s really down to play style because Trey Young has all the tools outside of his physicality. Obviously, he’s got all the tools. He’s got the high IQ. He can shoot the ball rather well, but he swears he’s Steph Curry. Brother, you’re not Steph Curry. I think if he relied more on his IQ and his passing ability, he would get more out of his teammates and make himself more effective by picking his shots a lot better because with the IQ, he should be able to have good shot selection, but he doesn’t. And that’s what holds him back. His shot selection is terrible. um when he decides to shoot is terrible. And I just think that if he relied more on his passing ability and let the offense come to him, he will be a lot more effective as a player. But I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself. Just looking at last year’s team, we knew this team was not going to win a title. But they still performed even worse than that. Like not even making the playoffs, that’s crazy. Come on now. And this is the problem with a lot of these new generation so-called superstars that you guys like to say that they are. They are not. But um they they’re just they’re crowned way before they ever do anything. And I’ll give Trey Young a little bit of credit. He had a Cinderella season where there was a bunch of injuries and I think he did make it to the Eastern Conference Finals. So I’ll give him credit for that. And he did show out. He did hit a lot of shots on the road. He played really well throughout those playoff series, but unfortunately he just hasn’t sniffed a playoff since then. And it just goes to show you that was a Cinderella run. Can he be the guy? If you still have to ask this question after Luca’s already made a finals, I mean, I think you’re asking the wrong question. Uh especially now that this team now looking at the new roster, the 2026 roster, has less star power, I would say. Um, it’s obviously obviously going to have less cohesion because there’s new free agents. There’s now less less talent in terms of ball on ball talent. They’re now a lot more centered on shooters and specialty players with this roster. And then on top of that, you’re relying on guys that are not healthy. Chris St. Pz, he can’t stay healthy. It’s just that simple. He cannot stay healthy. and you’ve got a team of some younger players. Now, I’m looking at the younger players, right? I’m going to say this. The draft that they got or the drafty that they got, uh, Asa Noel, I think his name is, I don’t know how to pronounce his name. I’ll figure it out as the season goes. He is a good player. I think the second unit is going to be very key for this team. How well can they perform when Trey Young sits down? Chris Sporzingis, we’re just going to assume he’s not going to play. He’s going to play maybe what 40 games, 50 games at most. If he’s able to make it to 60 or 70, that’s a miracle. But we got to expect that he’s not even going to play. So, I’m looking at when Trey Young sits down, who’s going to be the guy? And Jaylen Johnson’s a good player. I’m not sure he can he can lead a second unit, although he has had some flashes of being a rather impactful player when he’s playing. He’s coming off a torren lab, I believe. So, so, uh, who’s who knows how well he’ll come back. Um, I think he will. He’s still got that athleticism. He’s kind of like John Collins in a way, except he’s got a little bit more aspects to his game in terms of rebounding and uh, playmaking and being like a transition coast to coast kind of slasher. So, you got that. Uh, Chris Aszing, as we already mentioned, he can’t stay healthy. Uh, you still got a Kong Woo, who I think is a good player. Kind of a stretch big but plays physical as well like Miles Turner, but he’s got a little bit more physicality to his game in my opinion. You still got Dyson Daniels and um I mean the team is solid on paper. I just don’t expect them to really be like a powerhouse team. Are they better than Orlando? They’re not really even better than Orlando. They’re not there with Detroit at all. Um, this team, I expect them to definitely be in the playing. I mean, they’re going to be in playing purgatory for as long as they decide that Trey Young is going to be their best player and they they they build the team around him because I feel like they need to bring in other pieces that can cover him and also close out games uh and make better decisions down the stretch and kind of take him off the ball. But that’s just my opinion in terms of closing games. But this is a play in purgatory team. I honestly don’t see what else they can do to really maximize Trey Young. It’s really up to him and adjusting his play style. He’s went through a slew of coaches. He’s had a bunch of different rosters that he could have competed with and he’s just not that guy to me. So, we’ll see where this goes with them. But, as far as I can see, they’re going to be a playing purgatory team. Probably similar record to last year. And that’s about it in terms of the Atlanta Hawks. I hope you guys enjoyed. Shout out to the Hawks. Man, you’re stuck. You’re in the worst possible spot. But hey, at least you know how to draft. So maybe you strike lightning in the bottle one day. All right. Talk to y’all on the next one.
So is “The 6” ATL or Canada? Is Trae Young, Steph Curry? Megan’s Knees, D-Rose Knees or Porzingis Knees? {PAUSE!!! LMFAO)
