players versus the Milwaukee Bucks let’s give these guys some report car grades I want to stick I guess we’ll stick to the starting five and then we’ll go to our Lakers haters segment that we do here every show on Lakers land and then we’ll see what other news is going down in the Lakers we’ll do it quick we’ll do it brief but we’ll be efficient y’all know how we do if y’all on YouTube smash that overall is giving the team a C+ okay so let’s talk about the overall report car grade what are y’all giv the Lakers last night over all performance they started off hot they uh blew the lead found a way to come back and get the job done on the road versus the Milwaukee Bucks justo is giving them a C+ what’s your reason in justo for a C+ why not a b if you’re giving them a C+ what did you see from the Lakers last night that make you feel like they were just almost above average but you didn’t quite give him a B I would say um I would have to give him a I would have to be I kind of cosign what justo was saying I think for the simple fact that they were down and the main guys LeBron and AD I don’t think they played late you know the Lakers made a comeback with you know some young guys with the with you know some guys that’s not really uh established so much so I think that was kind of impressive especially to have lost your lead so they lucked out um potential while so I’ll give him a C+ but I want to talk about individually let’s get into um The Players themselves now D’Angelo Russell DLo to me was pathetic y’all I I I don’t know I know y’all gauge things different when we talk about basketball but DLo to me was really pathetic I didn’t like um the turnovers he couldn’t he couldn’t make anything everything he shot was just terrible especially in that um first quarter hold on for a second y trying to find but so yeah in that first quarter I really was not impressed with D’Angelo Russell he play he had 40 24 minutes he played 24 minutes he had six points one rebound and five assists overall he was three 10 from the field 30% from the field and he was 0 of three from the three-point line but he was a plus nine uh like I said it really was nothing to really brag about I was not impressed with the mistakes and the decision that was M you know making that uh dowlo was showing and displaying in that first quarter and then it got to a point where though it seemed like he was deferring like because he knew he was cold he didn’t even want to try to shoot his way out of it like he just was passing up opportunities and and I really don’t like that I need DLo to be mentally tough throughout the preseason throughout any type of basketball player I need him to be mentally tough because his name is on the chopping block and you don’t want to give the organization any reason to let you go if you really want to try uh to make this thing work with LeBron and AD but I wasn’t impressed I’m giving D’Angelo Russell yesterday a a D+ I’m giving them a D+ I I just was not impressed at all then um LeBron LeBron last night what was LeBron statline last night I think LeBron had 11 points six rebounds four assists and 16 minutes I think that was lbj’s statline LeBron was four of 11 from the field he was 50% from three I think he was two or four and he was 50% from the free throw line LeBron was a plus4 he was in control like he wasn’t he didn’t come out gunning you know and this again this is preseason this is exhibition this is not really the time to see LeBron and AD show out uh but when they’re on the court you know you want to see something special and LeBron I think pretty much was in cruise control this game he he had a couple moments he knocked down uh some three-pointers but by the halftime it it was a wrap so you know kind of predictable LeBron didn’t do nothing special but you know he didn’t mess anything up so it was average I I’ll give LeBron James A C for his performance last night versus the Milwaukee Bucks um then we got ad D Anthony Davis what grade am I gonna give Anthony Davis I talked about it this morning when Anthony Davis like if y’all watched the game last night y’all see how hard ad was going on both ends of the Court like how everything that went good for for the Lakers ad was kind of involved with it whether it was chasing loose balls getting blocks uh remember that block he had on uh jannis that was kind of crazy ad was kind of all over the place and that’s what you want from your Superstar but because of his health issues every time Anthony Davis push it to the Limit like that I get scared as hell I don’t know about y but I really get scared as hell not saying that I want ad to take his foot off the gas but it just bothers me because of his injury history understand what I’m saying and offensively what I saw from ad last night that mid-range jumper it it looked like 2020 ad in the bubble you know it’s developing back to that I think his his jumper though overall is kind of falling off and I think that’s because he’s putting so much energy on the defense playing the foul I really hope JJ R can find a way to get ad back at his true position this season Without Really sacrificing wins and losses for the Lakers they they need a roster adjustment really to get this thing done um but ad last night he had 25 points on the night he had 11 points I mean he had he played 25 minutes he had 11 points uh eight rebounds one assist one Ste and I think Anthony Davis had three blocks on the night he was five or four from the field he didn’t hit no threes I think ad was all four from the three-point line he was 50% from three but he was a minus one um and you know I I don’t blame him for that I think I would probably give ad a b i I think I would give him a b i i no yeah I’m giving him a B BB Plus because like I said he he didn’t do anything wrong he as far as hustling and grinding he he was the one in that first quarter in that first half you know what I mean and he was locked in versus Jaris so you know it was a couple nice moments I’ll would give ad a b B+ um um then who we got ruy ruy ruy ruy ruy has some moments you know but defense L I don’t know what to say man Ry look like ruy it’s like Dr Jackal and Mr HDE and like like when you watch how joic treated him like a little boy in the first round of the playoffs it was nasty work but you know joic do that to almost everybody in the NBA and then last night I don’t know yo I’m just not impressed with ruy he played 24 minutes last night I think he ended with 14 points and five rebounds I don’t know man he he he he does look comfortable in the JJ RDI system I’ll give it that he looks comfortable in the JJ Reddit system because JJ rdit it seems like JJ re got a lot of expectation in ruy to be this guy that I don’t believe that he can be JJ Reddit is alluding to he want the Lakers to become more of a offensive rebounding team you know getting more Second Chance opportunities and he’s highlighting wanting ruy haimura to be a big part of that and I don’t understand it because number one ruy is a three a small forward so I don’t know how impactful he would be offensive you know when it the offensive rebounds he does got some length he he he knows how to get in position so that’s an advantage for him but I just don’t see him leading the charge when if that’s the strategy or the focus of the offense when it come to offensive rebound and and Second Chances being led by ruy you know I think that conversation need to be locked in with the ads of the world the Jackson haes of the world you know the van do of the world when he come back ruie I don’t know I I’ll give ruy a b I’ll give ruy a b because he held it down in that first quarter you remember when ad had that block on yanis he had to pass out to ruy and ruie came down the middle it it was crazy so I’ll give ruie um a b but you know rebounding like I said is gonna be one thing I’m gonna be watching five rebounds should be an average this season for uh ruy but he got to be tough I don’t know if ruy is soft or not like I I still haven’t totally gaed and measured ruy hachimura’s personality I don’t know if he got guts or I don’t know if he saw I don’t I don’t really know I don’t really know to be honest with y’all uh Max Christie Max Christie um I was impressed I I was very surprised that Max got the starting opportunity you know Austin Reeves was out with the with ankle soreness that kind of concerned me a little bit uh Max has definitely gotten better and I’m wondering has Max always been this good and you know doin ham just messed things up justo was giving Max a B+ yeah Max N I think Max came in he didn’t screw things up he hit a big three at the be he might have hit a couple big threes in the first quarter um the game definitely doesn’t look to be too fast for him he Max looks ready um for for what he was asked to do last night I think he did the job I I think he did the job and I think he did it pretty well so I’ll give him a bat I’ll give I’ll give Max Christie a bat so max get a b ruy gets a B Anthony Davis to me gets a B+ or B LeBron I’m giving a c DLo I’m giving a d no one failed collectively since you want to praise him since you want to put him on a Dan pedestal Doc Rivers the same blame I’m giving you for a loss I’m giving Darin H for a loss y’all two niggas are peas in a pot but he’s gonna take your job Doc Rivers is gonna lose his job and they and and and this nigga daring ham is going to take it over and I just hope that Darin ham I mean that Doc Rivers keep the same energy a author of confusion that’s what he is I agree with you 100% just though I’m glad that we got the win I I did not want to see the Lakers go winless throughout the preseason but again even in the win I I didn’t walk away with nothing I wasn’t impressed about nothing last night and then bronny James once again you know is is be happy about you even guys like d kect who got the green light he wasn’t efficient last night he wasn’t knocking shit down but he played 30 something minutes and you know he did what he had to do this is good experience for him so it worked out for some
