The Mavs Hidden Superstar: Max Christe

The Dallas Mavericks have been in the NBA media for the entire year of 2025. From the Luca Donas trade, which was a generational trade that we might never see again, to Kyrie tearing his ACL to AD being injuryprone, to getting the first overall pick in the NBA draft lottery, which was probably rigged, but you know, and then getting Cooper flag. But there’s one piece on their roster, one player on their team that could change everything for their team. Let’s get into it. So, back to another thing that I mentioned, the Luca Donses trade. Now, Luca was the franchise guy for the Dallas Mavericks throughout his career. I mean, he’s made so many NBA selections, so many all-stars. Arguably, you could say he’s the second best Maverick ever. He’s brought them to a finals just last year 2024. But since Nico hates fat people, I guess he decides to trade Luca to the LA Lakers. Now, he didn’t offer anyone else Luca Dones, I’m assuming, because he got Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and only one first for their franchise guy who led the NBA finals in every single statistical category. I mean, at least all the major ones. We don’t really care about most of like some advanced metrics, but they traded him to the LA Lakers. And in that trade, an afterthought player, a player who was just starting to break out for the Lakers, Max Christie. Now, as his first game and his first couple games as a Maverick, he was showing some great strides, getting like 15 points every single game he played off the bench on as a starter. And as the Mavs kept getting injured, including Max Christie, people just kind of forgot about him. But when you really start to focus on this kid’s game, this young player’s game, you start to realize he’s an amazing shooter. He can play great defense, can rebound decently, he’s a decent passer. I mean, he can do most of the things on the court. He’s a perfect throw player. But what if I told you he could be even more than that? But forget all that for a sec. Or just put all that stuff on pause because a player who was just added to the franchise, recent first overall pick, Cooper Flag. I mean, this guy was is legit. one of the best prospects we’ve seen in recent memory. I mean, people were saying he’s the no doubt number one pick and he skipped a year in high school going to Duke straight up number one pick looked pretty good in summer league looking like the only offense but we know as the Mavs continue as he gets to the regular season he definitely will not be the only offense even if AD and Kyrie are both injured because Max Christie is an amazing scorer. He’s efficient. He can shoot. He can finish. He’s athletic. He’s 66. He can do it all on the court next to a two-way like wing, I guess. I don’t really He’s like a combo forward player like Cooper Flag. Two great two-way wings on the same team. This could be one of the best defensive teams in the NBA. And on top of that, they could both play amazing defense. So, this is why I think Max Christie could be a star leak. I mean, he has all the tools. I think he will have an amazing opportunity on the Mavs. Maybe not this upcoming season, but just make sure to look out for Christy the next couple seasons because he is going to be on the come up.
