This is from the summer BEFORE Jordan entered the NBA. He was part of the Olympic team and they were scrimmaging an All-Star team of PRO players with Magic, Larry, Isiah, Vern Flemming, McHale, Parrish, Aguirre.
Jordan's team, with talented collegiates still, Patrick Ewing and Chris MUllin skunked the NBA players 8-0. The All-Star PRO NBA players did not win a single game all summer and it was a point of contention against Jordan entering the league. They knew exactly what was coming and they couldn't do a single thing about it.
Let me say that again: 8-0 Jordan's team of collegiates beat the NBA squad. It was the ushering in of a new modern-day NBA of basketball players who were also stellar athletes. The year before, Hakeem Olujowon and Clyde Drexler had begun their NBA careers.
Magic knew there was no chance to stop him in the air, so he backed off & didn’t risk a foul, or injuring either of them.
