Steph Curry uses his basketball IQ to secure the win #nba #basketball #warriors #stephencurry #fyp

This is how Steph Curry and Chris Paul use their basketball IQ to help the Warriors win. In a really close game against the Kings a few years ago, the Warriors found themselves trailing. But after a big-time shot from Klay Thompson, Golden State had a two-point lead with just 2/10 of a second on the clock. And with such little time, the Kings didn’t really have a lot of options. They didn’t have enough time to catch and shoot, so they had to generate something quick towards the rim, like a lot pass in some of these examples. But the Warriors knew that, so they set up on defense with all their wing players loading up in the paint with their smaller guys subbed out. But what they didn’t know was what exactly the kings were running. And this is where Steph and CP3 come into the picture. Before the play happens, you’ll notice Sabon is talking to Monk here, and he’s basically telling him, “Yo, remember the play is I’m going to set a screen and clear the way, and you’ll run right behind me to get an easy dunk. They’ll never see it coming, and they wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for Curry because he spots this from the sideline, points it out to his teammates, and then fills Chris Paul into what’s going on.” So here, he points directly at Monk to signal, “Yo, the play is going to him.” and Chris Paul stomping his foot trying to get Wiggins’s attention. They’re trying to warn him that Monk is going to fly in behind Sabonis, so you need to make sure A you don’t get screened and b you don’t allow an open cutter. And sure enough, as the play starts, Sabonis tries to make contact with Wiggins with Monk sneaking right behind him, but Wiggins isn’t fooled, knows what the play is and tips it away for the win. Really good awareness from two Hall of Fame point guards.

  1. Sabonis should have let Wiggins go and call a lob to tip the ball a little more far from the basket. Wiggins was clearly focusing on Monk only
Of course it is easy to say it after watching the video, but i think an elite athlete should be capable of process that info and react in time

  2. As a Warriors fan. It would've been nice to keep CP3 last year. With him, Steph, Jimmy and Dray. They might've gotten to the finals

  3. I mean this just seems like stupidity on the player who is saying or showing the play out in the open like that. Doesn’t take a genius to know that the other team is watching yall. The bench is still part of the team looking to win against you so why show your damn play right out in the f’ing open for them!?!?!

  4. John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, he sent his one and only son so that whoever believes in him won't die, but have eternal life." Jesus does love you, and you can always turn to him and he'll take care of you during tough times, God bless you in Jesus's name, amen ✝️🙏🏻🫶

  5. I hope to see both coaching one day, I see Steph more maybe a commentator role? That be cool, idk I watched all career of both. My generation of hoopers almost all retire now. Also The first NBA player born in the 1990s was Kawhi Leonard, who was born on June 29, 1991. Will miss all of them

  6. Lol.. Its not rocket science. Thats just plain awareness from them. Its SABONIS & MONK that have HORRIBLE AWARENESS 😂thats what lead to this lmao.

  7. Two of the best PGs in history catching and countering a play is way two unfair, if only this dynamic worked.

  8. Sabonis sold 💀😂 literally couldve said backdoor screen, you curl baseline for the oop instead of showing everyone what youre doing 🤦‍♂️
