  1. You are orders of magnitude more likely do die in a car crash going to Moda than taking the max. Public transit is incredibly safe although, yes, you do have to interact with other people, some of whom may be homeless. The horror.

The city should basically not care about parking at all, Harris is right, Timbers games rule.

  2. Not to harp but it is also wrong to state the vast majority commute by car.

Within the city center area, it is roughly half public transit commuting, even with our underfunded system.

Complaining the trains are 'empty' is also such a moronic misunderstanding of transportation, efficiency, and basic reasoning skills.

I hate suburbanites being intentionally moronic to try to spend my tax dollars. I can take a 20 minute walk to Moda or Downtown, or a 3 minute bus ride. I don't need that whole area to be wasted by parking space, which, guess what, won't be used 95% of the time. How is that efficient for anyone? Not to mention the impact on the urban heat island, opportunity cost by reducing housing, less small businesses, less public parks, etc.

I am okay with the city supporting the new stadium but only if that area transforms into something less dodger stadium and more like PacBell.

  3. Danny needs to learn about L.A. or shut his trap because Chavez is absolutely in Los Angeles. Maybe he's thinking of the Rose Bowl in Pasadena (which is barely outside L.A.)

  4. Have the blazers temporarily play in the Tacoma dome helping the sonics get why they're rebuild Moda center Tacoma dome can I hold NBA games I want to see Damian Lillard keep the blazers in Portland

  5. incredible how weve all capitulated into needing a new arena.. Weak, the Moda is more than adequate. Our only complaints have been the amount of things in the immediate area AROUND the arena.. propaganda ! fr dont fall into this the wrong way

  6. You’ll be happy to know that when Dundon was first interviewed about the Canes arena renovations and district plans is that they were going to fix the “ingress/egress” issues with parking. It’s a nightmare to park in that area and the arena is very much in the middle of nowhere off I-40 in Western Raleigh.

  7. The max is just fine for large events. I park anywhere in Lloyd/convention center area when going to Timbers game it works out perfectly. When there are large events like blazer/timbers game, the max ends up full of normal people going to that same event. It doesn’t feel unsafe. It’s the 8pm ride on a random Wednesday where you could end up stabbed 🤣.

  8. If they don’t upgrade the Moda Center then the guy is gonna move the team to somewhere on the east coast and there will never be an NBA basketball team in the Pacific Northwest ever again.

  9. So…. how sure are we of the team not moving? 100%? 90%? I just need to know how much I should be worried,

  10. Moving the Blazers to the ‘Couve might be the only thing to get the I-5 bridge AND I-5 freeway expansion done.

  11. Park and ride would be great. Would you support employing security and beefing it up during events? Danny is making a shit ton of blanket statements lol

  12. In 2010-2012, I was in HS and frequently rode the MAX. For Blazer's games, those trains were PACKED.
People would park at Lloyd and jump on the MAX for a few stops and walk up to Moda. We can bring that back. The problem with the MAX rn is that public perception has soured on it, but I think people have shifted their politics when it comes to public safety and the handouts for homeless.
