Is the Qualifying offer No Trade or No Trade without player approval? Miles Bridges signed one a few years ago and refused a trade. thanks
This is a me thing, the reduction in value of the undersized score first-no defense player is a good thing. While I want players to get their money. Not every player is a Max player because they hit FA. Putting up points on a bad team can be empty calories. Give me a Derrick White any day.
Cam is a nobody. Bad team player, you called it. He is dumb. Just take the money. The nets drafted a bunch of guards, so goodbyes to Thomas.
I just don't see how any of these guys taking the QO and leaving for nothing in return next summer is a "disaster" for their respective teams. None of them are valuable enough for it to be termed a disaster. Obviously that would not be an ideal outcome, but far from a disaster imo. Better than overpaying them and being stuck with a bad contract in this CBA environment.

the Kuminga thing just blows my mind. they don't want to lose him for nothing but they don't want to accept any of the offers from any teams? just take what you can get and move on already. playing hardball with a player that they don't even want is baffling to me.

BKN's offer to Cam is 2-years $28M. His QO is $5.99M. If he takes the QO & signs a FA contract in the 2026 offseason with an AAV of at least $23M, he's better off signing QO than the 2-year deal w/ BKN. If he maintains his normal performance, then a AAV $23M contract is reasonable, so it's arguably worth the risk.
Kuminga's situation is a little bit different. Reportedly, the last offer from GSW was 2-years, $45M. His QO is $7.9M. If JK signs the QO, then the next year he'd have to sign a contract w/ an AAV of over $37M to make back the money he turned down from GSW. Getting a contract that big seems unlikely. SAC's offer to JK in a sign-&-trade was reportedly 3-years & 63M, which has an AAV of $31M. Even if that's his market value, he'd still be losing money taking the QO…
Al is so underrated, he killed Bron and Luka on D last regular season match up, they tried him for whatever reason and he punished them, was hoping he comes to the lakers, we need him
The Warriors aren't going anywhere this year…with or without JK. But in three years…if you lose him for nothing, the team will go back to their old years of bottom dwellers in the NBA. Alternately…WITH him and at only 22…he can be a 25-30 ppg scorer and the team might be around .500 or even make the playoffs on occasion. He has every right to improve on both sides of the ball…with regular minutes…and decent coaching. He, Podz, Post and Moody, and Santos, along with some of their other younger players…might just be a solid team.
Giddey deserves that 30 mill bank easily. If they don’t soon ask super max money then and there if not peace out you get 30 mill ez elsewhere take the qualifying and get heck out of Chicago poverty dumpster fire chise sign veteran minimum with okc for a couple next year. But no matter what you get your bank.

GS needs to give up on JK…they have disrespected him for 4 years and are now looking for the largest piece of the cake along with the cherry. Warriors and Nets need to find a way to trade Cam for Kuminga. Then Warriors can fimd a way to bring in a competent 3 and D forward. Both sides happy and each team can do new deals for them during summer.

I understand the Horford lack of signing, however, why hasn't Curry or Melton or any of these other guys signed Who are simply going to be minimum contract deals?

Cam is one of the worst players at every aspect of basketball outside of scoring.
From rebounding, playmaking/willingness to pass, defending, effort, and even attitude.
I really think 28 million is a good offer for him
If he was average or just slightly below average at all those other aspects of basketball I could see it being below market value but he's literally in the bottom 1% in those areas.
I honestly think comparing him and kuminga is ridiculous. Kuminga brings a baseline that cam doesn't.
