This is something I hope happens. I think him or Thybulle would be better than Gabe would be for this certain roster. I think due to our relationship with Brooklyn especially lately, a trade is easier to do than with Portland even tho i would really want Thybulle. Who is the better fot between Highsmith or Thybulle even tho they are similar
The nets would definetely take gabe and a second for highsmith they are not going to get much more for him anywhere else. They could probably even flip gabe to. He isnt part of their long term plan and they could get two second round picks by essentially just taking on salary they need to spend anyways. On top of that the more valuable part of this trade would be opening up the final roster spot for the lakers and allowing them to sign a full veterans minimum player as they would be 6.9 million under the first apron. So somebody like kevin love or ben simmons or deanthony melton as the 15th man on the roster. Gives the lakers more options.

It would be worth it to trade gabe for highsmith cuz highsmith is bigger and can gaurd wings. Its even worth a swap. Highsmith is the kinda player lakers need. Gabe has been playing well though

I think that Hayward Highsmith would be definitely a defensive upgrade for the Lakers indeed. A trade that they should seriously consider pulling the trigger on for sure.

If we trade for him, we get a much needed 3nD wing, as well as some extra cap space for either improving our center depth, a 2-way player or both.
Idea: Trade Vincent for Highsmith, giving us an extra ~5 million in cap space (now would be ~6.5 million), then get Justin Champagnie for 3nD (3-4 years, $6-8 million contract) and use the remainder to improve our center depth, preferably a C/PF.
