He's definitely a very solid player, but I think the only way he really lives up to his upside is if he develops his shooting. At the guard position in the modern NBA I think it's very hard to succeed without some kind of three-point shot to help space the floor and open up the rest of his game, especially his drives to the basket. Jrue Holiday ended up being a much better shooter in his years with the Celtics and Bucks so I'm sure Castle will have plenty of time to improve as he matures into his NBA career.

Yeah he's gonna be a beast year after year. He's a junkyard dog that is just a chess piece. That shooting will gradually get better and so will his touch. You can't teach his motor and attacking nature. As a rookie he was getting fouled as much as anyone in the league.

He is one of the very few rookies to have scored more than 1,000 points in a season. He must be the first or second highest scorer on his team. And then, he takes responsibility. When the big names were out of the game, he stepped up. He surpassed the veterans. This guy has a real desire to improve technically and in shooting. Things will get better and better for the Spurs; they need to find a starting five for the big games. With the right adjustments, the Spurs will certainly make the playoffs. Keep an eye on the in-season tournament. Despite some imbalance last year, they had some great wins.

I believe the Spurs gave Castle and Wemby the green light to shoot 3's. Kornet will be shooting 3's again like he did in college as the team is creating a new style of offensive basketball that will take the NBA-WWE by surprise this coming season.

PATSFO put together a great roster for this coming season. Too bad it's wasted on a head coach who showed over SIX MONTHS that he is not HC material. Mike Malone, who had Jokic but would have Wemby, could have taken this team to the top in the West. But alpha male CIA Popovich wasn't going to be upstaged by an alpha male Malone.

For me his year two is all about shot selection, if he's going to shoot below 30% from 3pt he needs at least a 45 FG%, that means more open dunks and layups from transition or cuts, less complicated shots in traffic and he'll be effective and an offensive plus. Anything beyond 45 FG% and above 30 3pt% would be excellent for a sophomore guard.
