Good morning Mike! Happy Monday everyone!
2027 world champion Portland Trailblazers!
Glad to say that Marang was downright palatable today.
Well done, Danny!
So nice listening to the 2 best in the business. Cool gentleman.
I would bet anything Jrue isn't starting.
It will interesting this year if the league allows the defense to have more of a chance to defend. I would really like to see them not call fouls on a guy looking to draw a foul by driving into a defender, instead of trying to make a shot. And since the Blazers have good shot blocking, they might change their schemes a bit to try to draw the driver into the spider's nest and then make it tough to kick it out to shooters. Go Blazers.
Carlisle is an offensive savant. That’s why when we fired Stotts, I was so disappointed that it never sounded like we even tried approaching him. Instead, we got Billups. It’s funny because Stotts learned under Carlisle.
Mike + Danny >>> solo Danny. Old friends chatting knowledgeably is super listenable
Are you sure we even have a ball?
Jrue and Jerami leading the 2nd unit is key to help the team to become a strong playoff team
Teams, in the playoffs, hunt the weak defensive link. The path, without a/two superstar(s), is deep team, all who play defense. Thus the Simons-Holiday trade.
Great episode! Looking forward to more on Wednesday.
I brought it up here in the comments, I think that a lot of factors will conjure in the 27-28 season.
1) Deni on his last year of his descending contract.
2)Clingan and Hansen still on rookie contract
3)Jrue and JG expiring contracts to match salaries.
4)All the draft capital and swaps is in the 2028-2030.
You will have the cap, match contracts and draft capital to trade for the number 1 guy you need, With Deni, Camara, Clingan, Lillard on cheap contracts behind that guy.
Mike sippin on that IPA talking some Blazers ball. 🗣Thats my Media GOAT
I agree that I don't think Scoot or Sharpe have earned a starting spot yet given their play to date. Maybe that changes in camp. In any event, if they're playing 28 minutes a night off the bench, they will get plenty of opportunity to make a case to start. But I do think the starters on game 1, assuming 100% health, will be Holiday, Camara, Avdija, Grant, and Clingan.
You guys are great, but it seems that nobody in the Blazer media has the courage to buy into the potential of this team to be good in a changing league. Any team as good defensively as this team should be will have alot of opportunities to win games. They won't rely on a big star to carry them. Every night it can be somebody different on offense, with balanced scoring. This team is where Houston was 1-1 1/2 years ago: a .500 club with young talent. Then it all came together last year. Maybe Portland is a year away from being a 50-win team, but it's gonna be interesting.
We should do the trio. Mike, Danny, and spage
I love Dame being back, and love Jrue ……if he wants to be here; and great that there's a new owner who sounds good for the team. But I personally hope that Deni and Tou remain the heart and soul and the emerging leaders on this team. For me, the Tou-Deni-core is solid gold. Maybe put Clingan in there, and hopefully Scoot and or Shaedon. I hope these core young guys don't get eclipsed in some way by the bigger stars. We have gold here in these two in particular: effort, skill, character, leadership, work ethic…..100%
This is the most I’ve been excited for a blazers season in my life the expectations are not high but the vibes are so high right now
Scoot played less minutes after his best 3 game stretch. Danny’s rambles🤮🤮
I’m glad you reminded Danny that Dame is a nice story and sounds good to those who don’t fully understand basketball and how much age, (😮and not to mention the worst injury a NBA player can have ) , has on a great player.
This will be the start of many problems not only in the locker room but also on the court. What’s that saying “too many generals and not enough soldiers “, ya something like that.
