Why Are The Sacramento Kings Always Bad?

Recently during the 2023 season the Sacramento Kings broke the longest playoff drought in NBA history with the “Light The Beam” team. Two years later though the Kings have yet to make it back to the playoffs and recently just traded star point guard De’Aaron Fox to the Spurs. On top of that they are the only Western Conference team that has failed to win a playoff series in the past 20 years. So today we look at why the Kings seem to always suck.

  1. My dad has been a huge basketball fan his whole life. He never lived near a team until he moved to Kansas City in 1982. He had a few years of going to Kings games (and they were cheap tickets) before they left the city. He's been angry at the team ever since.
So I'll tell why Sacramento is so bad – it's the curse of Doug.

  2. I honestly do not understand how Sacramento still has a team but Seattle or Kansas City or hello Austin (recently received an MLS team) do not have teams. I am from Vancouver… and I understand why the Grizzlies moved. (I could easily collaborate on the why if that sort of video interested you.) If the Kings want to stay in California, move to San Jose, there is a lot more money around Silicon Valley. Just a baffling team.

  3. I’m 42 now, and remember my Dad taking me to games when I was 8 (yes, they were bad then too)…and realize something profound: over 50% of my life has been devoted to a team that is bad (and currently shows no sign of changing). 😢

  4. The string of drafting between 09-17 between Boogie and Fox is some of the worst drafting in the history of pro sports.

  5. There is only one way to cure bad ownership. Sports leagues need a Poverty Tax. If your team misses the playoffs for 10 straight years, the ownership team has their share of the revenue capped.

  6. Just a few years ago didn't they finish 3rd in the Western Conference, and have that 7 Game playoff series with the Warriors. That was the year they had the highest scoring offensive in NBA history…their beam team year. And didn't they finish 9th in the Western Conference the last two seasons. They're not that bad of a team. When are you guys going to do a "really bad team" video on the Hornets, Wizards, and Trailblazers?

  7. They totally botched Sasha Vezenkov the EuroLeague MVP. He mostly sat on the bench despite putting up great numbers. He went back to the EuroLeague and became an MVP again.

  8. Hey Now!! No Tyreek Evan’s slander here! He only regressed because the damn kings made him switch to SF after his rookie year! That can’t be forgiven
