  1. Can't be only .500. even if mitch sucks we have the players to correct his potential mess. We have to be in the play off. Not play in. On paper it's realistic. If we are still in the lottery without the hawks picks we must find a coach ….

  2. It is going to be very interesting to watch the pieces start to work and meld together. I'm excited to see what this season brings!

  3. It will be a good season for us, whether we make playoff or not.
Playoff, of course it is what we want and where I think we should be in.
But with the super strong draft next summer, as long as we showed significant improvement, I don't mind we miss playoff for the last time for a very long time.
If Mavs Can Do it, SO CAN the Spurs! (getting no.1 pick)

  4. I’d love to see 50 where are getting another 11-12 wins and 3 or 4 teams are gonna drop to play in or below in our conference

  5. ok hear me out: 50+ WINS, WEMBY MVP AND DPOY, HARPER ROY, ANYONE MIP, MITCH COY. With some luck we might just win the whole thing GSG

  6. The past 5 seasons in the west their been 1 young team to take a major leap last season Rockets was 2nd seed season before that OKC was 1st seed season before that Kings was 3rd seed season before that Grizzles was 2nd seed season before that Suns was 2nd seed. 4 of the past 5 season a young team jump to at least 2nd in the west so it will not surprise me Spurs is the next young team to be 2nd only behind the Thunder.

  7. Hello,
I recently review my prediction to lower it because I realized that this season, the Spurs will only play three times against Utah, Kings, Portland and Lakers. Last year, it was Denver, OKC, Suns and Warriors (the three games versus the four).
I definitely think that the minimum for the Spurs this season should be 45/37.
Here are my expectations to come up to this number :
    1) I expect the Spurs to make almost the full wins against very bad teams (Utah, Nets, Wizards, Hornets and Bulls).
    2) I expect the Spurs to win some favorable matchup (Pacers, Kings, NO, Blazers, Suns, Warriors).
    3) I expect the Spurs to be equal to the teams in their range (Dallas, Memphis, Minnesota and most of the eastern teams).
    4) I expect the Spurs to win at least one game against all very competitive teams (Clippers, Denver, Houston, OKC, Knicks, Lakers,…)
    5) I expect the Spurs to lose the bad eastern matchup (Cavs & Magic).

    Western Conference :
    N0 : 3 1
    Utah : 3 0
    Portland : 2 1
    Phoenix : 3 1
    Kings : 2 1
    Dallas : 2 2
    Memphis : 2 2
    Minnesota : 2 2
    Warriors : 3 1
    Lakers : 1 2
    Clippers : 1 3
    Denver : 1 3
    Houston : 1 3
    OKC : 1 3

    Total : 27 25

    Eastern Conference :
    Brooklyn : 2 0
    Washington : 2 0
    Charlotte : 2 0
    Bulls : 2 0
    Sixers : 1 1
    Toronto : 1 1
    Miami : 1 1
    Detroit : 1 1
    Bucks : 1 1
    Pacers : 2 0
    Celtics : 1 1
    Atlanta : 1 1
    Orlando : 0 2
    Knicks : 1 1
    Cavs : 0 2

    Total : 18 12

  8. 100% with you. If something else were to happen to Wemby – injury or ill health, heaven forbid – we might not make the playoffs, but there is an abundance of talent on this team and they could still make it. Maybe not contend for a title yet, but even with Wembanyama that may still be a year or two away.

  9. Can't predict the wins but 2-4th would be the ideal placement. if 5-6th, we should just be 1-2 win short to be 2nd placer. 7-10th is acceptable but should at least on quarter finals

  10. I used your basic logic and came to the same conclusion. A few other comments. Typical Spurs move to trade players (Wesley and Branham) to an East team. They certainly have potential and deserve to play more minutes. Win-Win for them and Spurs, and we didn't want to meet them too many games unless it's the playoffs. Last season was mainly for development and seeing what we've got and what looked at times like bad coaching by Mitch was in the service of those goals. The best five man lineup that played together for more than 100 minutes for the Spurs last season was CP3, Vassell, Barnes, Wemby, and Sochan with a netrtg +16.2. That's better than OKC's starting lineup. If they start the season with that lineup as the starting lineup replacing CP3 with Fox and playing it the same number of minutes as OKC's starting lineup baring serious injuries I could see them getting home-court advantage at least in the first round in the playoffs.

  11. I think realistically accounting for injury and moreover preventive measures like minutes restrictions and sitting games for wemby and fox, as well as the mathematical dynamics of the conference, it’s very apropos to look teams with two near to perennial all stars in the west that battle amongst the wins in the 40s just north of .500. The second seed had 52 wins and the 10th seed had 39; 3-5 all had 50 wins. throwing another 50 win team there obvisouly shifts things in a zero sum reality of the playoff format. Again, seeing as only the suns should have a massive falloff, and they didn’t even make the play in, it’s hard to see the spurs getting 50+ wins without wemby being at mvp level for 82 games. Which is possible but improbable. Seeing some of these other comments are crazy tho, 55+ wins? We’re going to go from near miss on the play in to second best in the west while most playoff contending teams improved in the offseason as well? I’ll put my neck out and say we should be more than happy with a .500+ years. The 42-49 range would be my bet as last year that would correspond to 9-6 in the west, again with the implication more wins for the spurs brings down the win total for the teams we face in conference more often than the east. That being said 49 wins could be the 3rd seed next year if the lakers did it last year with 50 wins. Although it’s worth accounting for the shift in balance of power with injuries out east so maybe all west teams will have some inflated win totals this season, regardless the point remains considering the inter conference dynamics.

  12. Spurs potentially have 2 elite duos in Fox-Vic & Harper-Kornet. Luke is amongst the best screen setters in the NBA, offensive rebounders, & will be very hard for a lot of benches to stop paired with DH. The starters were never the main issue, it was the bench. I think they're set to win 50 if healthy.

  13. The Spurs recorded 20+ assists in 222 consecutive games, the longest such streak in NBA history at the end of 2024-2025 season and we have Fox 2024 steal leader and Wembenyama 2024 & 2025 block leader. We have Offense and Defense Spurs can win 50 games or more in that 20 assist per game streak continue and translate to a win and make in the playoffs!!

  14. I still will say Spurs win 43-46 games and fighting for play-in spot. They would have come close last season if not for injuries. It's not impossible to get more wins but it would be due to other teams dropping off due to injury or age, plus the Spurs have to be relatively free of major injuries. The Spurs are still really young, inexperienced, and first year coach, some losses will be due to that. So expecting a team to improve by at least 10 games is reasonable and a step in the right direction. Expecting a big leap is fine but don't consider it a bad season if the Spurs don't achieve 50+ wins.

  15. i keep saying it spurs will be 4th seed . with Fox & a healthy Wemby lakers, warriors, & wolves put no fear in me

  16. I'm worried the team has learned how to BS their way through a losing season.
    2020 – 33W / 39L
    2021 – 34 / 48
    2022 – 22 / 60
    2023 – 22 / 60
    2024 – 34 / 48 -… soft first half schedule
    2025 – 45 / 37… if we're lucky.

  17. The San Antonio Spurs are going to set an NBA record. They are going to win 40 more games than they did last year, and yes I said 40 games more. Why do I say that ? I live here and I feel the vibe around the city. Our Defense is going to be spectacular. Super Elite Defense .. final answer..

  18. Did you guys see David Jones Garcia fight he's playing for the Dominican Republic omg he's a beast give this dude some play time 4 sure love this dude. New nickname the Enforcer

  19. 48 Wins, Ranked Between 5-6 in the West. My GUESS: First ten games are relatively easy — a chance to create some team chemistry; Spurs fans will probably be a bit disappointed with the mid-season (lack of) success, but Wemby and Co. will finish strong down the stretch (assuming they're mostly healthy), and will come into playoffs jacked and ready.

  20. Can't wait to see how high flying this Spur's team is. Most athletic Spur's team ever? Looking forward to seeing Castle's leadership grow even more. Wemby dominaring. They will win 50. Go Spurs Go 1

  21. Detroit have D… outside of Wemby/Kornet, there's no D with the Spurs…
And about shooting, Spurs have so much more bad shooter than Detroit.
    And East =/= West

I guess in few months (end of next season) you'll be disapointed then 😅

  22. I'm hoping Potter plays well in training camp to get that 15th spot. The Spurs can always use a big who can shoot no matter how far down the bench he is.

  23. As long as any injuries (heaven forbid) are not season ending I think that this team is constructed to where it won't suffer as much as previous rosters. They are multi deep in all positions with talent that should see them through until the player returns.

  24. Monty Williams made a mistake taking the Detroit job. People forget he was killing it in Phoenix until that pos Tribe member bought the team and screwed them up.

  25. Pistons cannot field a lineup like Wemby-Sochan-Barnes-Castle-Fox with Harper-Bryant-Kornet-Olynyk-Champagnie coming off the bench.

  26. Even when healthy the EC sucks. Only about 3 teams are worth anything when healthy. The East is so bad the NBA needs to reseed all teams after the regular season so the 16 teams WITH THE BEST RECORDS make the playoffs.

  27. I would agree but detriot is in a weak east, meanwhile san Antonio is in the west which is way harder but good luck hope u guys can do it
