Dallas finishing one through four is not crazy but everything would have to break absolutely perfectly. Kyrie comes back in the beginning of January, and he’s Kyrie. A.D. stays healthy all year. Cooper Flagg really, really is it.

Let me preface this with saying I WOULD NEVER HAVE TRADED LD… however 7 months later if u can’t get hype about a new prospect we got Blessed with after that huge snafu of a FO mistake/trade.. then go watch lakers or something, why stick around listening to podcasts and taking fan survey…. Most of the time dallas has been 6 to 8 or not in at all.. I dont see how your better with no Luka? They dont have Kyrie to start the season you have a gluttony at centre.. They were 7 to 10 with Luka are you expecting all nba production from flagg this is ridiculous

I think because we know exactly what Luka is, and who he has been. Since entering the league, his been at least top 25 from his rookie year and top 5 after his sophomore season and beyond. We just need to see it from cooper. He clearly won’t be top 25 this season and clearly not the top 2 players on this team so he won’t have all the opportunities that Luka did to show off. I think he will average 15 this season

Nick and Isaac you have to realize polling 1k to 2k is not going to describe the mavs fanbase. There are millions of mavs fans around the world. The loud minority are always the ones that are going to be negative because they want to feel loud and make others feel miserable with them. Being excited about a generational prospect like flagg is the essence of what being a fan is about, we are blessed that this happened to our team and we should embrace and cherish it regardless what occurred from the luka trade. At the end of the day. we don't know the full behind the scenes of how it all went down on the totality of the facts on why they traded luka. But it is all out there that gives you a good jist on why the front office decided it was the best decision moving forward with the franchise.
People look at Flagg's highlights way too much. Go look at other videos. Videos like "Cooper Flagg's Defense: What the film actually shows." Go check it out for yourself. He is not this generational talent people make him out to be. Plus, he was playing on a Duke team that was rolling out 5 legit NBA players every night. In the NBA, he is going to be playing people just as big as him.
I keep saying it. People like Luka are rare. He is Magic and Bird level. Flagg is not that. He will have a good career. But I think a lot of MFFL are trying to minimize what losing Luka really means out of some misplaced loyalty to a team that lied and backstabbed people.
For the DLo stop gap question, I answered yes, but really my answer would have been "No, but there was not much else they could do." I dont think it'll be enough, but at this point I wouldn't want them to sacrifice any other pieces. Just ride it out as best we can with DLo and pray Kyrie comes back soon. I definitely wouldn't say I am excited lol
Flagg has been dominating children and people his own age for years. Luka been dominating people 4+ years older since he was 8. The difference in size was significant. They’re not the same.
The “experts” glaze a new guy every year. Still waiting on the next fill in the blank. The one they didn’t glaze up turned out to be the next one.
Why Coop not pro in Europe the last several years? I mean it’s not a secret how you level up faster when you’re already “elite”. It’s not dominating kids.

There is a hangover comparison with Luka. I can’t see Cooper ever doing the multiple things offensively that make Luka Luka. But, maybe nobody in NBA history ever has. There was a logical disbelief “the trade” could ever happen in a million years (except for management/ownership incompetence?).
The expectations of Cooper are very different, but he can be as impactful to winning (even if he’s not as entertaining; e.g., people tuned in just to see if Luka would do something magical and never seen before in an NBA game). But, I’m of the opinion we need to give the kid a chance.
However, it is galling that management apparently took credit for getting Cooper (let’s get rid of the one player that no one in the league can stop so we will lose enough games to have a 1.8% of getting the first draft pick — that seems like a good plan?). Not sure how Nico/ownership can be totally forgiven for the unforgivable. Mark should have sold the team to a local owner who actually knew something about Luka and his value.
