    AB is kinda like Nemhard in Indy, not as good right now, but in a year or two I think he can play a similar type role, I got confidence in his defense and ability to score at least 10-12 pts per night in the playoffs.

    A late for first AB? AB's defense a lone isn't worth that. Borderline elite defender at such a young age? No way Orlando should be looking to trade him. Kid is still so young who has showed plenty of promise. AB will learn lots from Tyus too and Shamgod will do wonders for him with the handle. Tyus only on a one year deal as well. Jase & AB complement each other very well in the long run too.

    The Magic like unconventional, untraditional archtypes. Jones is only here for one season, and honestly Jace is actually Jones' replacement in waiting. If I'm the Magic I sit on AB. The picks don't matter and the age of the 6 foot, high octane offence guard is kind of over. AB is lockdown at three positions going into year three. I'd like to see how he turns up. Not trading him for theoretical grizzled vet.

    Do Magic fans think they can contend this year?

    I have them playing the Cavs in the ECF, but it seems like the Magic fans aren't willing to trade Black for a title.

    I’ve been a big fan of black bc:

    1. I think positional size is most valuable at the guard position

    2. Good versatile defender

    3. His size n athleticism give him the potential to be devastating finishing at the rim.

    4. Idc if he’s an on/ball guard or off… what’s Suggs? What’s Derrick white? What’s bane? I think any on ball capability is a plus if you’re not a primary ball handler which is usually reserved for the best or 2nd best player on the team. Even if he can’t shoot. There are ways to space guys like him whether that’s putting him in the dunker w a spacing big. Or using him as a cutter/screen in the dray/braun type mold

    5. I like his feel on both sides.

    6. He’s a competitor

    He was probably the magics 3rd best player in that series v the Celtics last yr. He’d be a huge pick up for some1

    As the President of the Jalen Suggs Brigade, the Magic need Black just for the 20-30 games Jalen misses. Also, you just don’t trade border line elite defensive guards who are huge and playmakers. It ALWAYS backfires. Also Black isn’t going to demand a ton in terms of salary. I think. I just don’t think this archetype of player should ever be traded.

    magic should've offered black and wendel carter for norman powell, instead of giving up so many first round picks for bane

    To say it short. Yes he is a good trade asset, BUT the Magic should keep him.
    If anything, Suggs (maybe even Bane) is the player that should be traded for a better Starting level PG. And I think Garland will soon be available.
