FIBA Markkanen Is An Absolute Monster

FIBA Markkanen Is An Absolute Monster

Lauri Markkanen became only the second player ever to record multiple 40 point games in EuroBasket history. In this video I break down how his role with Finland is completely different from the Utah Jazz and why FIBA basketball unlocks a whole new level of his game. From post ups and inverted pick and rolls to Dirk Nowitzki comparisons, Markkanen looks flat out unfair on the FIBA court.

  1. everyone's been sleeping on lauri cus he's on the jazz. Now the world finally sees how great he has been esp on the international stage!!

  2. The thing about Lauri has always been consistency. He can be dominant one night and meh the next. Putting together consistent performances is what keeps him from All-NBA levels. (Consistency and injury, tbh.) Talent is never been the issue.

  3. Serbia and Germany are usually deeper than Finland so it's not a fair comp. He has a bigger load to carry. Besides 2022 Markkanen scored 43 against against Croatia to advance to quarter finals where Finland lost by ten points to Spain who one it all. Not bad, I'd say.

  4. Loved the video! Lauri had 43/9/3 game at the FIBA EuroBasket 2022 in the round of 16 and Finland won over Croatia. I think that's one of the best fiba playoff performances in history so Lauri has also "that game" in playoffs. Of course it was only round of 16 and against Croatia but Finland should not have a chance against Croatian nba palyers with that roster.

  5. The real test are next games against Lithuenia and Deutchland. Nevertheless he is the King of basketball for us finns 😊 and has been playing great, like the whole team.

  6. I saw a few rumors early in the summer about him getting traded to the Timberwolves. Sad that didn't end up happening.

  7. The sad thing is that NBA teams see a talent like this, and the only thing they think is basically perimeter decoration to make space for the "actual" talent.
