He should take his time, and the rest of the team should continue to plan to play without him for the first half of the season. There should be No rush to have him playing again. His longevity needs to be maintained, therefore his rehab will continue until he's ready.
Relying on Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving to win a ring is not going to bode well. You saw what happened with that last year right? It's better for the Mavericks to trade both Kyrie and Davis and begin to build around Cooper Flagg. This is the main reason why trading Luka Doncic away was asinine. ACL recovery time is now based on functional outcomes rather than time based so he may come back early.
Not advocating for that but if he hits all of functional outcomes he may return early if doing well.

He will come back as soon as possible because he's gonna wanna build that chemistry with the team. He is coming back he is not gonna waste a season toward the end of his career. Plus they would not given him that contract if he was not coming back this year. Plus he is not going to hang his teammates out to dry. That's why he sent those clips . So you guys will stop saying that stupid stuff that he is not going to return.
He will probably return at the beginning of the year. Then they will start to ramp him up.
