Balmer is not a genius like everyone says. His success is largely a byproduct of him having the good fortune to be Bill Gates' roommate in college. He got in on the ground floor with Microsoft. When bill stepped away and Balmer took over MS he almost ran them into the ground. The day balmer resigned (was forced out) ms stock jumped almost 20% in a day. His fortune has balooned since then because his equity stake in microsfot has increased like 10x under different leadership

If the league has not taken these CBA circumvention methods into account in their rules, then they condone this. Because it's so blatantly easy to then go and get your player working with what really looks like an intermediate between you and that player. Just the fact that you can pay for company X anything and that company can then pay sponsorship money to your own player (or ANY player) should be deemed illegal per league rules.

As much as I believe Pablo did a great job with this story and that this was definitely cap circumvention.. I can still see a scenario where Ballmer gets away with it unscathed.. Neither does it surprise me that this kind of thing would be happening all around major sports. How many deals have been made that we don’t know about where tracks were just properly covered?
