Stop it.. Giddy and everyone on this team are low pressure players to this point..Getting numbers on a bad team that will let Giddy do what ever he wants.. %75 of the players in the league could put up numbers on a crappy team in a contract year.. we seen this before. .Lets not be fooled (for some of you again.. I told yawl so then, just like Im telling yawl so now) .. #1s can carry you to a series win, #2s can win you at least 2 games in a playoff series, #3 can contribute but they cant be depended upon to carry you to anything but the mediocrity- the play-in is their peak in a lead dawg role – but zero playoff wins. we have seen this before.. and this new CBA is going to screw you hard if you overpay guys, unlike the last one.. we are going back to 90s team design structure, a #1 + #2 + Either a good #3 OR a good Bench.. thats what is CBA is designed to do, to every team over the next three years. you are not getting rid of/moving bad contracts as easily as prior years.. not happening..!!!
Giddy is a #3 at best, just like Zach and Debo were. Dont make the same mistake of overpaying another #3 because with this new CBA your going to pay dearly for overpaying anyone that is not a legit #1.. The #3 slot is max 25M/yr, the #4 slot is ~$19M/yr. Pay him as he is, a #3 and then Coby cant get that #4 slot or vise versa, but between the 3/4 slot its $44M/yr so maybe the Bulls view Coby as the #3 and Giddy as the #4.. Either way dont overpay and the Nets today have $15 in space while the Bulls have $36M in space.. so there is no way Giddy is going to accept 15M/yr, Additionally the Nets would then be over the cap if they extend Cam, and Brooklyn is in no position to be over the cap right now, this year, not gonna happen until they know they can sign Cam and even then Giddy is not the dude you target if your going to go over the apron.. Giddy not signing a 15M/yr offer just for the Bulls to match it.. LOL..Giddy is stuck, no team can pay him more for the next 2 years, this year and next year Bulls are the only team that can come remotely close to what he wants. He aint getting 30M, he better hope they give him the $25M if they dont he will take the 19-21M/yr. its still the most he can get and he got no choice but to sign considering the alternatives.. He can sign the QO and then become a UFA next off season, but even then only the Bulls will have the room to sign him to a deal close to what he wants…He keep playing around he is gonna Dennis Schröder himself and end up playing for the Mid level next year..
