That mentality matters on the court. Why you think the all star games in MJ and Kobe era were good. Everyone steps there game up because of Kobe and MJ
It's funny how nba players talk about MJ & Kobe with a tone of passion and admiration. But when they talk about LBJ, it always sounds like the politically correct thing to say. Like they're forced to mention LBJ or else.
I actually remember Chuck being pretty critical of Kobe, during those post-Shaq years. He was definitely Team LeBron. But once LeBron went to Miami, Chuck officially switched to Team Kobe.π€£
Charles Barkley is the only sports analyst who's not afraid to tell the truth and isn't getting a check from klutch to spread LeBron propaganda…. Charles keeps it π― always
He not out there trying to kill you. Finals MVP multiple 40 point games in the playoffs dont matter if you do a drive by loud af or you long range with the scope chill same result β°οΈπππ€£πβ οΈπ
Firstly, even Shawn Baker, Paul Saladino, Joe Rogan have all stopped eating only meat for health reasons. Secondly, eating a meat heavy diet is just greedy. If everyone ate like that the planet would be totally fucked. Thirdly, we are primates! Weβre not meant to eat like a lion or alligator. We have the traits we have for a reason!
The problem with old heads like Charles (and me since we are the same age) is that they expect things to be done the way they did it; not realizing the world has changed and what was allowed then wouldn't me allowed now.
The distinction Charles Barkley is making focuses on how the difference in demeanor produces different results amongst these three players. Having a non-threatening, friendly demeanor does not help LeBron achieve the highest levels of competitiveness which is required to ascend to the highest level. you have to realize there is a point in which friendliness restricts a players ability to be as forceful as possible on the court. That is what Charles Barkley is describing.
On a final note, think about this: LeBron James most recent commercial βthe forever king β, showcases LeBron with a mean scowl on his face as he stares deeply into the camera. This is the persona that LeBron James projects during controlled productions. However, ask yourself where was this demeanor when he faced his toughest challenges? As one example we can recall to during the All-Star game when Kobe Bryant made a point to guard LeBron James one on one. LeBron Jamesβ facial expression was very neutral and melancholy. Meanwhile, Kobeβs facial expression was greedy, determined, focused. Though he is friends with LeBron, Kobe did not give a damn about his friendship with any person on the court because he does not prioritize friendliness over competitiveness. This distinction is why Kobe ascended to the highest level in his career and LeBron did not. This is also the reason MJ and Kobe never have to go out of their way to showcase fearlessness during their commercials as a way to convince us that they are fearless. No, they showed us on the court instead of having to convince us in controlled filming productions.
Iβm not a huge bron supporter and neither do I hate on bron but I do think heβs better person, outside of basketball, than mj and Kobe. I do think mj is better than bron but bron is definitely a better person

Lebron from the soft generation. Definitely never walked to school uphill in a snowstorm and back home uphill in a snowstorm.
Here's the thing about LeBron. He was better than Jordan and Kobe as a teenager, and he's better than both of them at 40. Let that sink in
