Miami Heat rumors on an Andrew Wiggins trade gets reignited following a report from NBA Insider, Marc Stein. Stein reported that the Lakers could show interest in Andrew Wiggins if the Heat look to make a Wiggins trade. Heat trade rumors pointed towards a potential Wiggins trade during the NBA Draft in June with the Lakers. Andrew Wiggins was acquired at the NBA Trade Deadline in the Jimmy Butler trade with the Golden State Warriors. Wiggins played in 17 regular season games, and struggled in the Heat-Cavs NBA Playoffs series. Wiggins has one year left on his contract that is guaranteed, and has a player option for the following season.

“Wiggins, 30, will earn $28.2 million this season and holds a $30.2 million player option for 2026-27. I wouldn’t have classified him as a potential purple-and-gold target before Dončić’s long-term future was secured, but things are different now. So my sense is that the Lakers would have interest if the Heat, in coming weeks or months, decide to prioritize financial flexibility and look to reduce payroll.”
