I watched pretty much every Memphis NBA game of the last 4 to5 seasons. To be honest, I am not mad about Jaren position at all and I think it's about right. 1) He is an extremely poor rebounder 2) Disappearing in bigger games when he should step up 3) foul trouble 4) he can score but he is rather selfish player and doesn't make his team-mates better, no assists or other positive involvement on average. If the only positive thing about Jaren is scoring, he should be scoring 30 every night but his scoring is even lower than Ja's, while Ja provides assists and selfless playmaking, when Jaren is said to have had his best season of his career while this was Ja's one of the worst seasons statistically, Ja was still a lot better. 5) He is also not as good of defender as he is said to be, he gets constantly dominated by most of the big players and his blocking rate has fallen down and is below impressive.
However, Ja I think is extremely underrated in the ranking as he is objectively top 5 NBA player talent wise. However, I think people are reluctant to rank him high because of his unpredictability and potential injuries. However, he should still be ranked as top 15 player and way higher than Jaren as he was significantly better than Jaren in every statistical department including scoring apart from maybe blocks.
To add Ja's playmaking and he makes his team-mates better and he selflessly plays for the team and tries to score only when he needs to and he still does that significantly better.
Any comparison that Jaren could be better than Ja is ridiculous and people that make them don't watch basketball but go by an misinformed opinion and what other people who don't watch basketball say.
Positive thing could be that, this will inspire Ja to be better than ever, even better than his other best career seasons, and prove everyone wrong. Ja was ranked low but no one should rank Jaren above Ja. Only the people who don't watch games and go by an opinion can do that. Ja is the leader and the soul of this team and by far the most talented player on this team. I remember when Ja scored a 50 over Jazz, the best team in NBA at the time, in his first NBA playoff series. How many players have done that in the history of NBA. Only few.
Ja is one of the very few current players in NBA that have that spark of Jordan. We need to support and play to the strengths of our best player and not to downplay him because of this, that or the other. After Ja Memphis, and NBA, will not see a talent like that for a very long time, so appreciate it while you have it.
Like it or not the NBA doesn't respect the Grizzles, noone fears them, simple as that.

Memphis Grizz fans are delusional. This team hasn't won anytime, and these 2 players haven't won anything special. The reason why Ja and JJJ are ranked so low is because they are that low. These 2 guys are are not hall of fame players. They are fringe all star players. Ja is too emotional as a player, never level headed, and everyone knows, that doesn't cut it. Ja's got talent, but once he can't jump anymore, Ja will be nothing. Ja uses his athleticism more than any other player in the NBA. Jaren keeps on making the same old mistakes. He got big hands, long arms, but can't rebound, and looks lost out there sometimes. JJJ isn't a willing passer either. and still takes dumb fouls. Give me a swap for any other 2 all stars in the NBA.

They're trolling or just haters. I still haven't heard any legitimate arguments for Ja being so low for people. The same people who say injuries, are the same people that put Kawai and Embid in top discussions.
You can be a Grizzlies fan without being bias and yes Ja needs to be higher but stop being delusional. And I am a Grizzlies fan. Y’all love underrate Jaren and sometimes disrespect him. But love to overrate Ja at the same time. Ask yourself Joe truly what is Ja better at than Cade. Is he a better shooter? Is he a better mid-range player? Is better at the rim player or just as good? Is he a better passer or just as good? Is he a better defender or just as good? We know the only thing Ja better at is at the rim. So how is he better? Stop being a fan and be analyst. Like I always say Jaren is a better play than Ja and it’s no debate. He’s a better scorer than Giannis and Ja and there no debate. Giannis and Ja are dominant at what they do and that’s attacking the rim. But it’s more to scoring just at the rim. It’s more to basketball than just offense. The same comparison yall did with Mobley and Jaren you have to do with Cade and Ja without being bias. Because Joe you have Jokic better than Giannis even though Giannis is just as on as Jokic at everything on offense other than shooting. From points,rebounds, and assists it’s not a gap. This is Ja's games played in his last 6 seaons: 67,63,57,61,9, and 50 last season. Ja only plays about 50-60 games a season. The other 30 games he out! Guess what? Its a trend? And trends don't lie! If Ja plays about 50-60 games, he is on par with his season average. Thats 30+ games you missed, and maybe half those games are winnable if he plays! But guess what? He get injured in the playoffs too!!!! LOL Guess how much Lebron Old man played last season? 70 games!! Giannis played 67 games, Jokic played 70 games, Durant played 62 games, Curry played 70 games. These Superstar players all played 67+ games!!!! But Ja? 50 games!!!!

I'm not gonna take sides per se, but listening to various feeds two gentle reminders:
1. The ranking isn't an overall career comparison, nor is it about who will dominate the next five years, it's strictly how good they'll be next season.
If that's true, I can see Haliburton maybe disqualified if he is to miss the whole season. So that theoretically move most up a spot.
2. The votes were aggregated correct? So folks aren't arguing against a rogue opinion, but the tally is you guys vs. the majority. At least the Grizz show has two hosts (two votes), the Clippers, Pistons, Rockets shows only get one. Nuggets get three votes?
Some of the locked down hosts were pretty gracious, like the Hornets hosts being ok with Lamelo being in the 40's or 76ers of Paul George being in the 80's.
I'd say bookmark this. Set a reminder to revisit this end of next season and see if Ja lived up to the ranking that was given.
