So who is the bad actor in the Kawhi situation? Ballmer, Uncle, or Kawhi? The answer is all of them.
I like the comparison of Uncle Dennis being "the fixer" like Michael Cohen was for Trump. That also means that Kawhi may be a Trump type manipulator who needs a trusted person to use as a fixer? Sorry but I don't see Kawhi as a weak person who is easily manipulated. Kawhi is no Malachi, or Lonzo Ball. Kawhi is very confident, and assertive so he may be the actual manipulator, rather than being the manipulated. And Uncle Dennis may of at most just of been a co-conspirator.
There is a reason the great character players for the Spurs did not like Kawhi. Also even though it was not public a few character Raps players, like Fred & Kyle did not respect Kawhi. Kawhi was always only about himself. He was a great player, but not a great person.
The Raps were lucky that Kawhi did not stay in TO. He has not done much since the championship, and has always been injured.
Clippers fans must regret the day that their team acquired Kawhi. The Clippers were an exciting young team, with a future MVP in SGA, and then they made a pact with the Devil shipping off SGA and a boat load of picks, to get George to accommodate Mr. Kawhi. Imagine how good and exciting the Clippers would be if they stuck with their rebuild, instead of making a nightmare team.
Kawhi was such a great player, even if he was a Primadonna who often felt he was above playing in the regular season. Kawhi could take any team to another level, yet he has left fans (and many players) for all 3 NBA teams has played, bitter.
Silver has to do something about this. The new CBA is very restrictive to try to bring balance to the NBA. If Silver does not respond in a meaningful way, the rich NBA teams will just manipulate the rules, to increase their dominance over the small market teams.
Where there is smoke there is fire.. Isn't multiple issues….
@basketball rewind its unlikely clippers get a death penalty. at most i see a fine and maybe 2 picks they lose. and for kawhi thats not a big price to pay. proving it is the hard thing. the clippers were burned once with deandre jordan with balmer already of giving illegal endorsements and they only got a 250k fine. and they only got caught because balmer put it in writing. i dont think balmer is stupid enought to put it in writing a 2nd time.
will the raptors get any compensation out of it. no. when the timberwolves circumvented the cap, they lost picks but it wasnt given to warriors. they just lose the picks.
