Regardless of his locker room presence, one guy is overdue for retirement in, Kevin Love(we have enough locker room leadership already as it is).
And the other is 30 going on 31 this season with an astronomical contact in, Andrew Wiggins!
People seem to forget that the Lakers standpoint is that they are going younger with athletes who can play alongside, Luka Doncic for seasons to come and not waste space and money on athletes who are at the end of their career and close to retirement… if not overdue for retirement.
They already have guys like, LeBron James (who is about to retire). And a guy that they picked up this season because of his great contract named, Marcus Smart (who is coming to the end of his career as well).
As someone else commented I'll take a,"hard pass", on either one of them or both for that matter!
One may have great locker room presence and the other may be proficient in certain areas on the court. But that does not change the fact that they are aging and on the decline as well as overdue and/or ready for retirement. If not this season then next season for sure.
We need younger, stronger and longer lasting pieces on this team who slot well next to, Luka Doncic and are able to grow alongside him for seasons to come and not one season rentals for athletes in the decline it just about ready for it.

I don’t think the Rui situation should be “either start him or trade him.” I don’t really agree with that thought process unless he’s not willing to go to the bench for the betterment and success of the team. Same goes for AR. If neither one of them are willing to do what it takes to help the team win, then they might need to be traded. The Lakers are fine. They have Rui, Vando, Smart and there rookie that could play solid minutes this coming season.
I like Wiggs and think he'd be a great fit on the Lakers. That said, I'd rather the Lakers go after someone that won't cost them as much like Aaron Nesmith, Deni Avdija, or Herb Jones instead. They might even be able to pull off a trade with Portland to get both Deni and Rob Will. If they also get Quentin Grimes in a sign-and-trade, that's like all their major problems solved at one time.

Let’s get it done and have a more balance team and starting 5. A lot of people are underestimating or not understanding how important or significant a glue piece like Wiggins could be to balance up that Luka, reaves, Lebron unit. Especially now that we have added guys like Ayton, Smart, LaRavia.

Id trade them Reaves and salary fillers to get Wiggins and keep our 1st round pick! That also opens starter spot for Wiggins and Smart than u add Luka and Bron w Ayton gives us a much more balanced starting lineup.
