It don't matter. Long as you don't get AD hurt playing center.
IMO roster is not properly designed. 1st the wings: Flagg & AD will and deserving so get 80% of the mins. That leaves PJ & Marshall the other 20%. Problem is you are paying PJ starting $. To me Marshall is just as good as PJ so he is the odd man out. Now to the centers: AD has made it clear he wants to play the 4 spot. Gafford & Liv are both capable of starting when healthy. But neither will have near the stats without Luka unfortunately. Powell over Jones was a mistake IMO. Now to the guards: DeAnglo is a shoot first point guard, Williams great potential but young. Neither are lock down defenders. The Exum is he good enough to lead this team to championship? Irving we know is a superstar but can he stay healthy & truly be the #1 star? Are AD, Klay & Irving going to accept Flagg getting the headlines? Then to me the biggest problem: Klay & Christie? Simply how do you get them enough playing time? Time will tell. Health will determine our season. Go Mavs
Michael Jordan played fewer games his 2nd season than Lively did his – no need to over-react.
Gafford needs to start. Lively of the bench. Both are good Gafford is very versatile and strong enough to battle big bodies.
Both are good friends and dont think they mind either way. Both are top noch. Lakers would kill for Gafford.

I honestly don't know with Klay off the bench bc he is our best shooter rn I am not sure how I feel about that tbh

That’s not what Marc stein said, he said they could try it at some point he’s more so insinuating Klay is starting but they could try pj starting at some point.
Marcell.. I think u got Lively and Gaff switched. U said Lively was our defensive anchor last season..?? Gafford is hands down a better shot blocker, even tho Lively is taller. And Gafford had a long stretch where he was just the man!! Lively missed too many games. Not sure what u were puffing on when u said that, lol.
Gafford playing with KP in DC helped a lot with him now being able to run with AD. DG probably is a better passer than he's shown, but he's really good at overpowering in the post for his own bucket, which is definitely needed. DG for start, DL for energy off the bench, or whatever the matchups suggest.
I think it should depend on match ups. I think Lively defends outside a bit better than Gafford. Gafford is more gritty and aggressive under the hoop.
Gafford is a better option as a starter imo but as a development, chemistry, and experiment season Lively should start so he can elevate his game even more. Hopefully he can add a level of scoring/move, I hope he works on a mid-range but a 3 would make things interesting too. There are many directions for him to elevate his game as long as he works and hopefully gains weight he can go further towards his very high ceiling.
This is not really a problem to me. They really have a good relationship for two people who play the same position. I'd say who has a good game that night finishes the game.
D. Live too young to get injured too much, he could be a good trade piece

Lively and Flagg need to come off of the bench…especially Flagg… let him get his feet under him for a month or two

The landlord (Gafford) is effectively proficient at blocking & rim protection too. Lively is more rangy & athletic and can defend the perimeter
Start gafford. Plays with force. More healthy
Klay should start, let Dlo come off the bench.
