ESPN NBA Insider Shams Charania & Anthony Slater on Warriors Free Agency:
âTheir unwillingness to budge on the team option in those specific two offers is a major part of the holdup. Kuminga, gripping to the first lever of control he has had in his young career, is resistant to the idea of it, sources said. The only non-team option offer the Warriors have made to Kuminga is three years and $54 million fully guaranteed, sources said, an average of $18 million per season. Turner and Kuminga have spent much of the summer requesting a player option as part of their preferred deals, sources said, showing a willingness to dip down into the $20 million per year range for it, but believing a team option deal should cost around $30 million per year. The Warriors have also viewed a player option as a nonstarter, sources said.â

Will Jonathan Kuminga sign the qualifying offer? Type âYâ for Yes, âNâ for New Deal
Yeah… Kerr F****d this up really bad…. JK has done everything professionally to allow the Dubs to get out of this mess they created last year but nothing will work…. They should have just let him sign the QO in july and left it alone…. EVERYONE knew the Dubs issues when they said they were gonna sign JB to 54Mil…. They boxed themselves in a financial corner and thought they could pull a sheisty move, but Jk said "Hellnaw"…. Just let him sit on the bench and leave and we will finish 11th or 12th… He tried to help us but Kerr can't figure it out.. And you can't let Kerr go….Bridge is burnt to a crisp
Well chatsports i thought JK had no leverage cos he's such a terrible player
Dang JK bout to end up just like my boy in Dallas traded to a whole another team. Leaving the moment all over again only different person & different sport. Sheeesh
The Divs did this shit to themselves thanks to their refusal to fire Kerr. They're gonna let Kerr ruin the team long term. All you fairweather fans who don't know any better…get ready for the Dubs to be a fn joke in the league again once Steph is done. And it'll be thanks to jackasses who think the Dubs do no wrong, like this guy.
I think caminga needs to go ahead and ask them for a trade and get your a** up out of golden state and go to sacramento or phoenix.Because honestly golden state doesn't want caminga, and you sure, in the hell ain't worth no ninety million or a hundred million. You're not that good of a player, not even close. That's a joke. And that's why he's doing it because he has a little leadway. He knows d*** well.He ain't working on ninety or a hundred million. Not even close, you're a bench player
Trade himmmmmmmmmmmmn
Not sure what the CBA says, but a contract is a contract and generally you can put all kinds of special clauses in there.
And that could make so many ways to solve this, but the Warriors continue to prove themselves âMy Way or Weâll Never Let You Get to the Highway.â Why not consider
1. Give him player option in return for a list from JK on Teams to which heâs willing to be traded, at the teamâs option, and guarantee those will be the only ones he will be traded to without his approval.
2. Give him guaranteed minutes for two years, team option third year, but JK gets 'X' trade vetos per year. (so he effectively only goes where he wants to go, and doesnât get screwed again.)
3. You know Jimmyâs gonna miss some games, Drayâs gonna miss some games, Stephâs gonna miss some games. Guarantee JK starts those games and getâs at least 30-38 minutes.
Warriors want to trade him because his style doesnât fit Kerrâs. JK wants to get away from Kerrâs stifling style. JK has certain teams he wants to be traded to and certain teams he doesnât want to be traded to.
Seems thereâs a solution in there somewhere.
(to date Kerrâs style only works with Steph. It sucks when Stephâs out and even when he sits. Here's an idea : Let Stotts Coach when Steph sits or is out. What Kerr is doing just isnât working and maybe heâs the one needs to ride the bench for a while. At least worth a try. Maybe theyâll be better than play-in.)
Declining a 3 year 75M offer is a little wild considering you don't even want to be on this team. Take the guaranteed money and if you get traded then so be it you'll get your lead role on another team
JK if the Warriors make the third year a players option, take the $75 million! If they donât, Take out insurance ( injury ) and bet on yourself! Steve doesnât want you!
I know one thing am sick of hearing about this let's get this train moving. Somebody got to give.
This issue is getting old.
N
A
This kuminga BS has ruined our whole offseason and honestly I canât wait for a resolution to occur because itâs getting ridiculous plus whatever offers he accepts heâll get traded eventually.
New Deal
Before
He DOESNT WANT TO BE THERE.. What do you all donât understand.? The money doesnât mean shit! He wants out! Take my Kings deal.. Yall dumb!
Bottom line is if he doesn't want to play ball…. he's not playing.
I cant stand JK
JK is a sensitive Idiot FR!!!! NEVER should have drafted him
Johnathan Kuminga is a narcissist. Delusional asf.
This feel like a huge Bowl Movement and the turd is huge and nasty and it can't pass rebound or shoot beyond 6 inches from the rim so, NO WE DON"T WANT YOU HERE SO PULL THE FLUSH HANDLE and say good bye.
Gsw should only do the qualifying offer as the only option. Sign the other free agents and move on
