Y dude keep talking about money
Obviously that’s not his top priority
GSW really ran into problems last year because of age and injury, just players being too old, so I'm glad we're bringing in El Horford.
The media claiming JK has no control…lmao why are we in this position? He has control and yall cant stand it.
This dude with the green hat pissing me off
He refusing to listen to the others he just wanna talk
Dude with the hat, this is the smartest and best break down ive herd someone said all summer. But warriors need to get rid of jk. He's not that good, he dont even have good handles smh
Tim Bontemps seemed really pissed off and annoyed today. 😄
I swear to God if Bontemps references the money one more time….
This whole narrative with the Kings trade has been the Warriors would be getting Monk and a 1st rounder(with protection) for Kuminga which is wrong. With a sign and trade the Warriors can’t get back salary close to that straight up. The trade would have to also include either Hield or Moody. Neither one of them want to leave the Warriors and the players on Warriors love those guys
We can tell who will do anything for the money even if he is not happy he looks like is is gona cry over another man’s money
Just let him go……I think the owner is the only one wants him around anyways. SK who only needed experienced & battle tested players over rooks……
Jk is the goat lol
Regardless of whether i agree with his takes, Bontemps has a pretty abrasive attitude imo. Keeps me from being a regular listener 😢
Sounds like Kuminga does not want to just play as a Curry decoy.
Even if he is on the QO, Kerr will eventually have to give him minutes with an aging frontline of Draymond, Butler, and Hortford. Giving Kuming multiple DPs during the long 82 season will NOT be an option. On the front line with the current roster, the alternatives are Davis and Post.
Everyone thinks the Dubs will be a contender with aging roster we will see.
Steve Kerr has a bad attitude…
This requires a second post…. Bontemps is ridiculous. Ppl have been saying he has no leverage for months now. Yet, all roads are leading to the QO being signed. If you think it's stupid that's one thing. But thats what JK and his agent believe is best for them.
Bontemps…. WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU SAYING
THEY WONT TRY TO MAKE HIM LOOK GOOD NO MATTER WHAT
You are a joke? Why do you care!!! It is JK choice.
Wow this guy just doesn't get it
Bontemps is so whiny.
What’s missing in most analyses is that Kuminga just wasn’t very good last year. Kerr didn’t suddenly forget how to coach. Kuminga had the worst +- of any player on team who got significant minutes. Kuminga is a slasher who can’t shoot the 3, which means he’s not very effective in the modern NBA. Among the 236 players in league who shot as many 3s as JK (3.2 per game), fewer than 20 shot a lower percentage than JK (30.5%). JK and his agent claim he’s an elite talent, but he’s not. A little humility could go a long way here. Maybe if he acknowledged that he owns some responsibility to evolve and improve his game, they might be able to find common ground. But how many 22 year olds have we known in the workplace and elsewhere who thought they were all that, but just weren’t. That attitude, unless it changes, will likely limit his career arc, not Kerr.
Quick Question to those saying Kuminga should take the money, let's say he DOES NOT sign the 2+1 or 1+1. What do you guys realistically expect to happen next? The options I see are
1. Warriors take one of the sign & trade deals
2. He comes back on Qualifying offer (losing money, which he doesn't seem to care about) & Warriors make the dumb decision to lose him for nothing in FA next year unless they do a sign & trade next year.
3. He comes back on a qualifying offer & He & the Warriors find a trade destination together cause he has a NTC.
If he takes that deal from the Warriors, yea he gets some money. But he loses ALL leverage.
Why would he do that if it seems money is not the motivation here?
These foos be on the edge
So if he takes the qualifying offer what are the warriors going to do? Not play him? GUESS WHAT THEY BEEN DOING THAT ANYWAY. Control your own future take the offer so u can be free next summer .
so .. if he signs a qualifying offer , bontemps thinks they just won't play him ? does he actually hear himself when he says these things ? If anything , anybody that wants him now will still want him in 8 months , might have even more suitors by then because teams are fixated on his potential (as long as he's healthy)
If JK is seriously fed up , then i doubt he'd want to be held hostage by a team option from people who really don't like or value him
Did bro just say the Suns and Kings would build their offense around Kuminga?
I love how Tim Bontemps absolutely can't understand how anyone would take less money. He HATES the GSW. He does not want to play ball with them, and wants to choose his team. If it hurts the GSW, then that is even better. He's already making millions and does not just care about making max money.
Someone better tell Jonathan Kuminga, what happened to Patrick McCall and Jordan Bell he gonna end up overseas with his attitude
I don’t know what team would want a player like this. He’s hurt his own brand.
Do you guys think grown man “debating” like kids is enjoyable to watch? lol it is not. You guys needs to talk about the facts not how you feel about situations because it just sounded like two kids arguing honestly
Yo why is the only guy that isn’t on tv or is credible, pocket watching and completely missing the point of why Kuminga doesn’t want to be there. Honestly get rid of him, he’s the reason more people don’t watch this show
You are WRONG I have listen to JK a lot as a Warrior fan and it is absolutely about the money!!! In his mind he is a super star and he thinks he should be the focus and he has said because those guys make so MUCH MONEY!!! if he was that guy the Warriors would be playing him he is super athletic but he sucks at rebounding and passing he is not a good team defender, IT'S all about him the king's are desperate for anybody both them and the suns need a young scorer. The Warriors are treating this RIGHT he is not a super star and never will be. let him sign the Qualifying offer sit him on the end of the bench and forget him clear the money out good bye.
Bontemps was spot on!
I can't understand, coming from DR Congo and being offered 45-75mil contract but saying no to it. Does he expect to get 4 years 160mil from someone next year??
Honestly as a waariors fan we no longer care. Our team chemistry means more , send him anywhere
Bob Temps, can’t comprehend that this 22yo might be more focused on his. 26th or 27th birthday situation more than his 23rd! What about this young man thinking strategically/ logistically vs tactical/short term can he not comprehend?
JK goal should be to play BASKETBALL in the right environment for his game to prosper.
JK should want a team that WANTS him, and has plans for HIS game! Not go so place as a trade piece.
If he is playing at 32yo(10 years more) it’s likely he will make $200m(low) to $300m( also probably low considering how salaries are escalating) what will $15m looks like? 30 pieces of silver? Or a GOLDEN TICKET!
Malpractice? The hyperbole makes me chuckle. Bontemps voices mirrors all that is wrong with this culture. First, money first, above everything, as if 8 million for a year isn't alot of money, and insisting everyone must see it his way. To capacity or willingness to even hear any other perspective. Not even the capacity to recognize there may come a time in life than something is more important than your bank account, and to step away from it may appear like malpractice, but maybe it is actually courage.
Why are they trying to resign him????
They don’t even want him
He doesn’t want to play for them
I think the guy with the hat actually works for the Golden State Warriors
Because he’s defending the Warriors like the Warriors know his dirty little secret and for them not to tell it, he has to defend them with the dumbest defense possible
He’s not a great player .. so the Warriors should reject the trade for a first round pick and a pretty good player that would fit their offense
The Golden State Warriors are probably going to have Draymond Green beat him down into submission
In the name of everything that is holy please take bontemps off this show. He shows time and time again his basketball awareness is that of a fallen tree. 😂
The “it’s not about the money” argument….maybe but every other player in pro sports it is about the money but sure, maybe he’s the one guy. But not only does that mean less money now, it’ll mean less money next year because the Warriors won’t play him next year with the qualifying offer. His spot in the roster is tenuous at best, Moody and Podz will get more of his minutes so why would another team give him a big contract next year so what would he sign as a free agent? Not a 1 year deal but if it’s likely 2-3 years at not much so it’s really 3-4 years of bad money for a guy that might go elsewhere and flop. So many guys have left the Warriors during the Curry era, signed good deals and then vanished. He’s not a very good player. If you’ve watched him play over the 4 years you’d see a guy with an occasional highlight dunk, terrible D, no 3pt shot and he gets many of his points either against 2nd teams or when Steph is being double and triple teamed. I’ve been a Warriors fan since just after Rick Barry left. I watch their games. There’s a reason they played their best when he was benched after getting Jimmy, there’s a reason only 2 terrible teams made offers for him and they were weak offers. GM’s aren’t desperate to sign him. Kuminga is soft on the court. He disappears in big moments. He doesn’t make them more likely to win but they’ve got such a thin roster they’re still willing to give him a few more years to figure it out because they don’t have alternatives. The only team desperate here is Golden State because they can’t afford a big free agent due to being over the cap and they don’t have time to hope they can draft someone to really help before Steph/Draymond retire so they’re the one team hoping Kuminga actually improves and they’re willing to pay for it. I see most Warriors fans just want him gone even if it means nothing in return at this point but Joe Lacob wants to give it another shot. I think they should have moved on from him 2 years ago when they had some offers. If he signs the 2 or 3 year deal and actually plays well he can get paid now and still be moved to a team that he might prefer. If he takes the qualifying he will likely waste at least one year but will definitely have 3-4 years of being poorly paid and if the next team doesn’t go well he might be out of the league. Small forwards aren’t exactly hard to find, especially one dimensional players that can’t shoot, can’t pass, can’t defend and is a underwhelming rebounder. I wish it had worked. I’d love to see him improve his D and passing like Draymond or improve his shot making and ability to get to the line like Jimmy but I guess he’s either incapable of doing that or just isn’t interested in putting in the effort. Why else has he not worked on that and improved in 4 years with the Warriors and during the off-season plus a year in the G-League where he didn’t exactly set the world on fire (38% from the field), he makes Bronny look like a superstar by comparison.
