  1. Why do I think cooper…all respect for him…is going to be a bust off all you guys expecting from this young lad… I think he will struggle first year…and put to much on himself….last time I remember NBA was so hyped about Zion and we all see where this ended….and before that was James…and he is a freak of nature….
I do believe cooper is going to be good player…but never raeach jokic, Janis, Luka stardome (this are just recent players)…I hope I wrong…I wish all good to this kid….but just stop it and let him do his work!
Janis wasn't hyped…jokic was second round pick…Luka (he did everything in Europe before he turned 18) wasn't hyped….cooper is hyped (I think Nico wants to hype him even more that it should)….give this kid a break and leave them reach what his potential is…I get it…just because he is American player….but FFS…stop it!

  2. Cooper Flagg needs to improve his media interview skills and his social media presence. Fortunately, he can do both at the same time by just coming on Locked On Mavs every day.

  3. Great show. The second Maverick overall 1 pick in history will be coming to a unique roster. Flagg will also be playing with the three men who turned a a very mediocre team with Luka and Kyrie into NBA finalist. Can we give our three very tradable contracts (PJ, GAF and Lively) a little more love and air time.

  4. fwiw, back in cleveland kyrie was confident that he could fix lebrons handles, there’s a video clip of him at a cavs practice commenting it to a teammate 😂. i believe him and coach phil handy will be invaluable for a kid like flagg, as they’ve been to many younger players in and off season.

  5. Slightly's point about Naji being the one to teach Coop how to handle over kai is honestly just such a great point

  6. I do not think Flagg is "generational". I think he is an average NBA player right now which is fine. He has a good motor and the natural size. Let's revisit this question in 4 years. Flagg isn't Luka level. When Luka was drafted, you knew he was a superstar. You flat out knew. Euroball is so much harder and better than US college ball or g-league. That is why him and Oscar Robinson are the only people that had the rookie year he had. Flagg is going to take more time to develop. Can he? Sure. He has all he needs to succeed. I think in the end he will be just fine as a player.

  7. 15-5-5-1-1 is what I’m predicting for a 18 yr old kid just getting his feet wet.
He makes plays on defense and handles the ball more than we thought he would.

  8. My benchmark for a successful year for Flagg will be is he the best rookie , compare him to his peers to start off with . I’m sure haters who aren’t that knowledgeable on history will set the expectations at wanting Flagg to be playing at an allstar level day one and fans will have to keep reminding them he’s 18 or 19 but that comes with the territory anyone super hyped . More casuals will want to jump in and have an opinion because of the players popularity.

And I just want to remind people, sure there’s some superstars (mainly 3 /4 years of college guys from 20 plus years ago) who come in and are obvious superstars or generational but most you don’t quite know how great they’re going to be until like year 4 or 5 or later. Steph , Jokic, Giannis , Kawhi etc they were really good early on but I remember it wasn’t the majority opinion they’d for sure be best players on title team mvp types until year 4 or later . Flagg won’t be 25 until year 7 , give him time.
