Very strong of you to talk about this and show your feelings. Jesus and Church is what is needed here.
But I think we need to understand, this is the norm in Trump's America. He is the illness Kevin talked about. He is the reason that truth does not matter anymore. He is full of hatred, he makes it ok for people full of hatred to act in violent ways. Kirk is – from a European standpoint – a rightwing activist who supported carrying guns. His views are conservative but not in line with Christianity. What happened is horrible but unfortunately America gets what they voted for.
Your hearts are unquestionably in the right place and while I see Kirk in an entirely different light, I appreciate your empathy.
As the bible exemplifies; Christ preached love, acceptance, patience, & understanding… “You shall love your neighbor as yourself”, "Judge not, that you be not judged", “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me”.
From what I’ve seen, Kirk often used his platform to punch down, dehumanize, and humiliate; the man is quoted stating empathy is a weakness. Jonathan – Kirk’s views and the ideologies that Christ preached are often antithetical. Painfully, I find myself reminded of Matthew 7:21-23 all too often in modern America relating to self proclaimed christians and sadly found Kirk as another painful reminder.
Unfortunately, sections of the bible such as the Book of Leviticus have long been taken out of context and used to dehumanize by Christians for centuries; Kirk was sadly a product of this. Modern humanity wants to hold onto Leviticus 18:22, but not Leviticus 19:19, or Leviticus 11:7-8… These were the laws of & for the Israelites, long before Christ and his teachings. Regardless of sexual preference, gender, ethnicity, or religious beliefs – it’s my belief that we’re all children of God and thus we should treat one another as such; with love and acceptance, not judgment and ridicule.
Jonathan – You mention you’ll likely be hated for sharing your views; while I personally hold differing views as a progressive, as well as certainly holding a differing perspective and sentiment on Kirk – I’d like to restate that your visible display of empathy is what the world needs more of.
My heart particularly breaks for the victims of Wednesday’s school shooting in Evergreen Colorado. There’s far too much animosity and grief in the world. What the world needs is more love, patience and acceptance; this is how you honor Christ.

From an european perspective what has a person to do to hate him? Hate is a strong word, people can disagree or just don’t like each other without hating. What’s going on in your country doesn’t make sense to me, I mean who voted for that orange guy? I just wanna say that killing or even hurting others isn‘t acceptable no matter what your beliefs are. Thank you for using your platform to try and put forward a reasonable dialogue. From the UK here and it's hard to watch what is happening over there. Hopefully this is the turning point as Kevin said when ordinary people finally reject the messages of hate and disunity you're being force fed by small sections of the country who profit from it. This is just how it is now, people only talk about it when stuff like this happens. Look on any social media twitter especially its hate and outrage everyday. Nobody will do anything and it will keep happening just like the school 🔫 situations that have become "normal". This county is like this because people are just selfish angry and filled with hate. Its a sick society.

I am a huge fan of you guys but I think we could have left this one alone. There have been plenty of people to pass away that there have been no comments towards. He has pushed hate the entire time he has been popular. Although no one deserves to die I wouldn’t say that he deserves any more attention than those two Minnesota lawmakers or even the young Ukrainian woman or even all of the black “criminals” Mr. Kirk was more than okay with being murdered. If we want to leave the politics alone, they should just be left alone. Again – Huge Fan.
Speaking as someone who’s on the other side of the political and religious spectrum from Jonathan, I know that we’d disagree on more than a few things – however, that doesn’t mean we have to be enemies. I believe in treating people with respect and dignity and with compassion.
And whilst I disagreed with Charlie Kirk on essentially everything, and do struggle to feel compassion towards a person who intentionally sowed and greatly profited from division and “owning” people – two kids woke up without a Dad today. And that’s not okay. And it wouldn’t be okay regardless of their political, religious, social and sexual leanings.
I’m on the opposite side of the Atlantic to yourselves, and whilst we definitely are going through our own divisions in the UK right now, I do worry about the road the States continues to go down.

As a believer of Jesus Christ as well and an African American. I was raised in injustice and black people getting killed by police and unfortunately other black people as well. All injustice and all killings is unfortunate. You mentioned at the 15:33 mark this is the fork in the road for America. Did you guys believe the same thing when George Floyd, Sandra Bland, Breona Taylor, Alton Sterling, Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, Michael Brown, etc all were killed by police? Being a Christian, we can’t pick & choose when we feel bad over senseless killings. Were tears shed over these individuals and their families? Was that not the fork in the road moment, or should slavery have been the fork in road moment? This is why we ALL need Jesus. Jesus Christ teaches unconditional love b/c God is love, we shouldn’t base our love over people that is different than us. This is what is wrong with the world, we don’t respect nor value everyone’s rights, opinions, race, etc. I’m not a conservative and condolences to this man’s family, it’s not right in ALL senseless deaths that happens to everyone. ❤️🙏🏾
I love you guys and this podcast and definitely can say I especially appreciate the early part of it. Jesus is King! I share Christian values and I am a father as well and I really felt that part you shared your emotions with us when talking about your concerns for your kids
As a non conservative that doesn’t believe in god I 100% agree with what you guys said. Thank you for choosing to talk about it. The way we treat each other is unacceptable and it needs to change. A bit – but we as a society need more of that without pulling the “offended” card out. People who can’t handle it can change the channel.

Jesus rejects Christian nationalism. Jesus is a liberator of the oppressed. Jesus is the embodiment of empathy.

It gives me hope that so many young men as yourself can see the forests through the trees. These are dark times and the demons are working OT to spread their messages of hate and division. Violence is never the answer and I don't care what religion someone practices but to hear Jonathan say that he shares a lot of the same political views as Charlie Kirk, a proud fascist who made a career spreading bigotry and hateful rhetoric, as a long time listener and die hard Magic fan I can no longer support this show. Yeah just unsubscribe I don't want to hear y'all talk about Charlie Clark. There was literally a school shooting 30 minutes from where he was not a word about that not a word about a guy who got hung. But you choose Charlie Kirk who is just get off of race stuff for a second he believed that his daughter and wife shouldn't have a women's rights that it's the mans way or there's no way it's pretty damn small-minded that's really all I needed to know not to be on this side
I don't have anything nice to say, I appreciate the heartfelt response, but maybe all the school shootings should have triggered you like this a long time ago, not a cult leader getting it.
