THIS is what the Knicks rotation SHOULD look like this season | NY Got Game

Knicks signed Malcolm Brogdon, Landry Shamet and Garrison Matthews last week to compete for the final roster spot. Now that the roster is basically a finished product, Dexter Henry and Bryan Fonseca dive in and set what they believe the rotation should look like. Down to the minute! Using NBA 2K they allocate how many minutes every player should play each night.

  1. From 1 to 15 this is the deepest team I've seen in my lifetime the problem now which is good to have is how in the hell can Mike Brown regulate the minutes😅

  2. Last year, one of the most glaring weaknesses was our lack of offense to begin the 1st and 3rd quarters. I’m going either Duece or Clarkson to start them depending on the starting backcourt of the opposing team. I feel like the 2 guard spot should be interchangeable based on matchup. Let the game dictate who finishes. Also, with so much depth, we should be looking to rotate days off. Aside from Bridges who deserves to keep his Ironman streak alive, every player should be taking a day off every 8-10 games. On Mikals day, he can come off the bench for 8-10mins. That’ll help keep everyone fresh as well as give Brown a chance to experiment with different combinations.

  3. Yea watching this video just made me sad. This really means a trade is incoming. Depths means consolidation. Won’t be surprised if Mitch is traded with kolek for a bigger name.

  4. Towns either can’t or don’t understand how to defend the pick n roll & drop coverages. He needs Mitch next to him. You will have 3 solid defenders Mitch, OG, Bridges to help Towns & Brunson. They can run high pick n roll/pop and still be able to defend.

Then the second unit Duece, Jordan, Hart Yaba/Ariel3-4 good defenders

In conclusion, Towns needs less usage and those shots spread between Brisges & OG. That way he can show effort on the defensive end. His defensive effort and lack of understanding how to play drop coverage & pick n roll in the conference championship series was horrible!!

  5. Start Mitchell Robinson!!!! Hart is a beast off the bench and his rebounding gives us versatility…he can still play the most minutes, and come in for pace without sacrificing too much off the boards when one of the big men get tired

Hart for 6th man of the year

  6. 32 min for Brunson
    32 min for Bridges
    34 min for OG
    33 min for KAT
    24 min for Mitch

    25 min for Josh Hart
    25 min for Deuce
    20 min for Clarkson
    15 min for Yabusele

    240 minutes in a 9 man rotation

  7. I think deuce should start like come on Mike do what’s best for the team this is the first fully healthy Mitch in a while and I don’t want to start him and hart he messes with the spacing and yabu he is not a great defender but a great floor spacer. Deuce is the one I’m not going to give reasons juts watch in preseason

  8. Pointing out that we wont have to see the starters come back to the court when theyre up 30 in the 4Q will be such a welcome sight.

Seeing thibs send brunson back on the court when theyre up 25 with 5 minutes left was beyond infuriating.

  9. Pg Jb – 32
    Sg Deuce – 25
    Sf Mikal – 33
    Pf Og – 33
    C Kat – 32

    Pg Brogdon – 8
    Sg Clarkson – 20
    Sf Hart – 25
    Pf Yabu – 15
    C Mitch – 17

  10. Not defending Thibs all the way, but there were several games when Thibs had to over play his starters. The bench was horrible No name players were coming the Knicks having career games. Deuce complaining about distribution of minutes and strategy and he was getting cut by opposing wing players. They should be better this season but still believe that the Knicks need a tall and athletic wing defender coming off the bench. Knicks have too many small wings on the bench. You never know, OG might not stay healthy. He had a history of breaking down

  11. *Best option*:

    Cap (Jalen): 31
    Warden (Mikal): 31
    Hart (Josh): 28
    D – O.G. (OG): 31
    KAT (Towns): 31

    Duece (McBride): 20
    J.C. (Clarkson): 20
    Yabu (Guershon): 18
    BlocknessMonster (Mitch): 20

This leaves 10 minutes to either give to your starters, 4 with 33 minutes, Josh with 30…

Spread them among your bench unit, 22 minutes for all 4 guys…

Spread it among Brogdon, Shamet, and Huck or just give it to one of them…

Or mix it up with whoever is playing great that night!

  12. 10 man roster 1=30, 2=24, 3=30, 4=26, 5=26 of starting line up, 6=22, 7=20, Hart out of starting line up 8=24, 9=18, 10=18, 24 minutes for the young players between Hukporti, Dadie, Kolek

  13. Brunson 33 min
    Deuce 22 min
    Mikal 34 min
    OG 32 min
    KAT 31 min

    Hart 24 min
    Clarkson 18 min
    Mitch 18 min
    Yabusele 16 min

That leaves 12 minutes per game to Brogdon, Hukporti, Shamet or Dadiet, which is reasonable.
